I think that after his parents were made aware of the evidence against Chris, that they shared this with her.
I can only imagine that she is shocked to the core.
I do not blame anyone for loving Chris.
How could anyone see the absolute evil, that is the true Chris Watts?

The last couple of days I’ve been so pumped up and angry and ready to see an orange CW in shackles and sentenced to the Max. Couldn’t wait, “Throw away the key! Monster!”, all that...

Today at that point when sentencing was finally imposed, and despite I paused and rewinded a million times “Deputies I respectfully ask that you take this defendant into custody and have him serve the rest of his life in the Department of Corrections”, there was NOTHING happy about it. Just sadness. Deep, deep sadness. For everyone. No cheering here or “Free Fries” like they had for Bundy...

There would not have been opportunity for that to happen. The girls were in NC with Shanann until very recently, and then of course Shanann was home with them. Since meeting NK, Chris was only home with them for one weekend, and he got a babysitter on that Saturday night.

I thought she was in NC while he was involved in the affair. If it lasted almost two months, she must have been away during some of that time.

Yes, it's something we have been discussing since the beginning and I think a lot of people were hoping to find out. I bet LE wanted to know how everything played out as well. Imo

No one expected them to see his evil, but it is another matter that they called Shanann evil and lots of other things.

I don’t think he became who he was, overnight. There had to an emotional disconnectedness inside of him for him to do what he did. I think we saw glimpses of it in SW’s videos. He was never really present, just going through the motions. I’ve got a feeling there was some emotional abuse going on in that household. Might explain why Shanann was always slathering the praise on him, trying to get a little love and appreciation out of him, always trying to please.

Things were heating up here but the V1 took it to a completely different level & amped up the victim blaming to the point I had to leave for a couple weeks. It would be nice if she could come back & help us understand so some of that damage could be repaired & it could be used for reference in future situations. It could be a healing opportunity for a lot of people, especially her.

I dunno. It would be a hell of a chance for him to take. It would all depend on what was normal for Shanann I guess.

But the less people who could interfere, the less chance he took. Shanann wasn’t showing up in the middle of the night, exhausted after 2 trips w/in a week.

As far as I know, they communicated the following day.

I haven’t heard anything about him texting the mistress that night, atleast after SW arrived home.

He texted that he had been busy then acted normal throughout the day before he told her his family was “lost” at 3:45

He sure had been 'busy'. It is a real chore to have to murder your whole family. What a bore.

I really hope that the world will leave her alone. I don't know what she knew, but plenty of other people have made that same mistake and it did not turn out like this.

Most outsiders didn't truly know what she looked like until she did the interview.

And I only know what Amber Frey looks like because she was on the stand for weeks during a high profile trial.

But I don't blame the mistress. I just want him to see that she moved on from him in the near future.

Especially since she was the one he wanted to latch to after killing his family.

Sitting here unable to sleep imagining the horror of those poor girls and Shannan, I have a couple of questions and I'm wondering what other people think.
1) did CW smother the girls with his bare hands (Rourke said there were no fibers present to indicate anything else was used). That horrifies me even more. They'd have been able to smell it was their Dad. And feel it was his hand. I can still remember the feeling of my Dad's hand from when I was a kid, it was the safest hand in the world. They would have been familiar with it. And just how could he?? That shows me how he was already SO detached from them through the affair.

2)
when the DA talked about how the video filmed CW walking to his truck three times from the house, I was confused, because I had (for some reason) assumed he was inside the car port and therefore couldn't be seen. Was he walking out of the front door with the bodies in bags?

3) I wonder how the defense feel? How sickening to be given this monster to work with. Did the male Defender today have to keep comforting CW in court, was that part of his job? I noticed the woman sat next to him didn't. I'm genuinely curious because I just can't imagine being compelled to do that for my job.

I spoke w/him today and he had more tape that he reviewed and found footage showing CW moving from house to truck 3 separate times. The Da told him the footage was going to be released publiclly. My reply was in relation to speculation that the girls would have met her and she may have stayed over while the girls were there. I don't think there would have been the opportunity as the girls were in NC with Shanann for the bulk of the time.

I spoke w/him today and he had more tape that he reviewed and found footage showing CW moving from house to truck 3 separate times. The Da told him the footage was going to be released publiclly. Not sure when, but hopefully soon.

He was so confidant that he only backed the tray of the truck just into the garage door. But he could not back it in fully, because Shananns car was there. I thought that it was a double garage though.

I thought NK was a hero until today when Rourke said she was mostly forthcoming. (I’m not sure of his exact words) What did she withhold? It would have been nice if Rourke elaborated a little more, but Rourke, good guy that he is, made a huge effort to protect all of CW’s victims. NK seems like a pretty strong woman, not the type to get involved with a married man. SW was was in NC during NK’s entire relationship with CW. They went out 4-5 times a week. CW was very much available. I don’t see why NK would have suspected how deeply married he still was to SW. Everyone keeps saying she should have checked FB, but SW didn’t post much when she was in NC, and I can see how NK thought all the happily married stuff was in the past, but now, over.

Defense counsellors feel like they did the best they could for their client with the mound of evidence against him. No, he did not have to pat him on the back anymore than the female chose not to. As the judge hadn't yet handed out the sentencing and press was there, it was a move on the part of the attorney to humanize CW. In touching him in a compassionate manner, he implies that CW was affected by the remarks being made about him in a manner that he wasn't displaying.

Since I had a great view of CW’s back, I can tell you the female attorney actually reached over with a flat hand and rubbed it gently across his upper back several times. I’m almost positive I cursed out loud when I saw that. I know I cringed.
