I’m skeptical that prosecution thinks they have found human remains. I think they are bluffing. However, let them get their act together and refile the case.

In the meantime, I predict a few vacations to Mexico or elsewhere will be upcoming.

I disagree, they could have just said they were handicapped by the expert witnesses not being allowed to testify and asked for a dismissal with prejudice. The case would quietly fade from memory after a period of time. Why would Linda Stanley risk further damage to her reputation with a BS claim? That makes no sense to me.

She won't dump him until his money is gone.

One of my questions is how much over his original retainer he has gone (I believe he spent that retainer plus some in all these legal maneuvers - and from his point of view, today, it truly paid off). But I don't think he spent a mere $500,000. At least $700,000. But even if the lawyers did all this work for a measly $500,000, my question is whether he will keep them on a retainer (probably not).

So, if charges are refiled, he'll have to fork over another $500,000 to go through another set of pre-trial motions. And it will cost more than this time did (another change of venue motion, more motions to dismiss evidence, a different AA for the re-arrest to read, etc).

And that refiling can be done at any point in his life, by any future DA of Chaffee County. New evidence is almost certain to appear, as it usually does in these cases. A new judge will look at the new arrest affadavit and make a ruling, and none of us knows how much "new information" would be needed to refile. I have a hunch that there are facts that haven't yet been placed into play, in this case, which will come in handy for a future prosecutor, if that prosecutor is eager and organized.

Now THIS set things right for me!!

I think this case was so gutted and messed up that prosecution and judge both needed a way out and used this.

Lama had backed himself in such a corner that almost no matter what happened the case was going to be appealed and his decisions scrutinized and criticized.

Iris must indeed be furious because she was going hard for that checkmate.

I don’t imagine LE are going to give that creep the opportunity to move anything.

On the one hand, I’m thinking BM and SD will stay put at the Cushman’s to keep a close eye on LE activity, and on the other hand, I wonder if they won’t high tail it outta there pronto because he won’t like the heat/attention. SD may not know everything and he may not want her aware of where they are searching.

I know George D moved out of the area. I wonder if they’re still “buds?”

I really think he'll go back to his home base; Indiana.

There's nothing for him in Colorado now, and I think he was already getting ready to leave before he was even arrested.

Imagine the feeling though, knowing at any moment it can all be over, and this time it's for real.

Leaves court thinking investigators know where he hid the body and are coming for him soon with undeniable evidence he killed mommy.

Btw, will the remains still contain evidence of a tranquilizer cocktail after two years?

I believe Barry was close to confessing when he asked for immunity. I also believe he was going to lie again and say it was an accident and Suzanne got in the way of him shooting a nefarious gang of chipmunks. Although if it was an accident where are Suzanne’s remains. IMO

The few survivors of the chipmunk massacre say it was no such thing.

BBM My guess is she is trying to save face however she can. Asking for a dismissal because they think they know of an area where Suzanne May be located sounds better than basically saying she screwed up the case by not following judge’s orders. How is anyone going to determine if this was a BS claim?

I learned something today and it’s provided me with a solid measure of peace! Unfortunately, for Bare, it likely had the opposite effect on him!

After weeks of angst over this case, IE antics, paper storms of motions, sanctioning by the judge and such, I realized after the flurry of emotion today that sometimes the thing one fears the most is the VERY thing one needs to embrace! It’s a “do over!” Not only has it removed all my angst, I believe it has transferred right over to Bare himself!! That cocky liar thinks he got his freedom today? Think again Bare! What you’ve got now is weeks of looking over you shoulder, trying to slime your way around town trying to figure out if LE are on the right track to finding Suzanne. Will he try to feel out his old buddies at the fire hall to see if they know anything? Will he try again to “influence” an authority figure as he did early in the investigation?

I’ll be going to sleep much more at ease this night confident in knowing Bare will be tossing and turning and aging ten fold each and every day .

Off topic but I just watched a clip of a reporter talking to a young woman outside the courthouse in the J. Depp trial.
She had 2 very cute LIVE LLAMAS on a leash and said she brought them in hopes that JD might see them and they cheer him up. Lol

I think we've got to temper our expectations here a bit in regards to Suzanne being found.

First, we don't know how strong the evidence of her being there is.

Second, this may have been an exaggeration in order to justify the dropping of charges without prejudice.

Only Barry can know if they're on the right track, so he's either thrilled, or absolutely terrified. Obviously I hope it's the latter.

I imagine her remains are bones by now, and they won't be able to detect any drugs. Even so, recovering her body would be an absolute game changer, even more so if evidence was uncovered that Barry may have traveled there.

Should be an interesting summer.

The prosecution had discovery violations that resulted in sanctions that prohibited over a dozen crucial witnesses from testifying as experts in trial.

The prosecution pointed to that, and their belief that they may be close to finding Suzanne, in their motion to dismiss today.

Opinion - depends on the condition of the remains. Some have suggested that she is in some sort of container. I'm inclined to think it's just remains. Depending on the air temperature and animal/bug activity, there might be enough of her left. Her hair might reveal something in terms of poisoning.

There are decomposition formulas that can be used to determine degree of skeleton-ization. It's based on temperature and number of days. Colder temperatures means less skeletonized remains.

LE certainly knows if they have been searching a location or had tips called in about a location.. or I suspect maybe her RR data came back and showed he used it to move her up there. It wasn't in at the time of the AA.
