I wonder if they knew about the affair when Shanann was still alive?
Delete. I didn't realize the interview was in NCAppears to me that this is the only one of the three interviews where they asked for their faces not to be shown. Coincidentally, it is the only one that is local to them. If they believe in their son, why are they hiding their faces from their community?
That’s what I thought. It’s confusing. Someone said there are in fact 3 interviews. 2 in CO and one in NC. I’ve only seen 2. One in CO and one in NC. If you didn’t see the NC one click on my link above.Delete. I didn't realize the interview was in NC
Yep, still beating that drumIf it's from his supporters than I believe it's wishful thinking by his loved ones who are possibly trying to hire outside counsel and delusionally think they can successfully withdraw the plea because CW is innocent, of course.
Wow, smh, the lack of grief for their grandchildren. I understand not being able to wrap your head around your son killing his whole family but to express it this way is just sad and deepening the wound of this horrid case even more.Exclusive: Parents of Chris Watts speak out after his murder plea deal
I was getting confused with the different interviews. I thought they were all the same.
WOW. <modsnip - unnecessary comment>To degrade their daughter in law. Murdered by their son. And never even express any emotion for their grandchildren.
As if Shannan’s parents need more grief.
Shanann's parents, Frank and Sandra Rzucek, issued the following statement about their daughter's relationship with Chris:
“Shannan Watts was a faithful wife, and the most gentle and loving mother in the world to her children Bella, Celeste, and Nico. She was also the best daughter any parent could ever hope for. Shanann was a wonderful soul.
Everyone who knew Shanann knows this to be true. Even Chris Watts knows this to be true. Yet Chris Watts still chose to murder Shanann, Bella, Celeste, and Nico. Chris Watts still chose to dump the bodies of his own family in oil tanks. And Chris Watts still chose to lie about it until he could lie no more. He pled guilty to murdering his family because he is guilty.
Monday evening, the parents of Chris Watts gave an interview in which they attempted to defend their son. In doing so, they felt the need to make vicious, grotesque and utterly false statements about Shanann. Their false statements, however hurtful and inaccurate, will never alter the truth about Shanann, and will never alter the truth about the crimes committed by their son, Chris Watts.
Shanann's memory and reputation deserves to be protected. And her family is fully prepared to do so. “
I agree with you Mitch, that CW's parents probably can justify the affair, as CW no longer loved his wife.
As they state, CW was to leave HER.
I am wondering how bad things were for SW, due to CW's parents, over the years.
They certainly did not approve of her.
We will probably hear more details once sentencing has been completed.
Agree, he viewed them as objectsand when he was done with them he got rid of them.I think he simply did not love them a single bit.
That is an understatement, they have made his case personal for some reason, it is so bizarre.I think it will do the opposite, unfortunately. The people still supporting him seem delusional. Fanatical.
This case has made me so angry. I am not the least bit surprised at his parents interview. I had a feeling the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. I see people worried about their reputation more than caring about 3 precious babies or a dead woman. That family never liked SW (they wouldn’t have liked anyone CW chose) and now they can’t let SW “win” with all of the love and sympathy she is receiving. They want to “win” so they will continue to blame her even once it’s proven they are wrong.
However, while his supporters continue to make us angry, we have to realize they are a small percentage of people who feel that way in the grand scheme of this case. They may be loud and repetitive but they are just a small group. Most people realize what a monster he is and are appalled at their mud slinging. While we see the meaness everyday on SM (in this case and just in general), most people in this world are good, kind, smart and logical. I have to remind myself of this often but I do believe it.
Yes she did, she is very sharp to say the leastWelp, @gitana1 nailed it on her predictions about what his mom would be like. I literally watched the interviews and LMAO.
Unlike some, I do not think this is a normal healthy reaction by a mother (and father) to the situation. I do not think it is how most parents would think or react were they in the same boat. I think it serves to confirm the very same stuff that was being discussed on the most recent WS radio podcast - about the typical FA's 'roots'. Not wanting to believe the horror of it is understandable, not believing the horror of it or being willing to even contemplate that it may be true, is not a reasonable, healthy response IMO.
I read their words with my mouth open.
Quote "I just want him to fight. I don’t want him to take this plea deal. I want him to plea not guilty to the children.”
Cue open mouth. I WANT; what her son wants is irrelevant. She is No.1 here and CW must have forgotten. Also, where does killing his unborn son, their unborn grandson, feature in that last part?
Quote "And he said, ‘I am so sorry. I ruined your life; I ruined my life,’ Mrs. Watts said."
Ahhem. They obviously think there is nothing wrong with him being sorry for them and himself, and not completely wrecked and wracked with guilt and remorse over taking Shan'ann's life. Shan'ann must be yesterday's news. Out with the trash.
Quote "If he’s not going to fight, I’m going to fight for him.”
Yes, I see you now Mrs W. He doesn't really exist at all. It's your fight. This is enmeshment. This is a grown man who maybe now for the first time ever is facing up to who he is. He needs to be kept well away from them before sentencing and I think his lawyer is to be commended for what she did. I am very intrigued as to her (the lawyer's) training or preparation or coaching as regards the family dynamics. Maybe there wasn't any and CW said I can't face her, please handle it for me.
Chris Watts' parents break their silence after son's guilty plea in murder of wife, daughters
MOO
Thank you Dixie.
