I watched the sentencing video when I got home from work yesterday, and I was quite interested in the shaking people mentioned on here - he was doing that kind of foot wobble that I sometimes do when sat at my desk as work when I have my foot positioned awkwardly. My colleagues will point it out as it is fairly obvious and I'll move my foot to stop it. My question is do you think he was doing that delibrately to get a bit of sympathy? "Look at the poor boy, he's crying and shaking, he must be very remorseful"!

Thank you for doing this! Personally, I would like to know the content of his texts and any voicemail to SW after the murders as I would like to know if he was indeed setting up a scenario whereby she would take the girls to drive off to NC ... and just did not have time to later set the scene for this and take her car who knows where! This way he hoped they would go “missing” somewhere along the way and not from home.

I would also ask what CW described in his confession where it was summarized as “ultimately” strangling SW in the affidavit ...as I am curious if he described a big fight which would be another inconsistency with the autopsy results.

It didn’t look voluntary to me. He looked scared to death.

Twice in my life I have been like that. Once driving thru a canyon fire. Flames on both side of road. Thought I was going to die. Other was first time having a baby. When reality set in at hospital that this was gonna hurt like hell and that breathing crap was nonsense.

The shaking took over my body. That’s how it looked with CW as well. Like oh f***.

Wow, thank you. So CW even described himself as “head over heels” for NK. Something about the innocence usually associated with that description of new love makes me sick considering he disguarded his family like trash to pursue this teenage-like fixation on the new woman. Ugh, reminds me again of Scott Peterson.

Wow, he did say "morning." Good catch! CW really was setting the stage immediately so that others wouldn't start looking for them. NUA was at the house around noon. Once again, she is just amazing for getting there so fast. It is just so chilling to have confirmed that he went to work, disposed of them, chatted normal with colleagues, texted his girlfriend, and was making phone calls, setting the stage to explain his gone family and getting his new life set up, all moving forward with his plan. So many weeks of speculation and it was all so simple and evil.

It kind of puts CW's comment into perspective. 'Bella was due to start kindergarten next Monday'.

It's not so much speaking of Bella in the past tense as in 'I know she's dead', but 'I've made arrangements this morning (before I knew my family was even missing btw) for her not to enroll and start school. Not only was he playing to NK in the interviews, but Bella's school may have been watching him too.

We see his plans for a new life slowly ebbing away from him with every question. That is one very practiced liar, he really did have to think on his feet and he didn't blush once.

What sticks out to me in that interview is that moment when he says "the neighbours have cameras" and you can sort of see him realise that holy crap the neighbours do have cameras, they probably recorded me! He's so gushingly glad to be talking about his favourite shirts in just a moment, it's unbelievable.

Evil he certainly is, but an evil genius? Yeah no. His might have carried him this far in life because people generally wanted to believe the best of him and make things work with him, but the moment someone started fact-checking him and looking at his words and deeds in a sceptical light, it all falls apart. I think Shanann had been suspicious of him for a while now and something was definitely brewing --- and NUA knew that too and had a bad gut feeling based on that. People don't call wellfare checks on their friends over an idle whim.

Makes me wonder if he didn't call/text her that morning. I think the DA might have mentioned it if he had. Probably yet another lie that he thought no one would ever uncover because he was so infallible and a doting husband (not).

Funny enough I read something once that said if a person is lying and inventing a number, more often than not they use the number 3. I think CW said he phoned and texted Shan'ann three times.

I have a question about the school. Many threads ago there was a big debate about Shanann switching the girls from the old school to a new one. Some suggested it was because the mistress had kids there, or hinted that it was somehow evidence against Shanann. When the VI (friend of Shananns) was asked why she implied that we don't want to know. Her answer was quoted over and over again as if it was some kind of cryptic message. Did we ever find out why the girls changed schools?

I agree. He may have been intentionally shaking his leg because he was nervous, many people do that. But his shoulders, head and every part of his body seemed to be quivering the whole time. The fear was all over his face. He was terrified, both at his being exposed as a fraud and a murderer and of what lies ahead. Imo

A couple things that I’ve been mulling over...
1- Did the Watts have a home phone? I still think he attacked SW when she was in bed and would think she would sleep with her phone nearby. My thought is he waited til she was asleep, grabbed her phone and hid it in the couch before he went forward with his plan. Just in case anything went awry, there would be no way she or the girls could easily call 911.
2- Regarding NK deleting their phone history, I wonder if she didn’t want children and maybe said something like that to CW? I’m aware of other cases where parents have killed their kids because their new partner didn’t want children. She’s single, career-minded, in her 30s...maybe he fell head over heels for her but she wasn’t serious about him because he had children and he aimed to change that. Just speculation.

I wonder if there’s a text conversation where CW writes something nasty to SW about her pregnancy. Also remember Mama Watts said as much, like he wasn’t even excited about the pregnancy. (side note...What mother of a son woukd even repeat that? I’d be horrified if my son said that about his unborn child).

Heads up: Nightline on ABC is covering this tonight. Just starting so I don’t know whether we’ll hear anything new or not

I hope better than the HLN show the other day with Ashleigh Banfield. That was apparently a canned show that was pre-prepared for years later when the trial was about to begin. They kept talking about the jury so it was very obvious.

I guess the network didn't want to trash it, so they just decided last minute to put it up because it did not appear on the schedule until about 5 hours before the show. I know because I looked it up on my demand that morning, and then a couple of hours later it had changed to include the show. Hopefully they have new information, or perhaps it is canned also.

Yes, that's what I thought of as soon as it was mentioned that the girls were unenrolled. But that's not what was previously discussed. It was said that she had switched her girls from one school to another. The entire discussion seemed to be about the reason for the switch. Not that they were unenrolled on the first day. I got the idea that it had happened long before that. Maybe its just one of the facts that was misinterpreted and eventually became truth. I never saw the original source. I thought the fact that they were unenrolled was revealed for the first time during sentencing. If we had known that before, it just would have been more evidence that CW killed them. I don't know how that could have gotten misconstrued as Shanann wanting the girls to attend another school. It's just something I am still confused about.

I think that he blocked their airways with his hands and that is where Bella got her frenulum and gum injuries. It is horrendous and also would have taken some time.

I agree but I have to wonder...why would he think that was the best way to kill them? I mean he's obviously a coward so it would make sense that he would have covered their faces with a pillow that way he wouldn't have to look them in the eyes. Anyone have ideas why he would choose to use his hands instead?

Forgive me if someone else has posted this...I call BS. (From the advocate reading the statement of the Watts to the court during the sentencing hearing) Since when has he not had the "full opportunity" for a confession? Since when is the "responsibility" a foggy issue?

"My clients indicate that they understand that a full opportunity for a confession with all the responsibility and accountability has not occurred. And they support the family in their request that that happen if not today, at an appropriate time and in an appropriate manner so that everyone can have peace. To understand to the best of their ability the details that they need...."

Yes. Crime scene techs always bag hands to protect any potential evidence from contamination.

Likewise, the ME always documents clothing, jewelry, and other items on or around the body at the time of analysis.

This would include the bags placed on the hands.
