I’m familiar with that, not sure why it didn’t cross my mind. I did see someone else post this as well, though the offender ID seems to be super long and correlate with the year he was arrested, so I’m not thinking it’s his actually inmate #. But what do I know, I’m not familiar with CO. I suppose it doesn’t really matter what it is, I was just curious..

Hi Barry, so nice to “see” you. :)
I agree, I have thought it a strong possibility since the beginning, that BM disposed/dumped Suzanne in an abandoned mine/mineshaft. I have done slot of reading about them.
There are a plethora of abandoned mines in CO, and can be well known to hunters and trackers especially. Some of them are very deep and bodies dumped in them, are highly likely never to be found. I’ve always had a feeling this is what Josh Powell did with Susan, and Drew Peterson possibly did with Stacy. Ugh.
Monsters.

On the attached map it shows about 15 mines just south of their home....

I’ve been trying to put my finger on what it was about the house that bothered me. It’s a million dollar house in a gorgeous location but, as you perfectly stated, it looked vacant and soulless. I didn’t appear to have any personal touches that a woman like Suzanne would love to be surrounded by, as though she wasn’t feeling up to decorating or was prevented from doing so.

Maybe this wasn’t “their” dream house? Maybe it was intended as a flip house? A property to be rented out to to groups or well heeled families on vacation? The cleaning lady was in the area doing rental properties. Maybe the Longhorn tract, closer to town, was supposed to be where the dream house was planned for.

The Arrest Affidavit ONLY needs to include what was necessary to support the filing of charges, which has a lower standard than for conviction, so it is possible that only some of the dirty dealings and secret deeds will be presented there and that forensic accountants are still collecting evidence and processing it.

Still, I'm as eager as you are to see it!

Love that tribute! And very much enjoyed seeing CM's wife on the latest video. As he would say (and I think he did....), they are yin and yang. It's clear they are partners in that marriage.

Wish SM had had that as she was certainly worthy of it.

I will say, after watching this video with Chris and his wife, my opinion has changed to a more favorable one. They are a lovely couple doing a lot of good out there and definitely compliment one another. The are "good peeps" committed to justice, I think very highly of them after watching this;).

Well, if he pulled off the road on the way to Denver for any reason, I would think his GPS would indicate that. Prompting LE to take a look and check out the situation.

imo

What is the situation with highway CCTV in that area? Is there much/any of it?

Sometimes investigators can determine if a person has spent a long time in a specific area due to an inordinately long period of time between the vehicle appearing on one CCTV camera and then the next CCTV camera.

I was the one who posted it. I looked at the Chaffee County Detention web page and I do believe when you write the inmate it says include ID number so I’m guessing they use an ID number as opposed to a booking number. I also did an inmate locator I used that ID number and Barry showed up.

I thought about that but you can always remove the gps at least my friend who’s a mechanic knows how to do it or disable it from working.

Chase Merritt who killed the Mcstay family 2 adults and 2 young boys buried them all in graves in the desert in Victorville along with evidence. The graves were discovered three years later by a guy riding an atv who saw a bone an animal had uncovered.

Yes it definitely can be done.
In the South Carolina Heather Elvis case, before they lured Heather to the lake, evil Tammy Moorer and her husband Sidney removed/disabled the entire GPS navigation system in Sidney’s truck.
Sadly, poor Heather’s body has never been found :(. But at least the two Moorer creeps were sent to prison,
which is exactly where they belong.

They are evil poor Heather. It’s not hard to do and I’m sure Barry would know how to disable it and that’s why Suzanne has not been found over a year later. He is a true crime listener I’m sure he setup that bike scene to throw LE off. I think she’s far away somewhere between Salida and Denver.

Right. Maybe that’s the part of the True Crime podcasts that Barry allegedly listened to, where he actually paid close attention. Ugh.

Similar to what Josh Powell was alleged to have done with Susan. There are so many abandoned mines and searching them can be extremely dangerous.

My first guess is that he left her somewhere in a wooded area, known for animal activity, with a trail cam to monitor traffic. An abandoned mine is my second.

exactly my thoughts too. Since LE doesn’t have a body and they did over 140 interviews I think Barry slipped up and told someone he thought he could trust his version what happened and that person flipped on him and was offered immunity by testifying against him because if someone had information what he did and didn’t come forward they would be charged .

huh, good to know, then. When I use VINE in my state, it actually generally blocks out the last 3 (out of 6) digits of the inmate # iirc, but like I said before, I’m not sure how Colorado’s inmate #s work. Is it far, far too long for me to refer to him as then lol.

of course, I am curious to see how long it takes for “fan” mail to get to him if that really is his #. I don’t even want to think about that but in today’s world, ugh.

Suzanne could be anywhere on the way to the Denver job. I have a hunch the murder took place at the house he cleaned up blood with chlorine bleach or whatever it was then setup the fake bike scene and whatever he planted there, changed his bloody clothes bagged them up put those, towels, change of clothes and loaded up Suzanne’s body in his truck. On the way he bought alot of chlorine, and towels on the drive to Denver as I believe there was a receipt or cameras where chlorine was bought. He found a good spot on the drive pulled off-road and buried Suzanne along with the used towels, weapon, any evidence tools if he used one then proceeded to clean up his truck with the chlorine and towels got to the hotel took a shower cleaned himself up with change of clothes perhaps used more chlorine on something he forgot maybe tools, shovel that might be why the room smelled of chlorine and wet towels.

I've always felt this is precisely what happened. I would add that a cooler was used to conceal the remains at the bottom of a very very deep hole.

So sad.

Agreed completely. I was very impressed with them as they spoke about Suzanne's case.
I'm glad I watched the video finally :)

And the family was buried in a dry desert area on the other side of the freeway from where he lived, so he could observe the area while driving back and forth to his work.

Something to think about with Inmate Morphew

Colorado Revised Statutes Title 18. Criminal Code § 18-8-306 | FindLaw

I've been wondering about the charge of Attempt to Influence a Public Servant. That, to me, sounded like BM tried to bribe someone who was getting close, but it can be as simple as using "deceit." Seems like anyone who denied anything about any crime could be charged with that, such as:
Officer : "You were speeding."
Driver: "No, I wasn't.

Their aren't too many, but enough. Poncha Springs & Salida have them on the main highway and some up on Monarch pass. Johnson Village, Granite and Antero have them as well so they could tell which route he took to Broomfield. They would be tough to search tho, it would have been a crowded packed day.

But, when he was in the Denver metro, it would have been a simple database search, their cameras are special. LE certainly verified his whereabouts in Denver/Broomfield without the need of his GPS.

Sorry - I meant more west than south. Anyway - very near Gunnison.
That was an early theory of mine. Straight shot west turnaround and head back. Not much traffic in the middle of the night. Even though the water is low it is still very deep and the snow was melting.

I would not rule this out, although it would require BM to admit to killing Suzanne, which I'm not sure he'd do unless as a last resort.

OTOH, there are witnesses on record as saying that he was adamantly opposed to SM's trying cannabis-derived products as pain relief, so it might be a tricky case to make ("Murder plot rather than pot," as the Daily Fail might say).
IMO, the theory that this was an assisted suicide or mercy killing because of her cancer makes no sense...
Why would she continue to go to treatment, go through possible side effects, complete treatment and get a clean bill of health and THEN have her husband help her kill herself?

For it to be plausible she would have had to have received another diagnosis and said "I'm not going through this again."
