My guess...and this is a complete guess only...is that he will admit to having thought about murdering his family beforehand but that upon coming home, SW changed for bed and he got up and they had a convo about divorce. This is why he remembers her makeup stained face and the sheets had it on there. He was hoping she would be okay with it and agree to half time custody even though he doubted it. When she (understandably) was angry and upset that he was leaving her pregnant with his son, I believe as anyone would she may have tried to scare him straight by saying then she is leaving out of state with the girls and will hire a PI to find out if he has been cheating...perhaps leading him to believe that she might be able to expose him to his friends and family as a “bad guy” and have a drawn out divorce. I think she went to sleep and her fate was sealed. I think he will say he “lost it” and murdered her in her sleep, and I think he will say he knew those girls would shriek and cry and never be the same without their mother, so he smothered them both with a pillow (even though they didn’t find evidence of this...it is still my guess). I believe he glossed over Bella’s death in the original confession...putting himself never even in the room with her because she is the only one who woke up enough in time to briefly fight back and that haunted him a little bit so he compartmentalized. I think he will minimize his pre-planning and maximize his desire to end the inevitable suffering of the girls in his mind were they to have lived. I don’t believe he will own up fully and say he just wanted to throw them away and start anew with a woman who wanted her own family with a man unburdened by an expensive, drawn out divorce, money for other children, and an ex wife, friends and some family who will hate them both for following through with their affair when his wife still carried his child (which he wanted only a few months before...before he met the mistress).

Just putting my total guess out there. It is likely spectacularly wrong but I am just curious if anyone has any thoughts on what he will say given what we know. I believe he will cop to his actions, given his newfound life with a Bible by his side, but not his thoughts completely, in the name of redemption. He has probably convinced himself he never had the more selfish thoughts he did. MOO

I can't believe Chris actually thought he had a chance of getting away with this. It's even more unfathomable to think that a father is capable of killing not just his pregnant wife, but his two little girls. This is one of those cases that makes me feel physically sick. It's scary, because looking at their family from the outside in via photos and videos, they seem so normal. They seem like the kind of family people hope to have some day. It just goes to show that you can never really know a person. I'm sure Shanann would never have thought there was the slightest possibility that the man she loved would kill her and their children. This is very similar to the Baden-Clay case here in Australia. I will never understand why people resort to murder when they want out of a relationship - why not just leave?! I was disappointed that he avoided the death penalty by taking a plea deal. He is absolute scum and deserves to rot for what he did. Not only did he murder his family, but to then blame his dead wife and say that he killed her because she had killed the children and he retaliated? All because he found someone else and didn't want his family anymore. I can't imagine what was going through those little girls' heads, they wouldn't have understood what was going on. I just hope it was quick and that they didn't really know what was happening.

Why not just release it? Why March 7 ? so odd.
I think the Murderer really cared for SW's family. So maybe its to give them their answers. Who knows.
If CW's parents want to believe he didn't kill the girls fine..whatever. Its a slap in the face to the Rzuceks to say it publicly. He plead Guilty. Its disrespectful to Shannan.

I vaguely recall this as well, when I was hyper-following/attuned to this case. I do think it could be from hearing FR Sr's statement during CW's statement. Thanks for the video and outstanding memory @NuttMegg !
@NuttMeg, @PommyMommy and @Gitana are always on top of things! They totally rock! (as well as the rest of you fellow Websleuthers, of course.)

Speaking of @gitana1 - have you seen the updates????

No! What's been going on, friend?

Chris spoke to Tammy and the other investigators on Feb 18. They are releasing the info next week. I'd love to hear your take on this.

He already admitted he killed the girls. Plead guilty to killing each one. But I agree LE would not publicize this interview with him if he went backwards from or just repeated the guilty counts in his plea deal.

I disagree. He did not confess to killing the girls. Yes, he pled guilty to their murder but unfortunately that is not the same as confessing.

Well thats a nice thing to say, but pommy is more than phenomenal, and Gitana helps us evaluate it all. Everyone contributes.

As i said before , that's just semantics. He admitted he was guilty of their murders. Confessing is something some of us do before we say 5 our fathers and 10 hail mary's.

Don't you think Shanann's family deserves the truth? Why on earth
wouldn't they go there and talk to CW if he offered them that?
MOO

Of course they deserve the truth! No part of my statement says otherwise.

As of right now, we have no reason to believe CW is giving them the truth. "More insight" is very broad. Hopefully he is; I can't imagine what else he would be doing. I'm just surprised to see the original investigators involved, is all I'm saying.

Wow, just heard the news. Anxiously awaiting March 7. I can’t get my head around what could/would be revealed. I just hope whatever it is, it’s something that helps her family rather than causing them more pain. They’ve been through enough with the scores of insane groups still believing he’s somehow innocent. I hope whatever it is will put that to rest once and for all.

Many people plead guilty to crimes they didn't commit.

(To be clear - I believe CW to be 100% guilty and I always have)

Why would they need legal counsel? That one really throws me, unless what he said is affecting the wrongful death suit?

You are apparently making a distinction between "pleaded guilty" and "confessed" . I just don't see the distinction. He stood up in court in front of a judge and said yes he was guilty of each murder and everything else he was accused of.

HUH? If he didn’t kill those girls then why say "It's over and done with,"

Ronnie Watts, said "In my heart I know he didn't kill those girls."

"It's over and done with," Ronnie Watts said of the case. "I am confused why they [the investigators] went out there in the first place."

Chris Watts, man who killed pregnant wife and daughters, provides new details on murders to investigators: Officials

Exactly. If RW truly thought his son didn't kill his little girls, RW would never let it rest, even if he thinks the sentence would be the same or that CW was trying to protect his murdered wife.

Any sane parent would be screaming from the roof tops if they believed their child was innocent. Not saying "it's over and done with."

They know.

Not to forget all the people who had to shake hands with him after he had strangled his beautiful wife and smothered his poor kids.

It seems that CW brought a extra of set of work clothes, hours later arriving home wearing a gray work shirt.
Nickole Atkinson recorded him driving up, he rushes out of the work truck is met by LE and shakes hands. The
audacity of CW pretending to be concerned about his family.

I will be so curious to hear what the audio says and also if LE believes what CW told them. Our favorite Weld County DA (sigh/slight web crush) had said at the time that they didn't try to to get CW to detail what happened (as a plea condition) because they had no confidence that they could ever believe a word that came out of CW's mouth.

So will this new release be more CW lies? Or more specifics about the the murders - order, any trigger, etc. I both want SW's family to have whatever info gives them the most comfort and also for him to just go away because he's vile and irrelevant. (And the web-sleuther in me wants to know everything to decipher of course so I can make judgments and hate him all over again.)
