Some of us posted about that particular article, apparently sourced to someone close to CW, and IMO, an apologist. The source seemed to be presenting CW's dilemma, say you killed them all or die.
And that he was in anguish because he didn't want to die.
The part I clipped in your article above, shows partly why I think that.

"he acknowledged that his life was over after he killed Shan’ann" said the source.

Anyone else see something wrong with that statement? Something missing?

To me the source is saying exactly what the apologists were saying right here on the board, that he had no options... no one would believe him.

Maybe I'm just too suspicious, but there is something hinky about what message this "source" is trying to get across.
Fully agree. Also seems he (CW and the source) thought that killing the girls wasn't that bad, it only got bad when he killed Shanann! WTH? No, no, no! CW life ended when he decided to kill his family and thought that was a solution!

"After deliberation" - I take that to mean that they know this was all pre-planned. Thoughts?

Yes, and they justify their actions to themselves because they actually think they are superior and smarter than others. They lack empathy and are not capable of feeling remorse or shame, although they care very much how others see them. I don't think his actions had anything to do with money. Shanann and the kids served a purpose for him, I believe, and when they were no longer useful to him he needed to get rid of them. But I think he still had to distance himself from them in order to do it, and at that point he saw them as objects. The AP was just a back up, a replacement, imo. He apparently held out until the end, if his lawyers had to convince him. To me this means he was thinking he truly believed he could get away with it. When the "source" stated he was finally seeing reality, I don't think he had acknowledged what he has done or how wrong it was, just that he realized he may not get away with it. Jmo

I completely agree. People today states a source close to CW stated CW yelled and cried as he realized he life was over.

How Chris Watts Decided to Plead to Killing Family: 'Eventually He Acknowledged His Life Was Over'

Cannot speak the words that come to my mind about this monster.
Vile and horrific seem shallow compared to what he did. He had everything.
One of many cases here that I've cried over.

My utmost condolences now and always to Shan'ann's parents and siblings.
I wish them healing.

‘His story didn’t work’: How Chris Watts defense lawyers convinced him to plead guilty to murdering his pregnant wife and two daughters
It appeared that investigators never believed this claim, and it now looks as though Watts’s defense team knew he didn’t have a case.

A source with knowledge of the investigation told People magazine that Watts resisted admitting to the crimes, but that his attorneys convinced him to plead guilty in order to avoid the death penalty.

“The evidence against him was overwhelming,” the source reportedly said.

“There was physical evidence and his own words that would convict him. His story didn’t work. He got angry. He didn’t want to plead guilty. But he really had no choice, considering the evidence. It took a little bit of time for him to come around, but he did.”

Did anyone read the above court document? Refer to page 5, COUNT 6 and bullet point 5. It says 'Further the women died as a result of the unlawful termination of the pregnancy'.

IMO, maybe he killed Shannan in a fit of rage and later realized he can't get out of the act of crime and didnt want his kids live alone with him in prison( and kids hating him for the rest of his life). So killed them too?? Just speculating...

I'm not expecting any surprises there - it'll be a new life with his AP. IMO.

I agree however I think he’ll also have either stated he didn’t want to have to live as a part time father because he’d miss his girls SO much (eye roll) or he feared Shan’Ann would withhold them so he “had” to do it out of love...
Obviously this would be a bag of 🤬🤬🤬🤬 but considering he had zero problem throwing her under the bus before, I cannot put it past him to do it again nor do I doubt he’s STILL trying to come out looking slightly heroic...
IMO of course

I like this sentence

" 3) I believe that the District Attorney has enough evidence to convict me at trial."

https://www.courts.state.co.us/userfiles/file/Court_Probation/19th_Judicial_District/caseofinterest/2018CR2003/Written Waiver and Guilty Plea.pdf
Me too, and I really like this one.

"10) I understand the record may be further supplemented by police reports, affidavits or other documentation attached or provided at the time of sentencing."

Please, please may we have the interrogation videos?! I want to hear his confession in his own words.
MOO

I think the wording in his waiver is so specific that it rules out an act of rage. He has said all the murders were decided "after reflection" and "not hasty or impulsive."

He's admitted that all the murders were premeditated.

IMHO the evidence they had on him, was clearly irrefutable, the cockamamie story he made up about his wife killing the children, absurd, and btwn his family pressure to 'do the right thing' and admit it, spare everyone how guilty YOU ARE, so he confessed.

If there had been more time btwn the killings and finding SW and her children, he may have gotten away with it. I think he killed the girls first, SW saw them, he killed her and in his panic and loss of timing, never got in front of the clean up, staging..hence, he got caught.

I don't think he is long for this world...one way or the other, prison justice or his own hand.

Do you mean his first lies, or his latest admissions? Because I think the latter would have been privileged discussions with his lawyers. I don't know, maybe he did have to finally admit his guilt directly to LE.

He was/is so unaware of reality it’s not even funny. Again, I am APPALLED that he is yelling and acting this way all because, gee, my life is over. Like no kidding.

I bet he had similar thoughts right before the murders! "If I'm not doing something my "life" will be over!" Means he would have taken care over three children (or pay at least child support) and a woman he maybe secretly hated for already a long period of time. Know he knows how wrong he was and I bet it must be very painful for him to think about all the alternatives he had back than. He decided to take the quick way out of his old life straight into jail and hell for him. And I really hope that he, someday maybe, will know that even this is an better outcome for him than what he actually deserved.

Also wondering what he did to the family photo he had in his cell? Ripped it apart? Does it have any more value to him? Did it ever?

That was for Nico, her death caused his death.

Exactly! Although cases where false confessions have been made, may be cited, this is totally different. I have never ever heard of a single case where a father falsely admitted to murdering his children.

Right. Pleading guilty is far different. They've had time to reflect and speak with counsel and loved ones.

I meant the questioning that lead to his arrest, but all of it would be awesome! :D

I understand the reason they had to charge him with termination of her pregnancy, but to see it written there that she died 'as a result of' the termination is very confusing, to say the least.
To see the children's names listed there and see the admission that their deaths were committed with deliberation just makes me shudder.
