'Monstrous' Chris Watts, Who Murdered His Whole Family, Will Spend the Rest of His Life in Prison
At Monday’s hearing, Shan’ann’s parents and brother read a series of emotional statements mourning the loss of her and her girls and excoriating Chris for his crimes.

“What kind of person slaughters the people they love the most?” Frankie Rzucek, Shan’ann’s brother, said in a statement read on his behalf.

Shan’ann’s father, Frank Rzucek, repeatedly referred to Chris as a monster and an evil person.

Said Sandra Rzucek, Shan’ann’s mother: “I have no idea who gave you the right to take their lives but I know God and his mighty angels were there in that moment to bring them home to paradise.”

At the sentencing, prosecutors said Chris strangled Shan’ann by hand and smothered his daughters.

Rourke: The defendant strangled Shan’ann to death with his own hands. “We know that he slowly took her life the morning of Aug. 13th. We know that this was not done in an uncontrolled, vengeful manner that he tried to describe to agents from CBI and the FBI. If that were the case, you would expect to see vicious, horrible bruising about her neck, shoulders and face. You would expect to see the hyoid bone in her neck broken. You would expect to see some kind of defensive wounds on his body as she struggled and fought for her own life. None of those are present. The only injuries that were on Shan’ann’s body were one set of finger – bruising – what appear to be fingernail or finger mark bruising to the right side of her neck.

We know that our experts will tell us that it takes 2 to 4 minutes to strangle someone to death manually with their own hands. The horror that she felt as the man that she loved wrapped his hands around her throat and choked the life out of her must have been unimaginable."

Well .. If nothing else, no trial, no sordid made up nonsense to get CW out of his punishment, justice for the girls, justice for SW and Nico. Now hopefully healing for SW family.

I hope CW doesn't rear his face in a few years with some BS story and this is the last we ever see of him. What an utter waste and a shame...he didn't have to do this...just LEAVE.

How disgraceful that both Watts forgive their son. My blood is boiling that they could even consider calling Shanann their daughter!? How dare they!

I'm with you on that. Now I can understand what kind of upbringing he had. If he's so easily forgiven for pre-planning and intentionally murdering his wife, and their grandkids.. I can imagine he's never been held accountable for anything growing up.

I can tell you now if one of my children murdered my grand babies, I sure wouldn't be forgiving so easily. I may make a statement like 'hopefully one day I can forgive you'. It's not like he murdered a random stranger they have no emotional ties with.. It's their grandkids!

So pleased with the judges sentencing...especially honoring Nico as well. Overall I feel sick with sadness and horror at what he did. Sad to see him show so much emotion for himself being sentenced. Shame he didn't have any of that for his family

He texted a co-worker the night before that he would take care of the site where he dumped them.
He was planning a trip with NK while Shanann was texting him trying to work on their relationship.
Shanann sent him relationship books and he threw them away.
He called to remove the girls from school, and called a realtor the day after he killed them!
