Agree. That was unbelievable. This kind of thing has been going on since he was a little boy, IMO.

I am not making any specific comment on CW's psychopathic/narcisstic nature, as I am not qualified and we lack info.

But in my dealings with such a person it was interesting to discover their relationship with their mother was a complete mess of manipulation and lying. So I would not want to jump to conclusions here. The mother may be a long term victim of this guy.

I think it’s the other way around. But he’s no victim though.

Yes, they seem to be proud that their son was leaving his pregnant wife and two small children because he 'didn't love her no more' (grammar, dad). It is like it is an excuse for him to murder?
And his Mom keeps asking what the trigger was????...... they alone just said it, “ he didn’t love her no more”. There’s his trigger Mom.

By asking what the "trigger" was, IMO she was really just asking what SW did to make him do what he did. I almost never get emotionally involved in cases, but all of those interviews really pissed me off.

Dad: "He wasn't in love with her no more."

A fair amount of sympathy I had for the parents went out the window with that statement. It's a very disturbing statement. It's vulgar, disgusting, and obscene for him to spit out that known fact as if it is a breaking news in an attempt to justify the murder of Shanann. How dare he.

This case has made me so angry. I am not the least bit surprised at his parents interview. I had a feeling the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. I see people worried about their reputation more than caring about 3 precious babies or a dead woman. That family never liked SW (they wouldn’t have liked anyone CW chose) and now they can’t let SW “win” with all of the love and sympathy she is receiving. They want to “win” so they will continue to blame her even once it’s proven they are wrong.

However, while his supporters continue to make us angry, we have to realize they are a small percentage of people who feel that way in the grand scheme of this case. They may be loud and repetitive but they are just a small group. Most people realize what a monster he is and are appalled at their mud slinging. While we see the meaness everyday on SM (in this case and just in general), most people in this world are good, kind, smart and logical. I have to remind myself of this often but I do believe it.

BBM I knew plenty of beautiful girls in high school and college who were bullied by other women simply because they were attractive. If they had good-looking boyfriends, it was even worse on them. Never underestimate the power of envy and jealousy. For some people, that's enough. On social media it seems even worse because people seem to get some kind of "online courage" and say things they wouldn't be able to say in public.
But unattractive people are bullied, too, maybe even worse.

Chris Watts' parents break their silence after son's guilty plea in murder of wife, daughters

Hopefully this will quiet those that still think he didn't do and is pleading guilty for some other reason.

I think it’s just going to rile them up more. They will continue to complain about SW but now they will also rage on CW’s defense team. They now have someone new to complain about. It will never end for that bunch until maybe a new case with a handsome killer with a pretty successful mean ole wife comes along.

But why is it so easy to believe that SW strangled her baby girls?.... Because your son, that lied to the world that his family vanished without a trace, told you so?

Denial. It is very hard to accept that her son killed her granddaughters.

Annnnd this case just got too infuriating to follow once again. No words for his parents. Actually I do but I won't type them..

What's the bet they don't have an issue with the affair and can justify that away as well. Their precious golden boy was hard done by who didn't love his wife so deserved to have an affair since SW is such a horrible person.

I think k the only honest thing in that interview was the mention of CW experiencing rage at the time of their murders. FA are known to go into intense rage. And sadly they tend to murder in a brutal fashion.

I agree with you Mitch, that CW's parents probably can justify the affair, as CW no longer loved his wife.
As they state, CW was to leave HER.
I am wondering how bad things were for SW, due to CW's parents, over the years.
They certainly did not approve of her.
We will probably hear more details once sentencing has been completed.

The words themselves were disturbing, but the way they were tossed out there felt even worse. They were spoken with, what I thought anyway, what sounded like contempt and maybe even a bit of pride. I realize that people fall out of love and grow apart, but his wife was getting ready to bear his child and he was running around having multiple affairs and spending large sums of money on at least one. While I realize that being an adulterer doesn't make one a murderer, even before he killed his family his actions were nothing to brag about.

I actually tried typing them, but WS just blocked them out. I was basically left with two lines of asterisks. :)

Yes - domestic violence cases always come back to the mythology of snapping

Somehow the victim must have triggered "perfect dad" to do it. Something made him snap.

The reality is different.

Maybe.

I think he has been bad mouthing SW for a long time

* to his parents
* to his friends
* to his AP
* to his gay lover
* to the other app hookups

I think its interesting that one of the verified insiders appeared to echo the sentiment of the alleged gay lover

Yes, CW was perfect so SW must have done something to make him murder her and the kids, right? Ugh. I feel like I need a shower.

I absolutely believe that you are correct there. I’m sure he bashed her at every opportunity, to anyone who would listen.

It certainly couldn’t have helped the relationship between SW and the in-laws.

Yes!!!!! Serious victim blaming going on. Imagine if they came on and showed some serious emotion towards their dead grandchildren and the beloved mother of their grandkids.

There are ways to support your kid without being awful. Sadly, they could have come on and expressed the sincerest condolences to all those impacted by their deaths. Especially shannans and nico's family and friends who they admit Chris was responsible for. They could have talked about their confusion and their unanswered questions, but their disbelief in their sons part.. People would understand that. They could mention questions they have about what they need answered. But no instead they come out and slam shannan for being abusive (absolutely ironic considering whose hands she died at) and gloat at the 'supposed fact' CW didn't love SW anymore and wanted to leave.

I actually question whether CW really wanted a divorce. I think he had built up rage and anger but something tells me she may have been the one suggesting it and him being the absolute sociooathic narcissist he is.. Was never going to accept that happening to him.

I have trouble envisioning him leaving her. If Personality A is the correct one (he was weak and couldn't make decisions for himself) then it wouldn't make sense for him to want to leave the stability of a marriage in which his wife took care of all his needs and basically organized everything. If Personality B is the correct one (he was strong willed and had fallen out of love with her) then it seems like he'd have asked for a separation long before he got her pregnant a third time-you know, back when he'd only had a couple of his affairs so far.

For a dude who supposedly didn't love his wife and repeatedly asked for a divorce, he sure looked like he was enjoying himself in those trip photos of hers, not to mention the note he wrote about Nico's impending birth.

IMO he played the passive-aggressive game with his family, and maybe with his friends and co-workers, about SW. She's so mean to me, she's so rude to me, etc. etc. There's no telling what he said about her. That's sad.
