[h=1]Key evidence tossed in Colorado Springs[/h]
When Colorado Springs police threw out more than 5,000 pieces of evidence last year, they downplayed the impact.

“It sounds really worse than it is,” said Lt. Rafael Cintron, a department spokesman.

Cintron told The Denver Post in September that his department had notified the victims and “all the families” involved.

Not so.

The families of two missing women — and suspected murder victims — whose evidence was tossed learned of the sweep from The Post months after police realized those cases were affected.
“Why wasn’t I contacted? I do have some right to know that I may spend the rest of my life never knowing what happened to her,” said Delores Inman, whose 31-year-old daughter, Sherry Bynum, disappeared after a football game in 1987.
Police tossed all the physical evidence in Bynum’s case.

Shame on the police for not only destroying evidence but downplaying it! How disgusting!

I happened upon this case just now and  how dare the police spokesman say it sounds worse than it is.

I can't find any new information to add, but I hope Sherry's family will someday soon have answers.
