Chaffee County Sheriff John Spezze has told The Denver Gazette that the investigation is open, but under Colorado Bureau of Investigation guidelines, any time a case goes unsolved for over three years, it's deemed cold.

CBI spokesperson Lisa Kohlbrenner said the Suzanne Morphew disappearance investigation does not appear in the state database as a cold case because “they are in the process of moving it over.”

Suzanne Morphew’s sister, Melinda Balzer, provided a statement — obtained by The Denver Gazette — to be read at the gathering.

Balzer remarked that although the wheels of justice turn slowly, she stands by the investigation’s “silent strategic planning, which is taking place behind closed doors.”

There really should be some type of oversight for things like this. The fact the defense can muddy waters by suggesting the partial matches were in fact some unknown potential murderer is just ridiculous.

Sadly IE pulled a fast one here, and now continues to double down on it.

IE is, apparently, also a liar that lies. Surely there is something that the state bar or the courts could do to hold her accountable for the lies and false statements she is making. IMO

I look forward to the crash and burn coming her way.

Putting feelings aside none of them live in Salida nor does the Moorman family so not surprised no one made the trip from either side. If the media would have caught wind either side’s family were there it would have been a circus in my opinion.

and that is exactly as you said it would be.
That community put a LOT of work in.
I have enormous respect for them.
I'm glad people like them are there and caring and made such an effort and still do.

The only incident I recall is after the Judge dismissed the case without prejudice at the Prosecution request, IE had a little press conference outside in front of the Courthouse and she got really nasty when LS asked at question.

I personally feel that it was LS choice to leave her job at Fox 21 in Colorado Springs for a job in Denver. She had recently become a newlywed so perhaps his job is up there. Just speculation on my part.
