It seems like every account I have wants me to go paperless. I’ve accidentally gone paperless on a few accounts because I didn’t uncheck the defaulted paperless choice when I was logged in online. Only figured that out when I realized the statements weren’t coming in the mail anymore. I know that’s not the case here-Suzanne would have been prudent to get her own accounts for her future.

BTW Barry’s flippant “he would have given her half” in a divorce might not have been all she could have gotten. She could have gotten a big chunk, if not half, of the value of the business. Not sure on alimony in CO but she may have gotten that after so many years of marriage. And all of the properties they had acquired during their marriage, especially if their money was commingled as it seemed to be.

She clearly decided to divorce. Opening her own bank account would be the obvious first step. I am interested in knowing whether Barry gave Suzanne an allowance...or was she on his payroll? How did she access funds? If she had to go through Barry for everyday purchases....that would be of no surprise.

I know what they mean. It's ridiculous, IMO.
I doubt, with everything I am, that any money she put into an account had NOTHING to do with Barry. She knew him well enough to know there would be h*ll to pay. Maybe her brother or father gave her that money to get out of there.
Or, it was her own money she kept in another account.
Just because HE says it was a 'secret' account doesn't make it so. That's all I'm saying.
Do we know when the account was opened? Could've been there for a long time.
If she DID take the marital funds in the safe (I'm not buying it until I see the receipts), it doesn't make sense that she stuck around as long as she did. IF that amount was deposited on the day of or day before or even week before her disappearance, I'd look at him to be the depositor. Just a hunch.

IIRC, her account was opened on 4/23. My question is...that guardianship that followed Indiana to Colorado....those things require disclosures, don't they? Was Suzanne's account not identified during those proceedings, or was it limited to real estate?

Years ago, before women were a big part of the workforce, women used to squirrel away money from their 'housekeeping' money. A few dollars here, a few dollars there, pretty soon it totalled up.
Along the same principle as throwing your loose change in a jar each night ... pretty soon you have a few hundred dollars.

With Suzanne having a funds management account also, I have wondered if she was able to hide away a portion of her inheritance(s), if they were delivered to her in separate remittances. Which they sometimes are - if CDs and bank accounts are first liquidated, then properties are later sold (or vice versa).

I opened a “secret” savings account years ago when I was still married to my former husband. I wanted to save money for a down payment on a home, but he always spent every cent that was in our joint account.

That was long before paperless statements and online banks. I just opened an account under my name at the local bank. Statements were mailed out quarterly, and I always brought in the mail so it wasn’t a problem.

I hope he doesn't get bail and goes to live with the girls. I could be wrong but I have the feeling that M1 is Daddy's girl and M2 was Mama's girl. Can you imagine how he will mentally torture her until he goes to trial? "why are you doing this to daddy? The state wants to kill me! Is that what you want? You want your daddy to be killed because of the awful things you said? " etc etc . All day, every day. Those poor girls!

Legally you have every right to pay your divorce lawyer from a joint account.
Sadly, it’s so dangerous for an abused spouse.
So yeah, either borrow the start up money for your initial filing or establish a private account or private credit card.

My heart hurts that SM didn’t make it out.

Maybe she set up an account and was digging into it. Maybe she did have plans to leave. Unfortunately, BM knew this and murdered her before she could withdraw her rightful funds. He knew all. He was not letting her go with anything.

I agree. Based on the evidence that was presented by the prosecution, SM was actively planning to leave BM and JL and SO were trying to help her. I also agree that BM knew about her secret bank accounts, but i also believe that he knew about her affair. IMO, both of these were his motives for making her disappear.

I see you also noted they were going to leave at 530pm to leave for Broomfield. This makes 100% the most sense when you are leaving on Mother's Day.. spend time with SM and then head up in time to get to bed and begin working the next day. What doesn't make sense is his last minute decision to leave at 5am and not take his worker with him, then call that afternoon to say she needed another employee and to drive up herself because he needed to get up there to work for 11 minutes while his wife spends Mother's Day alone.

Not Lyanna'a fault. My fault. That's the abbreviations I have been using for the daughters.

MaM = Macy
MalM = Mallory.

I was not aware of official abbreviations. I blame @MassGuy... He is supposed to tell me these things.

Anyway, if I have time, i will do find and replace in my write ups and update my abbreviations.

During my exit, I put my daughter as the
payable on death (POD) beneficiary
on my secret bank accounts. According to my bank it would hold up in probate & cannot be challenged.
Out of curiosity I wonder if BM reached in and took (or tried to take) her secret account money during her “missing” . Is it still sitting there? Did she have a POD? Possibly how (and when) he handled that is important and telling.

I just listened to the Craig Silverman Show (Defense Attorney podcast) dated 8/28/21 with guests Carol McKinley - ABC/20-20 & Attorney Scott Reisch about BM's preliminary. Carol commented that there was a lot of talk about sex during the preliminary including that BM alleged that SM/BM had sex 3 x daily! IMO, just more BM deceit.

This is 100% the truth. BM shared that they had you know what 3x day while in FL and that SM was romantic towards him.

I did feel bad for the daughters, but... he said it so its fair game.

So now I can't find the message. Somebody had asked me to doublecheck the time when BM went to river by Puma Path to check on turkeys or go after turkey or act like a turkey... who knows... Here is what I have:

Around 11:00 AM: Based on data, BMs phone located close to river which runs by Puma Path. BM explained as “Was looking for turkeys”.

This is what I wrote down regarding May 9, 2020 at that point of the court hearing:

- 7:35 AM: SM and JL communicated via 59 linked-in messages.

- 8:43 AM: SM and JL communicated about “move to Arizona”.

- 9:33 AM: SM to BM about a house on “King Gulch Trail” that came or is on the market in Salida.

- 9:49 AM: Call from BM to SM. BM calls SM 11x, no return calls from SM.

- ?? AM: BM to SM “Want to hike?”, SM to BM “Where?”, no answer from BM.

- Around 10 AM: Got summer tires put on (I don’t remember this at all, but wrote it down)

- 10:36 AM: SM to BM “Wanna meet to hike?”

- 10:48 AM: BM to SM “No, I am coming home”

- 10:49 AM: SM to BM “Get hot tub stuff”

PEOPLES EXHIBIT 60: Google Earth image where bike and helmet were found in correlation to Puma Path. Helmet on south side of US50, 10 feet “off”/”down” US-50.

- Around 11:00 AM: Based on data, BMs phone located close to river close to PP. BM explained as “Was looking for turkeys”.

- 11:50 AM – 12:20 PM: Based on data, BMs phone located in area of trail going towards RV park. BM explained that he was looking for a turkey that MalM had shot recently. He was not outside in the sun eating veggie soup with SM as he had claimed.

- 12:55 PM: BM sent message to Justin Cribari “Home now. Give me a bit more time”

- 1:38 PM: BM left PP.

- 1:42 PM: SM to JL “Guess who’s alone again”

- 1:46 PM: BM located on US50 going towards town. Message “Are you around to look at backhoe” to Justin Cribari.

- 2:03 PM: SM sent selfie to JL. (LAST PROOF OF LIFE).

I will try and get remaining notes typed up this afternoon.
