I wish SW RAN away before she married him. Probably felt bad for C because he complained about being abused or played the victim card.

And they do that, regularly. They find your "soft spot" and work it to the max. Based on SW's videos/comments about CW being there for her in her illness, even when she tried to push him away...that was her soft spot, he found it, and used it, to his advantage.

She told them during the interview that she knew he was married and had two children, and they were separating. That's what he told everyone else and they all believed it too. In fact we know it was true. She never claimed that she did not know he was married.

Reading these phone records you can see two things clearly, that their marriage was disintegrating, and CW only cared about NK.

He had an app called “Secret Calculator” in which he would store photos of him and NK. Some of them were “for his eyes only.”

He would have tired of NK at some point as well. She would have gotten "bossy" and there's no way Mama Watts would have liked that. CW is not capable of empathy or love. Infatuation and lust? Yes. Not love.

Thing that jumped out at me was the neighbors often hearing him yelling very loudly at SW. My first thought was that she was at least being emotionally abused. Insiders said no. It was just like this with Laci and Scott. Those quiet, submissive men marry a spirited, confident woman and immediately start trying to tear her down. Poor Shanann.

Yes, I thought that was a little strange, since everyone else said he never got angry. Obviously when someone yells they are angry. Imo

I’ve thought long and hard about this concept for years, and have come to the conclusion that you can’t teach the young these difficult life lessons. It’s the human condition. They have to learn them on their own. If only...but the young won’t listen. I didn’t when I was a kid. I thought I knew everything, and I was determined to get what I thought I wanted, no matter what anyone said. History repeats itself over and over again. Each of us is a given a life journey to navigate on our own. Part of being young is not listening, forging your own path. It’s your life, and you’re determined to do it your way. One thing for sure is you don’t want to repeat what you perceive to be your parents’ mistakes, so you sure don’t want to listen to them. It takes years for wisdom to seep in. If I had a nickel for every friend who said to me, “But I love him,” when her boyfriend acted like a jerk, I’d be rich!

Agreed, on most things. If a woman hangs with men who hurt her, her children will learn that is "normal". If we teach them this, we can teach them the opposite. We can teach them about behavior, what is acceptable and normal, and what is not. Granted, nothing impacts learning like first hand experience...but, if we give age-appropriate information to recognize early on what is truly abnormal/dangerous...and...to respect/love themselves enough to reject abnormal/dangerous, maybe progress will be made.

When my daughter first began dating, we used to talk about the process of learning about other people...one day she said (she was maybe 15-16 then, this was in the mid 90's) something along the lines of "What if every woman blew off men who were bad? Maybe those men would get tired of rejection and change?" Trust me, she did not learn that lesson by her mother's example (classic co-dependent here, but learning!!).

Teach self-respect, and reject what feels "off".
