I do as well.
What she is claiming he said and did, follows a typical pattern followed by numerous men before him, Scott Peterson being one of the most infamous examples.
What she says happened, would be backed up by texts and phone calls that law enforcement undoubtedly has analyzed.
She basically pulled an Amber Frey. Only instead of nailing a killer with courtroom testimony, she likely backed this guy into a corner, forcing a plea.
Absent evidence to the contrary, she’s a victim in my book.
She is not quite a victim in mine, maybe a collateral damage, but I can say that she has a very good lawyer!
Here is how I view it. I can't say I fully believe her account. Nichol probably knew that he was married but felt he was not much interested in his wife and on the prowl. Women feel such things; CW was not a nobody's ownership but sort of "swing state"; what women feel is total lack of inner loyalty to the wife; someone will get the dude sooner or later, so, why not try?
Nichol probably believed he was genuinely in love with her. For this, I am feeling pretty sorry for her.
CW, for all his poor social skills, had something that attracted women to him. Himself, I think, was always in his own world.
I believe CW loved Shanann once, but routine and her distraction with the sales killed that feeling. Perhaps something else was going on with CW that suddenly boosted his libido (I wonder about a mood disorder, because - a gay lover, a couple of APs, and at this, "let us have one more kid". Too many things).
I wonder what kind of person Nichol is. She looks intelligent, I also wonder if she likes computer games. Something prompts me to think that she and CW had more mutual interests than him and SW, and suited each other better, but I might be totally wrong, of course.
But in one way she totally matched CW's interests. She was clearly standing higher on the socio/economical ladder than he and Shanann. He lives among sales and videos and owes money to homeowners' association, and with Nichol, he has the opportunity and less jazz than at home, so to say.
What happened is in no way Nichol's fault, however. It is Chris Watts's opportunistic, inhuman mentality. "Found a better partner ----> too bad I am married with kids -----> Shanann and the kids have to go". So the guilt is his, and his alone.
And I don't think his diagnosis is NPD. One day we'll find the word for it. Today, I just call it annihilator's splitting. Between his own world he lives in and his fantasy.
He must have felt serious about Nichol. Otherwise, how would she know about the epi-pen? These are details you share with someone who you are interested in, and who is genuinely interested in the kids.
I imagine that at a certain moment, Nichol must have felt scared. Once he killed his family, she probably understood she could have been the next in line.
As to the rest, this is what good lawyers are for. She stayed low, cooperated with the investigator, and is out into the open once he confessed.
Someone once posted, "I believe she should change her name, move out of the area". The way she played it, she is out into the open, she keeps her family name, and she gets our sympathy.
One thing, Nichol Kessinger is not Amber Frey. Amber was a single, financially struggling, mom, introduced to SP by her friend who believed he was single, too. She lived far enough from Modesto not to know anything about SP's life. I believe she is in protective custody. And she risked by taping him. She is in more dire straits.
But - Chris Watts made his own choice, executed his family in cold blood, and while I bet NK is not happy with all this publicity, she should feel tremendously lucky. She is alive.
CW is something exceptionally weird. If you have no inner moral compass, then, stick to the law. Here, nothing.
JMO.
