This is so true. I experienced ongoing emotional abuse. He would constantly tell me how lucky I was that he wasn’t violent. There were times I though I would have preferred being hit. It wears you down, bit by bit, until you don’t know who you are anymore. I finally left with just the clothing on my back.
Glad you are here and were able to find the courage to leave. It’s sad the emotional pain people inflict on those who love them.

Do we know if the defense would have the entire AA, and Barry too, or could the prosecution hold back certain evidence?
They have access to the entire AA. Barry too.
No surprises here... that's for later, when the prosecution lays out, step by step, every single thing Barry did, that he thought he was being sneaky about. Every cell tower ping, every traffic cam capture, every text, every call, every gps hit.
His head will still be spinning when he's being sentenced, and probably for a few years to come.

Every murderous creep thinks they're smarter than the law.
They're always proven wrong, eventually.

Re: BM's status as an experienced hunter.

Where did we get this information from? Was he a hunter in Indiana when they lived there?

The Morphews hadn't been in Colorado all that long, so I am curious how much hunting BM ever did in Colorado. I also question the notion that because of his hunting, he would be highly knowledgeable about the local woods, abandoned mine sites, etc.

He had a full-time job as a landscaper, a second job as a volunteer firefighter - and a wife and two daughters. I don't see where he had a lot of time to get to know the local backwoods as thoroughly as some might think.

Re: the excellent post upthread pointing out that Watts, Peterson and Frazee all disposed of their victims in ways that reflected their personal experience. Frazee claimed to understand how easy it would be for someone to 'disappear' in the vast Colorado woods with all the hidden mine shafts - but he chose a barn he rented and his own home to dispose of the body. Watts went to a remote work site, not a remote site in the woods.

I think first and foremost, BM was a Bobcat man digging holes, not a survivalist/great hunter-type intimately familiar with remote stretches of woodland and abandoned mines. It's also why I am skeptical that he dismembered SM. I've seen no actual evidence or testimony that he was the type of hunter who was actually experienced at field-dressing his kill.

Also...if he was a knowledgeable hunter, why has there never been any mention of firearms? Or even a local hunting buddy who would have shown him the back ways and hidden mine shafts.
Puurrrfect post. BM, the Bobcat man. Metaphorical hunter only, not the real deal.

I don't think BM knows squat about the wilderness. It probably scares him silly. I say this because most any characterization he gives himself seems to be puffery. It's like claiming he's a firefighter. Well, he might be in volunteer firefighter training, but has he ever actually been on the line?

These are not things a security camera addresses.
Plus, I'm not sure BM was a great safety provider. Lack of security cameras is the least of it.

rsbm to touch on this part.

It’s slightly surprising to me, as I get the controlling vibe from Barry (is that story about him showing up at SM’s vacation true?) that he didn’t have any cameras. Not for safety, but so he could have an eye on things and see the coming and going’s of SM and maybe even the daughters. I could be way off base here, but just a thought.

imo, jmo

Of course, if you move to Colorado with plans to kill your wife in the home then you wouldn't get security cameras. But that's a big "if". I get the feeling they were concerned about money -- thinking BM did not want to pay for security.

I don’t like to give Barry credit for anything by any means, I think the guy
is a total 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. Having said that, according to Suzanne’s brother Andy Moorman, who has known Barry for well over 30 years, Barry is an expert hunter and tracker. I consider Andy Moorman to be a credible source, and I believe Barry used both his Hunting and Landscaping skills to do whatever he did with Suzanne/her remains.

Can't see that at all. Money? 1.5+ plus million dollar house,(no mortgage) family gym membership, tanning salon regulars, Mexico every Feb vacay, 4K plus MTB, 2 Range Rovers 50-80K + and the house had a system when they bought it.

@LaineyJ excellent point. I agree.

I much appreciate the camaraderie and mutual respect shown on this forum. Thank you to those who reported the rudeness. I would do the same for you all.
I love how we have each other’s back.

I do too.
He gave it everything he had, he tried so very hard to find her.
He's coming into my thoughts a lot and I'm hoping that means he will be a star witness for the prosecution and not that something's up with him.
He did so much to bring Suzanne's plight to the attention of world media.
He was tough and honest and really likeable.
But I imagine he paid a helluva price for it..
Andy shone!

Why do you think he sold the Colorado house? Didn't her sister write something that alluded to them living beyond their means? Yes, after I posted I saw a post about a non-functioning security system at the time of SM's disappearance.

Ah, I didn’t know the house did have a system. I was going to say, you can get a cheap camera set for a few hundred dollars (at most) off of Amazon if you wanted a few of them at different areas of the house. Even for the front door, I got a ring doorbell for maybe $70 on amazon on sale. Either of this options you can observe from your phone anytime, anywhere.

so what is going on with that system they apparently already had? Hmm

How financially stressed was he to head to Mexico this past February???? Right on schedule.

And Listen 9:49 when he was talking to Andy about an incident just the week before....

While nothing is completely out of the question, I respectfully disagree that this was a mercy/assisted suicide.

Reportedly, Suzanne and family recently celebrated Suzanne’s last Cancer treatment in October, 2019, and she was starting to go for maintenance treatments. That Suzanne was a devout Christian woman of deep faith, who loved her daughters, family, loved life.
Not only that, as someone posted upthread, Barry’s actions after the fact, and especially his seemingly moving on so fast, do NOT add up to this being a mercy/assisted suicide.

ETA-clarity

I don't think OP was claiming that it was the case - merely that Barry could have sold this to the daughters or otherwise set them up to believe it.

At this point, that's a topic we're all pondering...what did Barry say to his daughters and how did he deal with their feelings?

Financially irresponsible? Living beyond his means? I don't have first hand knowledge, just going on what I've read. Neither of us know.

I feel so sorry for the daughters. They will have a very hard time during the trial.

Maybe this wasn’t “their” dream house? Maybe it was intended as a flip house? A property to be rented out to to groups or well heeled families on vacation? The cleaning lady was in the area doing rental properties. Maybe the Longhorn tract, closer to town, was supposed to be where the dream house was planned for.
Good thinking!
Odd that he’s changed the landscaping to such an extreme, was he bored and liked rocks? And more rocks! An unnatural look in the forest for the Mountain McMansion lodge look
The drive to Salida downhill & back in all weather conditions as well as the tourist traffic, skier traffic, having teen drivers, eeks..could have made Longhorn Ranch much more attractive

I didn't, couldn't since I saw it late at night, on my phone. I waited till morning on my computer, but it was gone. Someone however was thoughtful and kind enough to report it.
I'm glad that worked for you....;)

Maybe he did have cameras? Cameras we don't know about, but not "security" cameras?

I feel sorry for Suzanne. It appears that the daughters are having a hard time because their father has been arrested, not because their mother has been murdered.

I think that this family might be more dysfunctional than we think.

JMO.
