Speculation;

I think we're going to find out that the girls were sedated or poisoned.

Has it ever been discussed here before that he may have burned something like evidence or packaging in the barbecue?
He grilled the evening of the murders. I tend to believe he was simply cooking, and there is nothing nefarious about it. Mass murderers get hungry too.

It’ll be very telling if any drugs were found in the girl’s system.

There was a horrendous case in London (trial this year) of a couple who murdered their children's nanny and then tried to burn her body in the garden. To disguise the smell of burning flesh he was barbecuing chicken alongside the bonfire. Fortunately concerned neighbors called the fire services because they thought the fire was too close to the house and could set the house on fire. He actually told the fireman that her body was a sheep he had bought at the market. Anyway, point was the barbecue was used to mask the smell. Not that I think CW probably tried to burn their bodies, but I'm always prepared to hear anything now.

I know that Gitana has explained how hard it would be for him to change his plea now. But my anxiety still nags at me, about him trying to weasel out of his plea.

If he comes to court on the 19th, and says to the court, publicly, that he felt pressured to make the plea, but it was ill-advised, and he can't stand by it, what happens then?

I don't see how the judge could ignore a statement like that. I am nervous about this hearing.

A murderer's gotta eat!
It's hard to look at all these details when you already know the end result because everything takes on an ominous meaning and that makes it easy to draw conclusions that might not be accurate. FOr example, pictures that before we might have just shrugged off as normal now start looking nefarious. We look for things out of place in videos, start reading into FB posts, etc. Without the full story, it's hard to know for sure what REALLY means something and what doesn't.

I suppose then it would go to trial with dp back on the table.

When he woke up Sunday. When he and the girls went to the birthday party. As they stood over the cake. Played in the yard. As they went home. When he grilled food. I don’t know when exactly he decided to kill the girls and Shanann. But I bet it had to be sometime before that Sunday. I don’t think he he got home from the birthday party and spent the night (after grilling) going completely nuts. So for me, that means all day probably Saturday (night out/got babysitter — did we ever figure out where he was that Saturday night?) and Sunday, he knew what was coming and what he was going to do. Crazy.

It doesn't matter to Shanann, Bella or Celeste if he had a 'condition'. They are still dead because of deliberate choices he made. It's just a way of not taking responsibility for his actions, which his family is apparently trying to enable. Might as well call it a mid life crisis, but I suppose a pseudo medical term sounds better to them. After Nov 19th it won't matter anyway.
Absolutely agree. I predict that once his supporters come to terms with the fact that CW killed all 4 of them, they will then pin the blame on the devil - anyone except CW himself. JMO

I think he had made up his mind long before that weekend. I think he planned to do it as soon as possible after her trip to NC and before the gender reveal party. It was the perfect time. Jmo

You’re probably right. Lots of time during that trip for him to think/plan.

He may act remorseful, but that obviously doesn’t mean he is.

This guy didn’t suddenly lose his temper and commit a crime of passion. It was both slow and methodical, and his coverup, diabolical.

I genuinely doubt he has the ability to feel remorse.

But I agree, I would love to know that he felt true remorse for what he did.

It would give him something to reflect upon over the next several decades.
I also can't believe CW feels remorse for what he's done. It's not like he flicked a switch and his family disappeared, he didn't just kill Shanann in the height of a furious rage and left his little girls alive, he went from room to room and snuffed out the life of each of his children and his pregnant wife and then loaded them up on his truck for disposal. There were tons of moments he could have stopped but he chose not to, he believed he could get away with it. If he cries, it's for himself, he's not the great mastermind he thought he was, imo.

This is off topic of the plea deal conversation, but something that has been on my mind since the get go, yet I hated to even think about it so I put it in the back of my mind, until it was recently mentioned about CW's reaction to Celeste in the plea hearing. As we all know, he called her "Rampage" in his TV interview pleading for their return. After that, I saw an interview by one of Shanann's best friends, Lauren Arnold (no I am not sleuthing), it was a news interview and link to follow. In that interview, Lauren talked abut the difference between Bella and Celeste. At the time, it lead me to think that POSSIBLY, the night of 08/12 (08/13?), CW was stressed our after having the kinds on his own for the weekend, knowing that SW was on her way home, and his "bachelor" summer was about to come to an abrupt halt. I played with the idea that he could he have snapped at Celeste that Sunday night (Gosh I hate to even think, let alone type that out) at bath time, bedtime, etc and just attacked/strangled her. If that happened could he have then have panicked knowing he had just killed his child and his life was going to be over, so he continued to kill Bella and then Shannan. But with all counts saying "with deliberation", I wanted to ask @gitana1 or any of our attorneys does that completely rule out my thinking??? (for the record, I truly think the most damning evidence will be the proof of his big hands around all three necks...DNA/brusing - that's why I think the autopsy reports were sealed.
Long explanation for a quick answer (LOL).

NOTE: for some reason I can not copy and paste the You Tube video of Lauren speaking.... Can anyone get that for me. I googled Shannan's bestfriend Lauren and a few of the same interview popped up! News( being the one I watched. TIA.

Agreed. I think it is just more smoke and mirrors in a bid to find some reason CW is not truly and totally responsible. People will shout incompetent defense, restriction from his family's input, Asperger's, and abused husband syndrome all in an effort to find some reason why an otherwise seemingly likeable husband and father could annihilate his entire family and lie about it. IMO
Yep, that's the most favoured excuse at this stage and the most bizarre, imo.

Yes, Thank You..... (after that one, a few others played while I went to feed the dogs, when I came back, there was one playing that I had never seen before. It's @ an 8:00 minute of Shanann in her PJ's, while talking about the new product tasting like mint ice cream). CW is in the entire video, holding Dieder. At the end, SW tells him "not to choke him"...... errie.....

I am still wondering if there was some sexual abuse. I was thinking, this is the ultimate taboo, something that could not be explained by any 'rage', could not be blamed on Shanann, and the one thing he would not want anyone else to know. If there was, it may be revealed with the autopsy reports, but he may not have been thinking that would still be public info if he pled guilty??? Jmo.

Gitana has said that that would have been added to the charges if that were the case.

Sorry if this was posted already and I missed it. ...

Source Says There Was A Lot Of 'Yelling And Crying' Before Chris Watts Pleaded Guilty To Murder

Chris Watts did not want to plead guilty to murder. A source told People that the Colorado dad yelled and cried before confessing to the crime. With the help of his lawyers, however, he quickly realized that he didn’t really have any other choice.

“Their evidence against him was overwhelming,” the source said of the 33-year-old — who was charged with killing his wife Shan’ann Watts, 34, and their daughters, Bella and Celeste. “There was some yelling and some crying, but eventually he acknowledged that his life was over after he killed Shan’ann. He would have been facing years of legal challenges, and best-case scenario he would have been acquitted. Worst-case scenario, he gets put to death.”

The "best-case scenario is he would have been acquitted" part is rather interesting. JMO.
