My opinion is that CW’s mother will visit him, but it’s just an opinion. I guess time will tell.

Don't feel bad, we are all human and have different perceptions. I was with you every step of the way. For me personally, i have to be 100% sure before condemning anyone, I also try and see the good in people. I also am an appalling judge of character!
For me, I couldn't see either of them, with 100% certainty, killing the girls. My favourite theory was that when CW woke in the morning they were all dead and he panicked

It is hard to wrap ones mind around a parent doing this. I was pretty confident from the get go that CW was guilty of all their deaths. Not because of any observations from videos, I think it is irrelevant and unreasonable to look for what led to their murders or a trigger. He came into that marriage with the ability to kill those children, no behavior or outside forces made him that way. The killing of the children moved this away from the dynamics between the two adults. I was certain CW was the killer because he fit the profile, male and having an affair. I know there are exceptions but mothers who kill their young children in such an intimate way as strangling or drowning, killing them with their hands, all have had previously diagnosed mental issues, drug use, etc. (Andrea Yates). SW had none of those. If it had turned out that SW was the exception and the killer of this girls, I would have felt she also came into the marriage with the same defect. Another factor is what are the odds that both parents are killers and willing to kill in that manner? Chris had choices and he chose himself.

An apology from him means nothing as far as I'm concerned. He won't find Jesus because he found the devil and was quite pleased with his handiwork until he was cornered like a rat in a cage.

Hello! Very kind of you to ask. I managed to get the wrinkles out with the steam setting on the iron lol! I did make it. It was a daunting experience but their motion was denied. Now they will subpoena my deposition and they got the pretrial conference pushed all the way until January. I honestly think the strategy is for me to be worn down.
It's surprising to me that I have to submit to a deposition to the defense, I wasn't expecting that. I thought my recorded statement to the detectives would be it unless it went to trial. And it's surprising to me the tactics used and the amount of time that this could press on. Never thought I'd be in this position, but glad I have a tough prosecutor.

ETA: I didn't know this is how the legal system works for victims of crimes. I thought that it was cut and dry, the police do their work, charges are filed then plea or trial. It's generally not that simple it seems.

Which is why I am so grateful this case got resolved so quickly. I really am. It could have dragged on for so long, and would have been hell for the families and friends.

Your interview with the detectives should have been transcribed. Ask for and demand to have a copy of it to sign the bottom of it perhaps. That way you can refresh what your answers were to make sure that you don't Veer from them.

The Rczuck’s seem like such shy, humble people who are not at all comfortable being in the spotlight. Someone else read their statements at the funerals for them. Rourke said at the press conference he didn’t know if they planned to give a statement at the sentencing, but he offered to read it aloud if that would make it easier for them. I don’t think there’s a thing they could say that would have any impact on CW or the ugly people of the world. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

While the family's hearts were breaking they were still able to think of CW's family. Despite the harrowing circumstances, Frankie Rzucek asked that people pray for his brother-in-law's family as opposed to hating them.

"My prayers to his family," he wrote in a thoughtful Facebook post. "I pray people don't harass them or wish harm on anyone. God will take care of everyone and everything. They are our family and are hurting just as much."

Frankie did express in no uncertain terms what he thought of CW though. I won't repeat them here as it's unnecessary and he was entitled to express what he felt when he had just learned who was responsible for the deaths of his loved ones. The article elaborates.

It’s barely been 3 months since the family lost Shan’ann, Bella, Cece and Nico and their grief will still be very raw and painful. If anyone was to speak on their behalf, I think Rourke would be the perfect choice if that is their wish. He’s the one person who has seen both sides of this event ... the cold-hearted evil that is CW and the devastating effect it has had on this lovely family. Their loss is huge.

I admire Rourke. He’s not only a man of strength but he’s shown he’s also a man of compassion.

I think LE are trained and experienced in determining whether or not a person is being deceitful. From the beginning I felt if they were so sure they had good reason to be. But it was the evidence, his behavior and his words that convinced me he was lying. Many comments were made in previous threads that behavior is not evidence, but to me it is important. Of course they needed solid evidence to prove that he was guilty, but from so many comments pointing out what they noticed in his interviews, what he said, trying to figure out if the events could have happened like he described, it's obvious that behavior plays a big role. NUA's comments to LE about all the things that weren't normal, his changing versions plus his subsequent behaviour were all HUGE red flags. They knew from the beginning, it was just a case of gathering the evidence to support their beliefs.

While I agree that it is in general a great trait, the problem with CW believers was that it meant they did the opposite with his victim -- to see the good in CW was to see the bad in SW. This is what made the comments of many of CW's defenders upsetting to all of us who saw Shan'ann and her children as innocent victims of a despicable liar. There was a lot of victim bashing in order to "stay open" and defend the indefensible. Just MOO.

He might. I was looking at it from the standpoint of his mother, not his view. Maybe it's clearer if I say, it's my opinion that his mother will want to visit him rather than that she will visit him. He may not want her to visit.

The judge should just give him the max consecutive sentences for each crime.

He will get exactly what he deserves. Rourke said after the presser:

He deserves a life sentence for each and every act on top of one another. In practicality, it doesn’t make a difference in terms of how long he’s ultimately gonna serve, but what he needs to understand is he will be serving 3 consecutive life sentences plus a sentence for Nico because of the acts that he committed against all four of them. It is important that each of those beautiful human beings be reflected in the ultimate sentence that will be imposed.

That article is dated August 22nd. I'm not discounting it or Frankie's words, but it's hard to know what he thinks now about CW's family. He may still hold the exact same opinion. We don't know. The crime was still very fresh on August 22nd.

I’m curious, how does one become able to kill their own children before they even have them? Are there signs early in life, such as killing small animals etc? We know so very little about CWs past and I’m wondering if their were any signs. I just don’t get it.

I agree. Very respectful, compassionate and experienced. For as horrific as this case is, his guidance and professionalism is exactly what the family needed.

I saw that, too. I think it's intended to include mental health treatment and physical health treatment that are the result of what he has done to the living victims. They didn't define "victim" but her family comes to mind, and this might include her friends, too.

He'll never pay - how can blood be squeezed out of a turnip? It might be there in case he comes into some money, and perhaps to also drive home the point that his actions have left many living victims.

Does he "get" any of it? I don't think he ever will. I also don't think that whoever is in charge of the "hit brigade" that took out after Shannan all over the Internet will ever get "it", either. They probably have a history of having to protect him from the consequences of his own actions, and whatever it takes to do that is justified.

Would the proceeds from the sale of their home possibly go towards restitution? And if SW had a life insurance policy, if he’s the beneficiary, perhaps that too?

I think protective custody where they are allowed to have interests and reading material but protected for their safety. Solitary is a punishment with no comforts.

Is "solitary" in a normal cell, alone, but without books & stuff? Or is it in some isolated room maybe without light, or what. I'm mixing a bunch of movies up in my head I think.

ETA I was reading backwards through the posts, now I see someone answered, but I wonder what the worst kind of solitary is, in the US.

I think he'll admit to killing everyone, but somehow insinuate that it was her fault. That she somehow "drove" him to it.

I'm not certain he'll be making admissions or excuses for what he's done. If he says anything I think it will be to apologise to the family, not that that will mean anything. He's shown no remorse whatsoever.
