I wonder if the prison commissary carries Sephora?
I doubt it. His pretty complexion will suffer without his favorite moisturizers.
CW will just have to make do with *ahem* K Y.

Was it worth it, Chris Watts? Well? Was it?
Well-l-l-l, now he is not having to come home to a woman who was 10 times smarter, had 10 times more energy, 10 times more successful, and 10 times more well-liked by her many more friends than he had. He won't be stuck with those female children when Sha'nann would go out to a work meeting or with her friends, he would not have to clean up after the girls from time to time, and he could be with his new love who didn't have any little children. Well, maybe not now.

Yes, it was worth it until today...

Now, he really will be cleaning his "house" up -- washing floors, cleaning the shower rooms, keeping his new little room clean, his meals won't be cooked by Sha'nann any more and he won't have to cook. His meals will be ready for him, good, mm-mm-mm, and hot and tasty. He can exercise, his clothes are provided, play cards with the guys, but he must watch out for those other big guys makin' eyes at him. No wife and no little girls to get in his way. Just the way he planned it.

Ahhh, the good life.

The last couple of days I’ve been so pumped up and angry and ready to see an orange CW in shackles and sentenced to the Max. Couldn’t wait, “Throw away the key! Monster!”, all that...

Today at that point when sentencing was finally imposed, and despite I paused and rewinded a million times “Deputies I respectfully ask that you take this defendant into custody and have him serve the rest of his life in the Department of Corrections”, there was NOTHING happy about it. Just sadness. Deep, deep sadness. For everyone. No cheering here or “Free Fries” like they had for Bundy...

His horrifying actions resulted in tragic loss for everyone.

Even with these you would think he would've had scratches from her nails or something. I guess it's pointless because he managed it somehow. Poor woman

The way I imagine it, her hands were probably tucked up under the blankets, to where he could block them by pinning the blankets down with his knees and legs. Not only was she fighting his strength, but her arms and hands were trapped under the blankets. He had a huge advantage over her, and by the time she could have possibly gotten free, the blood flow to her brain would have been severely restricted enough that she quickly faded out of consciousness... So freaking evil. It's tearing me apart, I have this very clear image in my head of how this happened and it terrifies me, thinking of how vulnerable I am, we all are, when we are in that same position Shanann was.

Join us at 10:00 PM Eastern (about 25 minutes from the time I made this post) for a live broadcast of Websleuths Radio. Tonight the sentencing of Chris Watts. We have great guests and we want you to join in by calling us at 713 955-0606 http://tobtr.com/s/11080117

713 955-0606

Thank you for the podcasts. I've very much enjoyed listening to the last couple with you and Gitana and Lil and your other guests.

I hope Mr Thayer will go on there one day. Shanann seems to have been surrounded by so many good people in her life....her family, the Thayers, NUA, @Colorado303, and many others.

He'll no doubt miss his spiffy shirts and steak dinners.
Prison food is not the finest and I'm sure his clothing will be scratchy!:D

To the person last thread who said he’s starting to look like he did a few years back.... I agree! More pudgy face today, all the color gone from his skin and lips.
Yes, he'll get that pale, gray-ish "prison complexion." Lack of sunlight for most of each day has a certain effect on prisoners -- mentally and physically. They just look washed-out and pale. Ick. It's a pity.

It's Justice Day, WS Peeps!! Justice is seldom perfect and this case is no different. I watched the hearing today and the presser afterward and there's a ton of coverage on the local news here as well.

I watched a psychiatrist earlier dissect his behavior today and throughout this entire event and he described it as most akin to that of a psychopath. Of course, he had to CYA with a disclaimer that he had not personally examined Mr. Watts. He believes he's had a lifelong pattern of deception because it comes so naturally to him. I have to say that it seems likely.

I was so glad to see NA get her recognition as having been instrumental in this case as the presser. We have all known as much since the beginning which is why the majority of us were greatly offended by people's insinuations that she had done anything other than be the best of friends.

My heart broke for SW's family today, who are among the classiest victims I have ever seen, which is so much more than I can say for the other side.

I will say the Watts acted more appropriately than they have previously. They had to put out a statement about their inappropriate conduct of last week including the ever-popular blanket statement of "we meant no one any harm," which really seemed the least of their concerns with their smears. It was not missed that they still made no acknowledgement of Nico. I guess anything they can come up with to make him appear guilty of less works for them.

I realize I'm late in getting here this evening but there's been a lot happening in CO today aside from this case. I wanted to come read the comments of the many people I've had the pleasure of sharing the past few months with on here.

Denver Dad Chris Watts Gets Life in Prison as Attorneys Reveal Daughter Fought for Her Life
Shanann repeatedly texted her husband in the days before the murder, desperately trying to save their marriage, Rourke added. She sent him self-help and relationship counseling books, one of which police discovered in the trash.

All the while, Watts was busy scouring the Internet for vacation spots to take his new girlfriend, whom he took to car museums and sand dunes while Shanann and their kids visited family in North Carolina over the summer.

The morning his family vanished, Rourke said, he called his daughters’ school to disenroll them, as well as a realtor to discuss selling his house. “And he texted with his girlfriend about their future,” Rourke continued.

“If he was this happy and wanted a new start, get a divorce. You don’t annihilate your family and throw them away like garbage,” Rourke fumed. “Why did Nico, Celeste, Bella and Shanann have to lose their lives in order for him to get what he wanted?”

The day after his family vanished, Watts gave a bizarre interview to Denver7, pleading for their return—an interview Rourke described as “emotionless.”

Once again, I'm more than heartbroken and unbelievable angry. I hate this *****[insert whatever you want] so much! I wish him the worst! He never deserved Bella's, Cece's, Shannan's or anyone's love ever! "My daddy is a hero!" ... ugh I could vom.. all over! Sorry!

And I think, that Nichol was very very lucky, that he got locked away almost immediately. Who know's, what would have happend to her or their "new family" in a few years. I hope, that whoever blamed Shannan for this, just feels very ashamed about what was being said about her and the girls!

@idfinch was kind enough to conduct some experiments with her husband. I think you’ll find this enlightening.

another whopper to the list of CW faux paus.

the most ill conceived yet.

he made a very very big contradiction and I realise why.
he wanted everyone to think shanann killed the kids..."he seen her with his own eyes on the baby monitor strangling cece" BUT wants to also play the card that he doesn't know how they were killed.

his brain was so frazzled by now imo he muddled up TWO totally different scenarios he had thought about without realising the consequences of the shan'ann did it lie.

I imagine that's probably right. It is absolutely terrifying, what must have gone through her mind at that moment. Unimaginable

My heart is heavy. What a tragedy. It’s unfair. I just watched the sentencing video and I’m just in shock. I thought that he had murdered them after he snapped but turns out he planned it! Over another woman!
Like if Shannan wasnt enough for him. Seriously, what a woman Shannan was. What a smart, go-getter, gorgeous and kind woman. Healthy, sweet smart Bella and Cece and baby Nico. When the sentencing startsd I felt bad for him, he looked like crap but it was all because he is embarrased. I just feel like there is no hope in humanity. Humans can be demons. I feel worse than before, I can’t begin to imagine the horror they felt that night and the nightmare that Shannan’s family is going through.

Yes, all of that. Another wonderful little family gone, and her parents who were unknowing for most of that time, were powerless to help out their Sha'nann. And now nothing will bring her back.
But in this case, the scheming, selfish, stupid murderer of four was caught quickly and is now serving many lifetimes plus, plus, plus.
Her family members have each other to love and to share memories. He will have no one. And in a while -- months or years after this day, the person he will probably hate most is himself.

Reflecting here with DVR still on pause with a half hour of PC still to go, how absolutely amazing that people from all over the world tuned in and came together to see this “evil monster” get put away and justice be served as best as humanly possible. As a local I could feel the love from everyone and I hope the families did too. This is nobody’s fault but CW’s and CW’s only.

I thought that all of the statements and each and every word and expression were soooo powerful, and infinite and true in REALITY beyond words. This was no Lifetime movie. This was REAL. This IS real.

I just want to give SWs family hugs. I hope they have a strong support system in their community and with extended family

I have nothing to add to the discussion this evening. Just wanted to send out prayers to all who knew and loved SW, Bella, Cece, and Nico.
