Found Deceased CO - Suzanne Morphew, 49, Chaffee Co, 10 May 2020 #81 *arrest*

I agree plus we have no idea where her end of life if that is the assumption occurred so the idea the pen might have captured something is probably slim to none in my mind. I think people are assuming the door frame crack occurred on a particular day for a specific reason but there is no evidence yet to substantiate that theory. Might be might not be.

I also don't believe the fractured door frame occurred during Mother's Day weekend but most likely an earlier incident.

We know that BM left a bullet on the bedroom floor, dirty dishes in the kitchen, and laundry in the dryer so there's a good chance he would have missed cleaning up any splintered wood too.

If the fracture appeared fresh, I'm not so sure investigators would have contacted the prior owners (of two years ago) to determine if the condition existed prior to the sale to Morphews. MOO

I always empty my lint trap, every time I use the dryer. Who doesn't?
I wonder if using a dart leaves evidence. Maybe a trace of blood or a trace of the tranquilizer fluid.
That could be why the sheets were cleaned. Just throwing that out there.

Good question. We know from the PH that the dryer was being swabbed for forensic evidence when the tranq cap was located in the dryer.

I don't know about any of the washed/dryed fabric but we know the sample DNA on the cap excluded BM as a contributor.

I would like to know more about Arizona texts. If anyone can clear this up for me. I feel like I remember seeing that JL and SM were discussing a move for her to Arizona and looking at real estate. Then I read texts saying BM was talking to SM about Arizona. I need clarification for who was planning on going to Arizona. Was Suzanne planning on going there? Did BM get upset she was planning on going there? Is this when he found out about JL because she wanted to go there with him? Didn’t BM have ties to Arizona already so why would SM want to go there? Sorry confused a bit about Arizona. Any clarification is appreciated. Tia

There were limited Tweets from the prelim of texts between SM and JL so I can't confirm they discussed anyplace other than Ecuador. However, after SM sent BM information about a house for sale in Salida - BM must have told SM that he had thoughts of AZ. This was strange to SM to the point that SM told both SO and JL about it. SM also told SO he'd never mentioned AZ before.

Also, it seems that even after SM disappeared, BM continued to talk about AZ. JMO.

So I’m gathering this: SM knew at this point BM was tracking her conversations with either SO (likely IMO ) or worse for her JL. Was this the point she switched to linked in or what’s app? Was this early on or way late right before she went missing and she was like omg he caught me?

The second stop was a hotel. Barry told Grusing in an interview that he had been waiting for somebody to let him in so he could get a free breakfast. The entrance to the hotel has a trash can, Grusing said, but Barry said he never threw trash away here.

The third stop was a McDonald's. Grusing said Barry claimed he put garbage from his truck into a trash can at the restaurant, but didn't eat there. He was seen on surveillance footage throwing away trash. When asked about this, Grusing said Barry called himself a "tightwad" and didn't want to pay to throw trash away.

The fourth stop was a Men's Warehouse. Grusing said that Barry did not recall dropping trash off there. There is no surveillance camera footage of him at the store. As previously mentioned in the hearing, Grusing previously said Barry spent 40 minutes in that parking lot.

The fifth stop was the Holiday Inn. Surveillance footage captured him walking across the parking lot and past several visible cameras and signs about surveillance. Enhanced photos showed that he throw out some items include a plastic tree pot, as shown in court.

Nielsen asks if Grusing's theory is that Barry drove from Salida to Broomfield carrying evidence of a murder. Grusing responded, "Yes."

Around the time of BM's arrest, there was discussion of him being packed and ready to leave his condo in Poncha Springs. IIRC PE or IE had a discussion on YT about BM telling a neighbor he was moving to AZ.

I don't remember either but we did get photos from MSM where he had a trailer at the condo. I think someone alerted LE that he was about to bolt. LE may even have kept a close eye on him themselves.

1st Bus loop where he didn't take a bus.
2nd HIE parking near an entrance door, but he did not check in.
3rd McDonald's where he did not eat.
4th car wash where he did not wash his car.
5th Mens Warehouse where he did not buy clothes.
6th HIE again, a stay in a hotel for work, but he did not work.

Not sure if car wash and warehouse are in correct order.

I believe he knew about the affair, too, even if had found out about it recent to her disappearance. He knew.
The only thing that makes me have doubts about him knowing about it is that he maintained so much self-control for the last year+, in that he didn't (want to) murder Jeff, too, and didn't blab about it when he was raging.
We've seen and heard instances of Barry losing control. How and why didn't he lose control about JL? Or maybe he did.
Maybe JL was the final straw. Perhaps he suspected (through spying on her) that SM was having an affair, and he learned who it was that fateful weekend. On the other hand, his life aka his freedom was at stake if he ever admitted to knowing about the affair. No other way about it, that is a huge motive.

Yes, Barry knew. I always have felt, in BMs statement "if one person got saved from this, she would think it was worth it" that one person BM speaks of that was saved by Suzanne going missing was JL.

Agent Harris is being asked about Holly Wilson and a conversation she had with BM. BM was accusing #SuzanneMorphew of sleeping with a man in a basement in November. He allegedly told Holly, "If I find him, I will shoot off his balls, and shove them down his throat

Have we heard what Barry was doing May 5th to the 7th when it was mentioned she went by his work site and they got pizza or maybe that was the 8th?

I am wondering if he was out of town then? Maybe that was why SM was saying it had been magical. She wasn't afraid to be alone from the 5th because maybe he was away? The text happened the 6th when she was with someone and he was gone (just guessing). She had her bike fixed then too, the 7th I believe. I think I'd feel more comfortable sending an I'm done text if he was out of town and while I was with someone (like JR). Maybe he wasn't away and was just working long hours.

I also wonder if SM was washing MM's sheets because she was sleeping in her bed while she was away because she told BM she was done. I know company was coming and that could be a reason also, but if she was staying in her room she'd also maybe wash them.

It is a little odd something off with what is said and what is done that week, but we haven't seen all the communications so maybe that would be something we would see in the trial!

I too believe they were in separate bedrooms in the latter days or weeks. I think Barry was very much in tune with what was developing...and not in some distant denial. I believe he manipulated Suzanne and purposely instilled a false sense of security....giving her the impression that he was cooperating with her. I think that made it even easier for him to monitor her activities...because her guard was down. I think Barry had to act before his daughters returned....he was playing "beat the clock" because he knew Suzanne was going to leave, one way or another, on her terms....so he injected his terms. He couldn't allow her to establish safe haven outside the home...which had become her prison...and he was the warden. I think those moments in the last week where Suzanne was euphoric were tied to her false impression of Barry's actions and demeanor. He was putting on an act...and she fell for it...hoping against hope that he was actually going to let her leave "peacefully". Funny how she used that word..."peace". The alternative is the real Barry she knew.
