Rourke: I think she was absolutely instrumental. She made phone calls to Frederick PD within several hours of this act and this disappearance I think only benefited LE. Being able to have LE respond to that house before the defendant came back and was able to do any other clean-up or getting rid of evidence, I think was crucial to this investigation. She’s obviously here and I want to extend our thanks to you for that very timely response and thank you for all you’ve done.


Order of deaths

Like I talked about earlier, we just weren’t able to ascertain time of death of any of these individuals. So to say that Shan’ann was deceased before the girls or vice versa would simply be speculation.

After reading the autopsy reports, I found nothing surprising in them.

The DA made us aware beforehand of the injuries to Bella, to include the mouth wound and scape on her backside.

Shanann died from strangulation. The kids died from asphyxiation. The bodies of the children were saturated in oil, to include their clothing.

The clothing is the most important part to me. It appears that all the victims were dressed for bed.

Not Shanann. Unless she wore a bra to bed.

I know all Of our Hearts are breaking tonight. I’m glad it is over and will pray for Shanann, Bella (xoxo), CeCe and Nico.

My heart also breaks for CW parents. I like to think his mother regrets those interviews now. The degree of grace exhibited by Shanann’s family is nothing short than an example to all of us. May God Bless Them with Peace.

I keep on thinking of the picture that was posted on here of him and the girls at the birthday party and he is looking over their shoulder I believe at the cake. I can not find the picture because it would take me the rest of my life on here but remember thinking that while he is looking he must be thinking,,,,,ok, when we get home I am going to do this deed. So So horrible!

That’s what we’re discussing/disagreeing on. Some women say they do sleep in a bra.

The fact that she wasn’t wearing pants, tells me that she was atleast getting ready for bed at that point.

They all would have heard about the previous interviews with Mrs Watts (and husband), bashing Shan'ann.

Maybe she erased everything because she was ashamed to know someone like CW. I doubt she wanted to intentionally hamper the investigation.

I think she did not want the publix knowing some of the nasty things they said to each other. Maybe nude photos also.

Apparently, some women sleep in their bras, especially when pregnant. She was only in her underwear as far as anything on her legs. All of them had on tops and their underwear.

I thought that I would be elated at his sentencing, but I just feel sad about the whole sorry business.

I am the same. I'm headed to get my babies (3 years and 1 year) and can't wait to hug them. Children are innocent and I just cannot understand why these babies were brutally murdered

I already answered this, but I do. And actually, until this moment on this board, I didn't know any woman who DOESN'T occassionally sleep in theirs.

Will the house be put up for sale now? CW was probably counting on that equity to snare his new victim via wining and dining. I cant get over that he called a realtor that morning.

I'm not surprised he contacted a realtor because he told the Thayers that he was planning to sell the house the next day.
They 50K paid in equity and had approx 100K (up for debate) of appreciation, so 150K less selling costs to collect all for himself.
He probably thought he would just get all of Shanann's Thrive income (about 80K) by default as well.
Although not his primary motives, that would sure would have given him a lot of extra funds to woo NK with.
