Yes, and her hair was styled and dyed and she looked put together. She looks much older now, like a lot. But, in fairness, the stress of the past few months has to have aged her.

I had some compassion for her desperate cries for help when I learned she hasn’t been allowed to communicate with her troubled son for months, but now that she’s bashing and blaming Shanann, I’m done.

Anyone would have compassion for a Mother whose adult Son turned her out of his life while in jail for murder charges. But not one iota of that justifies what she just did to the SW family.

For a minute there you startled me, I thought you were saying 17 August I had to go look up the murder dates. The 2 gmas look like completely different people. I noticed at the beginning of the film SW says "hi guys" to gma & gpa and gpa just looks briefly, says Hi but turns away immediately. Gma doesn't pay any attention.

So, something happened (if only in Gmas mind) between Jan 2017 and August 2017 to produce the coldness in gma. (IMO)

I think that "trigger" business came from them fully embracing all those bash SW themes on SM. Every time those podcasts/sites "analyzed" a SW video they not so carefully planted the idea that SW had mental problems. (did not want pie in face (OMG), taught kids to be liars over Christmas myths, whatever, bossed poor CW around, but all was planted with ominous undercurrent). I think Ma drank too much of that particular mean flavor of cool-aid.

I suppose it’s easy to blame someone who’s not here to speak for herself. I thank god I don’t have a mother in law, because the ones that came close were quite similar to her, little interest in their grandchildren and once my relationship ended with the first ones son, of course I was to blame. Moms need to let their grown sons be men and stop babying them.

Well, anger and bitterness take a toll as well. When we bottle up our anger and rage and walk around carrying a grudge and holding on to resentment, it manifests in us physically as well as mentally. It's exhausting to be angry and bitter and resentful. Then if you add an enormous amount of stress from not one, but 4 deaths in the family, and not "just" deaths, but murders, and not "just" murders, but murders at the hands of your own son, it has to be really bad for one's mental and physical health.

And not getting therapy (assuming she isn't given how she's acting) is not helping at all.

Looks like Cindy is coming around a bit more reasonably. Finally mentioned the girls and says it's possible he did it but she doesn't want to believe it.

"So when her daughter-in-law and granddaughters were reported missing, she initially assumed that Shanann had simply taken the girls and left.

Now, she has lots of questions and few answers. On one hand, she wonders whether his initial story – that Shanann killed the girls and he killed her – could be true. On the other, she realizes it’s possible he murdered them all.

“That scares me to death,” she said. “It scares me to death to think that he could have done all of this. And I don’t wanna go there. I don’t wanna go there now.”

I recall seeing a video with Cindy at the airport hugging and kissing both the girls (unless that was Sw's mom but I think it was Cindy.) Of course she still digs at SW. Ugh I can't even with her.

I know of only one person who tried to do something positive, and it was Susan Klebold. But Susan is very educated, an intellectual, a pacifist, the granddaughter of a well-known philanthropist. From a very different stock.

Yes, she is a strong woman and I have a lot of sympathy for her. She genuinely feels sorrow for both her son and for his victims. She doesn't bash her son's victims to justify or explain his behavior.
