I do hope Barry is here on WS daily, reading

Tick Tock.

(And reading everything else). That presumes he can read, of course.
Well, if he is checking the temperature on Websleuths, knows he is burning up! :p

Would love to know what his google searches have been like since her body was found.

I've often wondered about the DNA found on the glove box. I know that in NC you have to get your vehicle inspected each year prior to getting your license plate sticker for your tags. Maybe a mechanic touched the glove box to get the registration card for an inspection? Maybe, could've. Or maybe BM got one of his laborers to clean his vehicles.
Great catch! I just had my car inspected and there were 3 servicemen in my glove box.

OR maybe he in his attempt to sound legit... decided going all the way to Garfield to turn around make it seem more like he was actually following this herd of elk? Can't turn around right there where he dumped the helmet that would seem extra suspicious. lol
Nope. He said they went up a path. They crossed in front of him, across 50, along a worn path (that had a fallen log/tree up a ways IIRC).... nope, no herd of elk ambling up 50 toward Garfield.

Well, no herd of elk at all.

So, Baer, why you'd drive another 5-6 miles to turn around? Weren't you in a hurry go get up to Broomfield... to...shower?

Odyssey of stupidity.

I know it's not what you meant but I had a sudden image of three very tiny servicemen lounging in a glove box.

And yet, that image is more credible than IE's wild assertion that 3 out-of-state sexual offenders ever touched Suzanne or her car.

It's nonsense and she knows it.

2-step verifications?
Sounds like it to me. I imagine his frustration was similar to Chris Watts' when he realized he was locked out of his deceased wife's phone!

I wonder what he would have done. Facebook posts? Texts? Gonna be biking. With my baby blue helmet and biking clothes. I'll be going at 8 or 9. Right near the house.

And I had the same image when I re-read it, Un freakin believable  I can't believe I did that ---- but there it is! SMH

If I'm not careful, IE may think to contact me for tips preparing for BM's defense :D

My thought is that is was from having her car detailed and cleaned. I can't see any of the Morphews deep cleaning the inside, and washing the outside of their own cars. And I imagine Colorado in spring might be mucky. MOO.

Can inmates have an emotional support chipmunk?

Just came to my mind. In Barry M. dad's obituary...some grandkids live in the southern states. Imagine one of BM's nephews having relative on the other side of the family living in AZ or thereabouts who is on the wrong side of the law. In this case, BM's relative could have touched the glovebox and then matched someone in CODIS. I wonder if they were ruled out. There is always "the other side" of the family.

Barry having an unsavoury relative? Surely you jest?!

LOL! But in this case, I am thinking about a very "savoury" relative of Barry who can have a "less-than-perfect" relative on the other, non-Barry's side. That "relative to BM's relative" could have misbehaved in AZ but was only a partial match to BM's relative, and a match from the other side of the relative's tree. I am always thinking that there could be an easy explanation to that partially matching DNA.

Did Grusing know that Mr. Morphew had turned left on Highway 50 based on truck telematics, or did he simply bluff him and he admitted it?

According to the internal comms quoted by IE in the civil complaint, the tech guys briefed Grusing and co that BM might have headed towards left on H50 because his location data showed it. This created an opportunity to 'squeeze' BM under questioning by saying 'hey your data shows you heading left - what gives?' This is what Grusing did when he asked BM if he went anywhere else

The bluff was that BM seems to have thought truck telematics showed it - but it was actually his phone.

IMO BM though that if his plane was in airplane mode, no location would be logged, but GPS is passive.

Whoops

The point referring to “static drift” in the civil complaint refers to “phone locator detail”. I’m assuming that meant Suzanne’s phone ping, not the truck telematics. Your thoughts?

It relates to the BMs phone location data

I can't find anywhere that they talk about SM's location data. The key point is that SMs phone was never recovered, so I am guessing they have no GPS data for it. They just have the final tower estimated location which is based off signal strength and azimuth etc

There is one thing to keep in mind about 'static drift' in relation to the left turn vs the chipmunk hunt

The chipmunk hunt we are talking about small distances, so maybe the phone could be stationary, or maybe he is walking around, or maybe he is running around, and perhaps inside a building.

The left turn is rather different as it is a fast moving truck on an open road.

If you turn right, you'd expect the location to track east, even if some individual data points were incorrect. It would seem odd that the data could in fact show you had gone west for any length of time.

When CAST experts are briefing Grusing, they seem to be thinking that the truck likely went briefly west, or perhaps it's just an error. They certainly didn't know BM would be admitting he went all the way to Garfield.

It's not just the location data here, but the amount of time.

If BM didn't head left - he should have been miles down the road to his destination in a totally different direction.

The missing time AND mileage can't be explained by 'static drift'
