I'm not sure he's even capable of telling the truth. He's lied and deceived everyone for a year, while focusing on how important God is to him and his family.

If anyone can convince him to confess and reveal where Suzanne's body is, it would probably be his daughters or his mother. Or maybe his pastor.[/QUOTEconfessing

I don’t believe he would ever confess to murdering Suzanne he will ride this out to the bitter end.

I'm skeptical. Look at the difference in position of his eyebrows. I think the differing eyebrow position is what causes his eyelids to look different in each photo. MOO
I noticed, that his eyebrows are looking darker than before (when not arrested) and that is changing the look of his whole face also.

The clock is just striking Midnight here in Colorado so it’s now Saturday.
I didn’t watch or listen to the WebEx and I haven’t read anywhere that charges were read. Sorry!

if you can read these blurry screenshots I grabbed from a Profiling Evil video on Thursday.. do you have any idea why they have never been on the court site? I’ll grab the link to video.

The Order filed on 5/11/21 for the DA to provide the Defense with discovery pursuant to Rule 16 is very much the timely procedure leading to the Proof Evident Presumption Great hearing (which under Colorado law is what prevents a defendant charged in a capital case from release on bail).

In a capital case, this requires that the court hold the defendant without bond until he requests admission to bail. Once requested, the court must set a hearing at which the district attorney may seek to have bail denied because the proof is evident or presumption great. Even if the district attorney does not contend the proof is evident or presumption great, the court must still hold a hearing to set bail.

Yeah, I would think they keep the murderers separate from other inmates.
Not here in Cali they throw them all together

Yup, my nephew got arrested for a DUI and resisted arrest when he was 21. His parents refused to bail him out.

He spent 3 months in county jail and was in a cell with a meth freak who murdered his girlfriend.....It scared poor nephew straight though. He is in his early 40's and has never seen a jail cell since.

Here's a side by side for the posters who want to see what we were referring to per Barry's teeth:

It's very clear he's had work done on his teeth.

I think he was simply stepping up his game. He's been single since last May! (And it was a bonus when he ran to Arizona, or wherever he was really going, to have an altered appearance so that most of America wouldn't recognize him).

He seemed to sweep with a very broad brush when criticizing, but I can't believe he was referring to those who assisted in Andy's search.

For those who didn't watch: Mike set up that exchange by asking what Thomas thought about the online community of sleuthers and crowdsourcing. Thomas said that the investigating is best left to the professionals; "you wouldn't step into an operating room and attempt to replace the doctor." Mike tried to save it a bit by talking about the difference between social media and other interactive sites surfacing intelligence vs. investigating. Thomas said that tips should go to the investigators. He talked about a friend who is a former FBI agent who was able to advise Thomas to just trust the professionals; that they were on it.

Still wonder if there is some contention between Mike and Chris about just how involved in discussion anyone should be outside the actual investigation. Would Mike prefer everyone just passively watch the videos, hit the Subscribe and Like buttons, and join the chat room to ask questions that he will curate?

I will never forget that an FBI agent out in the field submitted to FBI headquarters her concerns that certain middle eastern flight students were taking flight lessons and skipping learning anything about landing, which might indicate a potential risk for terrorism. Her concerns were ignored. And 9/11 happened.

Sometimes EVEN the well-educated, longterm serving professionals miss things that turn out to be critical.
I was disappointed with the step brothers thoughts about Andy's search.
Explains why he was completely absent from it though.
This family dynamic is strained at best IMO.
Completely normal and not criticizing them as a family unit but the reality is pretty clear.

#team Andy. What a bro. Actions speak louder than words. Stand up guy and your sister would be chuffed knowing that you climbed Everest in the search for her.
Love knows no bounds. xx

Maybe he had some/a few dental inflammations incl. lost teeth over the last year (or longer), because he had a lot of psycho stress. So his "dining room" had to be renewed probably. ;)

I had the distinct impression he was referring to all the busybodies on youtube & facebook pretending to be investigative journalists or undercover cops, but all they're actually doing is exploiting the situation so they can repeat the abundance of rumors, gossip and speculation, as if it's fact - and generate more followers/likes/social media clout.

I'm pretty sure everyone following this case for the last year, knows exactly the kind of sites and users I'm talking about. For general reference, not a single one of those kinds of sites is allowed here, because this is a fact based forum that respects the victims and their families.

His teeth do look a lot different. Do we know for sure that the photo of him with the two daughters and Christmas tree was from 2020? I wonder how hard it would be to digitally enhance a photo to make your teeth look perfect? At any rate, he did seem to work really hard to try to make himself look good on the surface. It's unfortunate that this effort seemed limited to a shallow veneer and didn't go a little deeper.

MOO there are a few doing much good work who have the ultimate respect for SM and her family !
Broad brush again?
Thankfully much information is out there for the open minded to seek

Is it possible that Barry has convinced his girls that their mother abandoned him and them? Ran off with someone? And set him up in the process? Would they really believe that? Their loyalty has me baffled. MOO.

Yikes. At first I thought maybe he had his teeth whitened by a dentist which is totally normal.

But the xmas photo does indeed look like veneers/caps as the bottom edges are so straight and the teeth are uniform. And it’s not just the upper front 4 teeth, but maybe 6 to 8? (At least he didn’t do Luke Bryan Hollywood White.)

It’s just so weird. I totally understand hitting age 50 and removing old silver fillings/chips and putting caps/veneers on. But doing this after your wife disappears on perhaps healthy teeth, albeit a bit yellowed and a bit naturally uneven? Totally weird.

(Jumping off your post)

The engagement announcement says he was supposed to graduate in the coming May 1994. He hadn't graduated yet.
But yes, he was apparently going for a degree in Horticulture Production at the time.

Clipping from The Alexandria Times-Tribune - Newspapers.com

There is no reason to think that he didn't graduate, considering his line of business. Having a degree doesn't necessarily make him a smart man, it just makes him a somewhat educated person - in a specific subject. imo
Yes, the announcement was in January so unless either one of them lost a few credits in the remaining four months, I'm assuming they both graduated.

Okay, @fcavanaugh. I’ll try again to respond to your thoughts with some of my own.

I said I fell on the Friday side of the fence but I forgot to mention that my coattail got caught up on a picket and I’m kinda just dangling here.

Suppose BM hurt SM quite badly during the bad Friday night fight. He knew he was in big trouble if he took her to the hospital. He would be arrested and SM would divorce him for sure.

Suppose he did nothing to help her all night. That was why he was such such a wreck on Saturday morning. He was trying to decide what to do. He left the job site and went home where he found she had died or he went home and finished her off. (Sorry to be so blunt.).

He spent the rest of the day as we discussed.

Going back to the beach area at the Salida job site. If in fact BM was attempting to or had actually buried SM there, I don’t think he would remove her from there because he knew he was seen or heard by a neighbor when she turned her light on. That beach area has been niggling at me since I found out he worked there Friday night and that he had MG rake it out on Saturday morning. If SM wasn’t placed there, I think evidence might have been. I have asked before and I have searched through the photos of the 3 day search at the slab, but I cannot confirm that LE searched down by the beach area. All the photos I have seen show the areas that were cut from the slab and from several areas adjacent to the slab. I wish I knew for certain that they also searched the beach area.

LE must have been very interested to learn that BM was responsible for prepping the area for the concrete pour which I believe took place on 5/11, the day after SM disappeared. That together with the reports of machinery running late at night was probably enough pc for the search warrant.

As far as moving her body if she had been stashed elsewhere, it is true he did a lot of driving back and forth between CO and IN. CM said he sold the black RR to a friend in IN. He also purchased a truck there that he drove back. Who’s to say he didn’t have SM’s body tucked away in a nice big cooler somewhere and put it in the back of the RR so he could dispose of it somewhere in IN or anywhere along the way. Was it CM who also said he has a second Bobcat in IN?

Finally, regarding 24\7 surveillance, it takes a lot of manpower and it is very difficult especially if you are trying to follow someone from one state to another. CCSO has limited resources and while they have been assisted by the FBI and CBI, I’m not sure they could do a 24\7 surveillance over any length of time. We know BM snuck off by himself on Tuesday, just 2 days after SM went missing, to rifle through the trash at the Poncha Market. That was when AM and several IN friends were in town. I wonder how many other nights did he sneak away in those first days and weeks?

MOO
Thanks for your response @OldCop, all excellent points.

It is interesting you mentioned about BM perhaps having a cooler tucked/hidden away as I have also thought about that possibility. My first thoughts early on were that he possibly put her in a large cooler and buried her in some deep hole he’d dug behind PP property, or disposed/dumped her down an abandoned mine shaft. Anything’s possible and still think either of those as viable possibilities. In addition, after learning about the trips BM made back and forth between CO and IN, and the moving/selling of vehicles (Truck. Range Rover), makes me think it’s also a possibility BM transported cooler to IN and buried SM somewhere there. I agree, that due to limited resources, LE likely didn’t have 24/7 surveillance on BM, especially in the early days when they were likely busy searching and interviewing people and BM was freely “roaming”around, to your point about the trash diving BM did at Poncha Market on Tuesday.

Having said all that, I think it’s possible he transported SM remains out of state in a cooler in one of the vehicles he sold (Truck, RR). Going back to the theories Suzanne may have had second thoughts about selling their IN home and wouldn’t sign the final documents for the sale to go through, and/or told him she wanted a divorce and planned to move back to IN, and/or told BM she missed her family and wanted them to move back to IN, I think BM was vehemently against moving back there (burned too many bridges/wanted to continue to isolate SM), and that BM is just the type of vindictive person/Narcissist, that after killing her would be saying in his mind, “there, you wanted to go back to IN, well you got your wish, happy now?” Of course we’ll probably never know what BM was thinking, but to me, the man just oozes anger and resentment, and I could definitely see him thinking that way. Wouldn’t it be something if he did transport SM’s remains to IN and buried her at or near one of their favorite spots, like the Golf Course where it all started for them. Yeah, that would really be something and I don’t put anything past him.
At any rate, hopefully we’ll be privy to more details soon.

Poor Suzanne, she deserved so much better

Yes, I think this is the reason most of Suzanne's family kept silent throughout the investigation. They trusted LE and didn't want to hinder the investigation.

We knew practically nothing about any evidence until JP and MG spoke to the media. We learned even more when Andy and the PE guys started talking. Those interviews and the PE shows were our only source for information. Without them we wouldn't know any more than we did in the first couple of months. I think investigators would have liked to keep it that way.

We never had any information from LE besides what they revealed about the searches and warrants. They did a great job of protecting the investigation.
