On the Friday before Suzanne disappeared, Melinda received a text from Suzanne that she has
shared only with authorities.
In that text Suzanne shared the struggle she was having with Barry. That text message, Melinda said,
is only for a court of law.

——-
I have not been able to find the contents
of that text. Even the DM doesn’t have it.
So when BM does go to trial, hope it is powerful with the jury.
JMO & hope
Realizing we haven’t seen the text in its entirety…

Police interviewed Suzanne’s sister Melinda Baumunk, who revealed a text Suzanne sent her two days before her disappearance that read, ‘It’s hard dealing with the harsh abrasiveness and having to show respect. He’s been so abusive, emotionally and physically. There’s so much… I went thru a period of acceptance and I feel more angry now. Anger at what I’ve allowed.’

Baumunk told police that this was the first time she was hearing that Barry was physically abusive and when she heard of Suzanne’s disappearance three days later, she said 'damn it, damn it damn it' to herself because she was certain that Barry had killed her.

IMO there will be no civil case. Mountain lion had it for supper.

What if Barry is wrongly convicted?

Oh, he won't be wrongly convicted. (Quote JGrusing)
OMG, you are cracking me up here, LOL

By the tone of your posts, I think BM can cross your name off of his prison pen pal list:D

A package deal?

Want me to send SD to retrieve it?
OMG! Too funny and very clever:D

I have no clue what made me write package deal. I meant flat rate.

I agree. After he flung the bike down the bank, just before he reached Highway 50, he drove west (on an elk horn hunt!) past where the helmet was chucked and went another 2 miles west on Highway 50 paralleling the S. Arkansas River (it is really only a creek in this stretch). There was no reason to continue going west for 2 miles unless another "Suzanne item" needed to be deposited to reinforce the idea of a perpetrator taking her to the west, the opposite away from Mr. Morphew's route to the wall job. The phone seems like the ideal item but it had to be in a condition where data was destroyed for obvious reasons.

Since he could turn around at any time I would think he threw it out somewhere near where he actually did turn around in Garfield. At that point there is a slope of about 160 feet down to the River.

Do you think he might not have intended the phone to go into the River since it might be washed away and not found? If so, it implies he destroyed, or thought he had destroyed, the phones data and perhaps it inadvertently got into the River and has not been found. The Arrest Affidavit makes clear that Mr. Morphew thought LE not found her phone (pages 58 and 79 of AA).
Apologies in advance for a really dumb question but if he did physically destroy the phone can data on it still be retrieved without having the physical phone - like her notes, call records, texts, photos, messages, location data? Do we even know the exact location it went silent or just vaguely near cell towers?

bolded and underlined by me

Many thanks to @10ofRods for continuing to try to educate us all on how the science of DNA works.

Iris doesn’t want to be educated on DNA because her MO is spin and shriek misinformation until someone believes it.

Unfortunately for the previous prosecution of SUZANNE’s murder, committed by her husband IMO, a judge allowed himself to be blinded by the spinning and shrieking of Iris.

Shame on him.

Nothing about the DNA was “obscured” by the prosecution as alleged in the post above.

Iris just chooses not to comprehend what she is being told, as that isn’t at all helpful to her defense of BM.

She then decides that “partial matches“ are “matches,” or Cahill misrepresents them as such, and away we go.

Shriek and spin. Shriek and spin.

If I understand correctly, the DNA found in the glovebox is not, and never will be, a “match” to the rape cases in those other states. That rapist was not anywhere near SUZANNE’s car.

Part of problem is the verbiage used to describe the DNA found, and what the testing showed regarding that DNA.

And part of the problem is Iris and how she has chosen to defend murderous husbands—with obfuscation and and obscuring the truth of what she reads.

Or is she actually not able to comprehend what she reads? Hence the shrieking and spinning? IMO, maybe.

Cahill, not being a DNA expert, was absolutely NOT the person who should have been answering DNA questions. And he should NOT have been allowed to do so after it was discovered he and defense lawyer Iris had a conversation the night prior.

Let’s put that little gem in the same box of questionable antics as BM’s girlfriend SD hiring a lawyer with a tie to Judge Murphy and forcing him to recuse himself from overseeing SUZANNE’s murder case.

Wow, wasn’t that a coincidence. Not, IMO.

MOO. IMO. Thanks for letting me vent a bit.
Spin and shriek - yes, perfect just like a thumping shrieking leaking washer walking all over the store room.

Not appropos or relevant to anything much really - but reading again about Barry taking a shower and leaving towels all over the floor really raised my hackles all over again. I imagine a married lifetime of Barry never picking up after himself, but leaving it for Suzanne to do. So entitled. (I'm not saying my hubby never leaves stuff on the floor, but if he does, he hears about it from me! :)) I wonder if maybe Suzanne had tackled this early on in their married life, if things would have been any different. Probably not. And I don't mean to be victim-blaming.

Last SM phone ping 4:23 am Sunday 5/10 approximately 11.5 miles west of the Poncha Springs tower, visible on Google Maps at the storage area behind Salida Spa and Stove.
The Morphew's house is 8.5 miles west of the PS cell tower, so her last ping was about two or three miles further west up hwy 50 toward Monarch.

Iris's emotional reaction at the table during TF's verdict got my attention.

On another case and I cannot recall the defendant's name, but he was charge with murdering a female. When the verdict was read, she was crying, her body up against his while she rubbed his back - ick o_O

Then after BM's case was dismissed, she skipped, hugged and celebrated walking out of the courthouse. Not a good look at all, IMO.

Once, twice ... but three times appears to be a pattern here. IMO

Here’s my wonderings for tonight:

If the murdering murderer who murders took down the trail cams or possible mini indoor cameras -
What day did he delete the app(s) from his phone? And would this data be available to the prosecution and LE with a warrant for that data? Meaning he ended a contract or service.
Longshot - Maybe he didn’t delete this info and he still has it.

Seems odd to me on the surface.. but what if she was documenting that HE was with her. Did she have a bad feeling about something and she sent that photo so they would know their dad was with her at that time if something happened to her?
How many times do we hear of a murder victim making the statement, "if something happens to me ...." prior to their death? Suzanne made it clear that she did not feel safe with Barry, yet she remained with him. It's the Frog In Boiling Water Syndrome.

I don't think he put her phone with her body. He tossed it somewhere and I think he was looking for it. He told LE she was riding with that helmet the jacket and her phone. He left the bike, then the helmet for police to find. I think he was wondering why they didn't find the phone! He had to go look himself.

He knew where her body was and he was not going south for any reason.. keeping all the focus up by the house and acting like he was bothered her brother and the searchers wanted to come there.. all distractions from where he knew she was.
Speaking to LE on Mother’s Day at 7:10 PM after returning from the “wall job", Mr. Morphew said that Suzanne "rides her bike regularly and usually leaves between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM. (Page 5 of the Arrest Affidavit).

As you note, he claimed she was riding with her phone, jacket and helmet (confirmed on page 3 of the AA). Both the phone and the jacket (or jackets) would have been ideal props for Mr. Morphew’s staged abduction. Mr. Morphew apparently thought the phone would be found, suggesting he left it where it could or likely would be found.

As far as the jacket(s) is concerned, I did not see any mention in the AA of these being found.

Suzanne is wearing a turquoise jacket in two of the three biking selfies below, from page 10 of Arrest Affidavit, with a royal blue jacket over it in one of them. It was noted in the AA that Mr. Morphew entered the hotel in Broomfield at 8:46 AM on the 10th, carrying a “piece of clothing with blue-teal coloring” (photo below, from p. 35 of the AA). Maybe it’s the lighting or the photo quality, but to my untrained eye there is a striking similarity to the “piece of clothing” and the middle photo of Suzanne at the Little Rainbow Trail.

Lest someone, say, an advocate for Mr. Morphew, suggest she might not have been wearing one or both of the jackets, I would point to the weather data below for May 10, 2020. At 8-9AM, the time Suzanne would have usually left the house to bike (per Mr. Morphew), the temperature in Salida (at an elevation about 1800 feet lower than the Morphew home) was 53.6°F (12°C) and it was cloudy. Not tank top conditions, I would assert.

I'm good. Thanks. Partial DNA is not the issue. This is the difference between making a forensic argument and complying with legal disclosure requirements.

I understand your position exactly. Regardless of what the evidence is, make sure it's handed over and on time. Why throw the defense a bone? However, I am realizing the dirty politics involved and the possibility of sabotage.

@10ofRods and I joked that next time give the defense 3 T of documentation to sort out (on Barry's dime of course). Hand over everything including the kitchen sink, LOL!

I think he was upset they didn't find his planted items. Like he wanted LE to find these things he said she biked with.. then they didn't. lol I can see him thinking he was going to go find them and show LE he was trying to help.
I'd bet you are right about this. He went out of his way to toss that phone and even got himself jammed up by telematics. Hahaha Barry! Then he went back to find it then TD shows up and Barry gets jammed up again lying about his lies while recorded. Hahaha again Barry!

I wonder, what the girls are thinking of it, since they became aware, that the very lovely father inevitably also spied on them both and possibly their visiting friends. They seem immune to everything.
