NC mother captures slain family on camera during beach trip

The two families met while waiting in line for the bungee trampolines at Myrtle Beach. Michele and Shanann hit it off right away.

“She was wonderful with the girls,” Michele said. “She told me she was expecting; she was very happy. She was very engaged with her little girls.”

However, Michele said, Chris seemed standoffish.

“He didn’t seem engaged at all,” said Michele. “There wasn’t any affection. She (Shanann) was very engaged with the girls, and he was just kind of standing there.”

In the background of Michele’s picture, you can see Shanann taking photos of four-year-old Bella. Shanann’s father appears to be beside her, Chris behind her.

Here is a GIS map showing the location. I found it by using the coordinates and it matches with the Google Map photo. The application has lots of information and is not very user friendly. Took me hours to get the well account number which by the way is 01469799. There are two different videos. The short one is of the actual place where they found the bodies. The easiest way to identify it is that there are 2 storage tanks, and 1 bottom of a storage tank that was previously removed and only has the bottom showing. It looks like a dark circle. Here is the GIS map with coordinates and if you are able to use the Account Number 01469799, you can zoom in very close and see better than the Google Earth. This photo only shows the remoteness and not a close-up.

Man leading effort to repurpose stuffed animals from Watts memorial after meeting Shanann's father

A chance encounter between a Firestone man and the mourning father of Shanann Watts Wednesday night has led to a new effort to repurpose many of the stuffed animals left at a memorial at the Watts home for other grieving families.

He said the smaller stuffed animals would be cleaned and donated to local police and fire departments, who can in turn give them to kids in crisis situations. The others will be turned into blankets and other items. John said he would be setting up a private Facebook page to ask for fleece donations and other items necessary in coming days.

“I hope we can take that and share that love in moments of crisis in someone else’s life,” he said.

Haunting photos show the Watts family's last vacation before murders

In the images, mom Shanann Watts, 34, can be seen proudly snapping a photo of her 4-year-old daughter Bella, who's bouncing on a nearby trampoline, while the family was on vacation in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, earlier this month.

Michele Greer met the family while they were standing in line waiting for the trampolines. She told Inside Edition that Chris Watts, 33, seemed indifferent to his family.

"He was just standing there," Greer said.

Neighbor says Chris Watts “cared more about the dog” than pregnant wife and 2 toddlers he allegedly killed

The dog reportedly got the attention of neighbors frequently, with Hollowell telling reporters that he “made more noise than the family did..”

On the day the family disappeared, however, the barking was different.

“It was like he was being punished or hurt or something,” the neighbor said. He was just howling. Because we had a dog, I said, ‘What the hell is that all about? So we called the police and asked them to check on the dog. And it turned out that he was OK. They did a wellness check on the dog.”
