Do y'all recall the phone interview LScharf did with Barry? Man, is the guy always angry? IIRC, when asked about the beach site dig, didn't Barry say something disparaging about the neighbor, the one who was awakened and looked out? I can't recall his exact words but my impression was along the lines of dotty.

Why'd Barry need to voice an opinion at all?
I haven’t watched or listened to his interviews with Lauren lately, but remember that yes, he was very angry and defensive with her.

In March 2021 in an interview with LE he brought up the dig and made some disparaging remarks about the neighbor lady who had spoken on camera to Lauren:

No the state exhibit shows nothing of the sort.

If the defence wants to introduce time/distance calculations an exhibit from a witness is required.

No evidence exists for this claim. Nielson made it up.

But how can the missing 18miles be from this trip when the trip isn't in the telematics? If he went at all, he went in a different vehicle. IE knows this - she is simply misleading the Court.

Your argument is IE can simply put something she knows is false in front of the court and then it is up to the court to sort it out. That isn't true.

I agree she could still maintain he was still at the Spa shop that day, but she cannot maintain he drove there in the Truck and somehow the 18km and the whole trip went 'poof' and simply not mention that at all.
Th Spa store owner is a friend. local contractors, hunters and involved in the VFD.
BM and the owner were both on the Salida beach house job, MOO owner probably got Barry the gig.

I decided to read the AA with Barry's initial interview because that would be the time he spoke to LE with the freshest memory of all the events.

When called by the Ritter's and he said see if her bike is there.. why wouldn't the next request be can you drive around and see if she's riding her bike OR it's still daylight maybe she just had left on this bike ride. Why would Barry say call 911 when the Ritter's confirmed her bike was missing. Maybe she went on an afternoon ride.. why would Barry's gut reaction be call 911. Similarly, why didn't he requests someone call Suzanne's friend Sheila (who had a daughter getting married that day!) and ask did you talk to Suzanne today? How about her sister. If I think say one of my kids went missing, I'd call their friends and ask have you seen them did they call you? Why did Barry jump straight to call 911?

Had forgotten this -- of course BM wanted to destroy the beaver dam.

As we now know, and as BM well knew at the time, neither BM option, digging up the dam with a 240 or 320 (whatever it takes), or sinking 140,000 into cleaning up the river would have been a good use of county funds.

Always on the offence, always misdirecting. I feel even more now for those searchers. Not just undermined but attacked also by the one person who knew where SM was (sort of) buried.

Interesting

It’s actually a disastrous proposition for the defence that BM could drive to the Spa store and it not show up in telematics

That means he could also do an unlogged trip to the burial site.

Which is why IE casually left out the telematics aspect.

Otherwise 1 person too many in the hotel! He had to get the call to return home this Sunday, on time, namely before his employees would arrive at the hotel. IMO

Of course BM is guilty. But, the State has no PROOF the chipmunk story is FALSE! (I personally have shot chipmunks around the foundation of my house.)

So you run around chasing chipmunks? You want to shoot a chipmunk, you do it by standing still. What you do not do is make any sudden movements and you certainly don’t chase an animal capable of running at more than twice your speed.

IMO, not with a .22, I use 4-10.

Seems more likely the RR made the trip to the Spa store and not BM's truck.

Didn't Suzanne text him at a point to pick up the spa stuff? Saturday morning IIRC. But Barry would have already on Friday?

What really bites is where Suzanne's head and heart were, compared to his.

The Prosecution will likely light it up. Plotting their movements and messages, as they converge to about 2:48.... and every measure of Suzanne's life abruptly stops and his does not...

What did he say she did between then and the sex that never happened?

Oh, that's right -- didn't he say Suzanne was going to make some potatoes? Was going to? Did she, Barry? Where were the potato dishes? Lie.

Here's my real question:

If we pinpoint when Suzanne was sunbathing.... Barry shouldn't have known.

Right?

He left early. To work with MG. Cut the job short, came home but not all the way to the house IIRC, parked low in the driveway to go in search of the dead turkey that never was....

Then back to town to swap blades on the Bobcat....

Am I smelling a double whoops?

IMO Barry never saw Suzanne sunbathing in person.

But it's what set him off --

RSBM
Barry jumped straight to 911 so Suzanne could be recorded as “missing” during the same time period he was away in Broomfield. He thought it would cast suspicion away from himself and solidify his alibi. The production of his alibi makes him appear more guilty.

Pretty sure Barry told Ritters to call 911 "just to be safe". Safe? For whom? Too late for Suzanne. To keep Barry safe from having to call 911 himself. Transparent much? Sheesh.

He contradicts his own sorry self. Suzanne watches church services on Sunday mornings... so, uh, Barry, how's she also biking?

I bet he didn't even know about her plans for the wedding that day.

And why go zero to 911 anyway? Me, I'd call out favors first. Get a phone tree going, get all hands on deck, on foot, by car, starting with all my firefighter friends.

But then, he didn't need an army looking for Suzanne. He just wanted her bike found.

So he could come back.

Yes, the seller said the frame was not broken when they sold it to BM and Suzanne. But there were pictures of a big crack running down the side of the frame where the door handle was located.

Gee. Why was the prosecution a gutless mess?
They leave minutes on the table when another vehicle was in the mix, meaning not just Suzanne's newer RR was available but also the old non GPS equipped one?

Checking back - didn't the defence actually have a crummy exhibit for the 30mph claim? Like where they worked it out with google converter?
