That's a good point about SW coming back from NC. CW was no longer going to be able to pretend his divorce was "final." SW's moving forward with a big gender reveal party the next weekend. He's supposed to be divorced and getting a new place. So he probably felt the self-imposed pressure. Instead of just telling SW, "I AM LEAVING YOU AND WE ARE GETTING DIVORCED."

How stupid that this new relationship with his "girlfriend" of about 2 days was the love of his life and he thought it was going to work out happily ever after. (And that she would never question what happened to his missing family.) He was completely in the infatuation stage - new, fun, sex, nice lingerie, no responsibilities, no daily stresses - all the fun of new relationships. (None of this is a knock on the girlfriend.) And you have your wife leaving you homemade meals in the fridge while you get to go to fancy restaurants and plan secluded resort trips with your girlfriend. It's not real life.

Still... plenty of married guys get caught up in affairs and young girlfriends without ever resorting to this kind of violence and criminal behavior. I don't think we will ever get answers we understand.

I just cannot understand how these geniuses (scott Peterson was similar), can lie so boldly to their affairs and think the affair won't find out?

Are they that delusional and callous that they think no one will really care and the news about the missing, pregnant wives won't be everywhere?

How did he think for a moment that it wouldn't come out that there was no divorce?

I think they're just so used to manipulating and lying and getting away with ut they truly can't imagine anyone not believing them.

And they are so devoid of human emotion they seriously can't foresee how a disappearance like that would become such a big, horrible deal. I guess they just can fathom the grief and fear and desperate efforts of friends and family and LE to find them.

It's bizarre as hell.

Who gets the restitution that he'll be paying through his prison work? And will Shanann's family receive the life insurance? I couldn't hear all of that answer.

I don't really have much to say except it's so sad. It's so senseless. I grieve for Shanann's family who has to spend the upcoming holidays without their joyous little grandchildren and beautiful daughter.

The DA acknowledged the advantage that LE had by arriving before CW did and could do any kind of cleanup or hampering of evidence. He then thanks NUA for all she has done. She is a hero!!!!

The DA also states, that the most compelling evidence was when LE arrived, the house was LOCKED from inside.
LE required to wait for CW to open the Garage.

I worry about how the girls were treated in their final days. How could he have lovingly put them to bed and met their bedtime needs, when he was planning on killing them? I worry they were emotionally abandoned and confused in the lead up and I feel so desperately sad for those little girls.

I just told my husband... it made me so sad that their little fingernails & toenails were dirty. In SWs report it specified that hers were dirty with sand & debris, but it didn't state that with the babies which led me to believe theirs were dirty when they died. He didn't even bathe them while SW was gone. So yes, I do think they were neglected while she was gone. Most likely, emotionally & physically. So incredibly sad. It just makes me sick.

Those who were around during the Jesse Matthew case(s) may recall I ended up with a bit of a crush on Police Chief Timothy Longo. Well, District Attorney Michael Rourke now joins him on my list of fantastic law officer crushes .

Otherwise, after today’s sentencing and presser, I’m left feeling relieved that this is over but still incredibly sad. I can’t imagine how friends & family are feeling.

I’ve been convinced from the start that LE had compelling evidence to charge CW as they did, and suspected that the electronic (phone & GPS) might be a crucial part of that (I actually shouted and punched the air when this was discussed at the presser).

I think the only thing that surprises me (other than the g*dawful podcast people & their SM groupies, but I’m drawing a veil over that & them), is just how STUPID he was!!! But I’m very glad he WAS so stupid!

I keep coming to the conclusion that they must think themselves sooooo much smarter than the average bear that they genuinely believe they're some sort of chessmaster who will never be caught - much like N-types tend to view themselves above everyone else in social hierarchy and thus better and exempt from showing those "beneath them" things like basic manners. Or, y'know, not discarding their family members like old, broken toys. MOO.

I already answered this, but I do. And actually, until this moment on this board, I didn't know any woman who DOESN'T occassionally sleep in theirs.

I never have, 4 kids and never did pregnant either, probably should have though . I hate wearing one, I can’t stand feeling restricted.

I think they make just a few cents a day once they have a prison job so I don't know what that will pay for. I think I heard everything is in probate but eventually, hopefully Shanann's family will get the house equity and life insurance proceeds.

I think you are right. He said she "hampered" the investigation.

That's the thing, pretty sure all texts are retrievable and they certainly would've gotten all the data from the carrier had this gone to trial

First post here. I couldn't read along any longer! With the news brought out today that CW texted a colleague to indicate he'd do the site visit the next day, a new possible scenario came to mind. Maybe his plan all along was to kill SW only. He may have even dug the grave prior to that night. Maybe there is some truth to the idea floating around that Bella woke up and became a witness, so CW "had" to kill her too. That could potentially explain Bella putting up a struggle (can anyone chime in if that makes sense or not?). She was awake. Then, he killed Celeste, who was sleeping and never quite woke up enough to struggle. MOO

That’s what we’re discussing/disagreeing on. Some women say they do sleep in a bra.

The fact that she wasn’t wearing pants, tells me that she was atleast getting ready for bed at that point.

I think this is the last photo of SW taken in the airport restaurant. If she was found wearing a different top then I think maybe she had dressed for bed.
