When I first saw CW's porch interviews, I already knew a few details of the backstory. I already knew that his wife was seen on video entering the home, around 2 am. But she was not seen leaving the home with the girls. And her car and car seats were still there.

So I was already suspicious when I watched him talking to the press. And I knew, after seeing him grinning and acting so casual, that he was involved somehow.

But I showed the interview to my daughter, not telling her anything but that his wife and kids were missing, and she knew immediately too. She said 'he's not even sad or worried .'

A sister of mine was busy at work and didn't know about this case. Shanann and the girls were still "missing". This was her response:

"Omg. It is like he is fighting back his smile."

Will he be closely monitored when he goes back to his cell after the hearing and in the future? I don’t want him escaping justice by hanging or slashing his throat in his cell. This has concerned me since his arrest.

I knew he did it the moment during the porch interviews where he spoke in the past tense eg 'Bella WAS starting school'

That, and his avoidant, distancing language were what twigged me - in addition to his body language and his manner of speaking. He was so flippin' happy to talk about his shirt of all things when the rest of the things he said were so weirdly detached. JMO, though, body language can be such a crap shoot.

I'm a few pages behind, so I apologize if this has been asked and answered already... Just worried that our legal experts may be offline by the time I catch up....

Are we certain that the sentence will be handed down by the Judge tomorrow? I ask because another case I have followed from day 1 recently had a Sentencing Hearing, where we all thought we'd learn the final word, but it was merely submissions from Prosecution and Defence. The Judge's decision will not be heard for another month. Mind you, that case involved a guilty verdict at the end of a lengthy jury trial, not a guilty plea... and that one is in Canada, not the US.

Maybe I'm cynical, but I've continuously wondered how much of the hateful comments about Shanann have been astroturfed by CW's family, and how many came to be simply because someone "got the pump started" and showed it was a-okay to even say things like that online about the victim. Acknowledging that victims are human and fallible just like the rest of us is understandable, but some of the stuff said about SW is really truly beyond the pale and absolutely baseless. MOO.
I agree. In addition, I think there is a small minority of women who view themselves as constantly in competition with other women--even dead ones. If they find themselves lacking in comparison, their immediate reaction is to try to tear the other woman down as quickly as possible in the mistaken belief that doing so will make themselves feel better. A beautiful, vivacious, strong, much-loved woman with beautiful children and a big house and lots of friends who always seemed to be having fun can arouse a lot of jealousy with those types, sadly.

@BabyButterfly
Did any of Shanann’s friends ever tell CW his story sounded a little fishy? Did you all discuss it amongst yourselves? Or were you all too afraid to even go there?

Our group is spread around, the ones who wanted to say something to him, already knew he had deleted his FB and messenger. CW didn't have a lot to do with any of Shananns lupus friends. A few had met him, but didn't have his cell number to call him. This would be a good question for @Colorado303 maybe? She was at least in the area. We talked a lot amongst ourselves, so many questions!

When you watch the interviews now, knowing what he already knew, they are even more disgusting.

When he was being interviewed, it was right after he killed them, and threw their dead bodies in his truck, to dump them at his work site. And he was able to get a good nights sleep, get himself all groomed and dressed up nice, to greet the day. I cannot even imagine.

When my neighbor's baby died of SIDS, I had to help her get washed and dressed, after 3 days of her crying inconsolably in her room. There is no possible way she could have been all rested and cleaned up, and smiling the next morning.

According to Scott Reisch’s last podcast, if someone in jail or prison really, really wants to commit suicide, they can find a way. I don’t personally know, but I am assuming he might know something after doing criminal law in CO for 24 years or whatever he said. Hope this helps.

I agree. That's how I know the murders of all three were premeditated. No way did he struggle in coming to terms with any of their deaths.

Will he be wearing the orange jumpsuit or his own clothes for sentencing?
Unless he's trying to impress the Judge, I don't know why it would be necessary for him to wear his own clothes. I believe Defendants in custody do not wear jail garb at trial believing it may prejudice the jury. It would be his last chance, so I guess we'll have to wait until tomorrow....

We initially heard on the news that a friend had called Shanann in as missing. That's when I knew something weird was happening. Then watching the smirky porch interview cemented CWs guilt for me.
Same here. When I heard the LE who did the welfare check did not find anything unusual, my mind instantly went to he killed them in a manner that left no evidence behind, nothing to clean up. I never thought Shanann killed them. For a previously loving mother to kill her children by strangling is unheard of unless there is another factor involved, disgnosed mental illness, drugs. That method of killing is very intimate, I felt if she had killed them, it would not have been by strangling them.

Thank you for noting this. It is one of the reasons that it was so difficult to have to hear out SW’s possible involvement here for so long. As Gitana1 once said, he would have to have had brain damage of some kind to act the way he did after the murders and NOT be fully responsible. It was so on point for me.

I laughed when he said he wouldn't take the case even if the opportunity arose because he needs to put food on the table. Telling it like it is! :D

Wasn't a fan of his but I think he realized CW was guilty beyond a doubt, the DA has seen the autopsies and every other single bit of evidence plus CW took the plea. But it was good of him to speculate what could have been, gave some, hope.

Did you get a chance to see the Scott Reisch livestream? Reisch says when CW gets to his final destination, the one before Hell, prison, he’s not going to be treated as special, unless someone from Weld County recommends it. If not, there are plenty of child murderers in jail, and he’ll just move on in amongst the general population.

I would guess he has to wear jail garb as he had to wear it at the previous hearings that were televised, and he was fully expected to go to trial still at that time.

I hope I'm wrong, but I have a feeling that once the autopsy reports are released to the public, it will be even worse when we find out exactly what he did to his family.

It also came across to me that the reporter didn't believe him. Whether that's my imagination or not I don't know.
Yes --annoyed and in disbelief!!

I agree, I need to know, but am scared to find out at the same time.

On that note, I'm going to try to sleep. It will be a long day tomorrow.

Yep, he certainly didn’t seem genuinely upset about his missing pregnant wife and small children. Very relaxed and calm, eager to answer any questions. No signs of crying, lack of sleep, panic, fear, worry, just nonchalant and devoid of any feeling. Imo

I thought she was there with the kids for four weeks and CW joined them for the last week. Have I had that wrong all this time?
Edited to add, I agree, I don't think missing his wife was a problem for him at that point.
IIRC it was 6 weeks and yes CW did join them sometime during the trip. Regardless my point is CW was with the AP appx 2 months. 8 weeks . 8 weeks before the murders. So yes seems to me CW was already involved w NK during this vacation
