I'd like to reiterate what I said on my last post. When Barry called the neighbor to check on Suzanne, why did he first ask her to check to see if the cars were there?! If he killed her and did that bike scenario, why would he ask that???
Tricksy.

I think he does too. Stretching the metaphor, I think, or drawing attention to the skills that BM likely used in his destruction. But, it isn't the hunting that made BM a predator of his wife. It was something else.

I know several hunters and NONE of them would do this.
I don't think his hunting skills necessary have anything to do with the murder, either. It doesn't sound like he hunted just for the sake of killing if he made use of the meat, hides, etc.

Where I live hunting is so common that schools are closed on the first day of deer season.

As far as I can tell Mike and Chris have never explained why they put so much emphasis on the hunting. The only relevance I can think of is that he would have been familiar with some of the wilderness surrounding them.

Maybe they are implying that since he would know how to dismember a body that that's what he did to hide the remains?

Interview with Melinda: (I'm listening now).

LISTEN: Sister of Suzanne Morphew Talks With Heart of the Rockies Radio

When asked if Suzanne had ever raised any concerns before she went missing, she said the relationship had deteriorated over the last several years, and her sister had concerns about her safety. :(

She also said Suzanne embraced Salida, and the people there, and was very much at peace with living in such a beautiful place.

This is a short interview, but is full of first hand information coming from SM’s sister. I feel like this interview is the closest I’ve been to any solid information in this case. She also is probably one of the last people to talk with SM before she went missing. There is a tremendous amount of grace that comes from Melinda. This interview is well worth the listen. IMO

I'm still saying Hmm? As for being 70, I'm older than that and that's not elderly to me. I just want to make sure they made the right decision about Barry because look at the women we see in the news being abducted while jogging so why couldn't someone be abducted while bike riding, in a remote area no less near numerous campsites. and a suspicious car in the area to boot. These are my thoughts right now. I know it's controversial but I like to cross every t and dot every i
Well, I'm not seventy and I'd still be offended if my neighbor made me run around like that in order to include me in his murderous scheme. In the beginning the public assumed she actually saw Suzanne on her bike and the media was hounding her. The DM took her picture and printed it without her permission after she refused to be interviewed. I would have been furious.

Yes, women have been abducted while jogging and biking and I'm sure Barry was well aware of that.

I have to assume that LE would not have arrested him and charged him with murder if they did not have solid evidence connecting him to the murder and cover up. They wanted to be sure, which is probably why it took so long. They were crossing every "t" and dotting every "i."

IMO

Good points. I would like to ask CM, would Suzanne be alive today if Barry wasn’t a hunter?

CM puts an insane amount of focus on Barry’s hunting. IMO
He is little more intense than the regular hunter.
I have to check back upthreads, but another poster said as a teen BM skinned his pet raccoon when it died to get money for its pelt.
So, I guess its uber practical, but MOO a lot of hunters would make an exception, and just bury their pet with it's skin on, with a few well wishes.

To set up the story.

1. Ask the neighbor if she's seen her, or if her car is in the drive - make sure to mention the car first, to make it look like Barry has no idea what's going on, since he's out of town
2. When the neighbor confirms the car IS in the drive, then fake confusion, and ask about the bike.
3. Ask neighbor to go back and check, knowing full well the neighbor will not see her bike.
4. In a fake state of concern, suggest to the neighbor that oh, well then that means she must be out on a bike ride - plant that seed right away & repeat it literally to everyone.

Great info - and what a lovely family. So full of grace. At the end of the clip of particular interest to me was that SM had no regrets about moving to Salida. Loved the area and the people. Her sister said she found peace in her surroundings.
So maybe no threats from her to move back to Indiana - ? I was also glad to hear that absent the cancer and the marriage crumbling, her time in Colorado had not all been miserable. The mountains have the same calming effect for me - much like the ocean. It seems this time away from familiar surroundings may also had given her great clarity and personal growth. And I know there was much joy for her with her girls. I am glad for the points of lite she experienced.

I have often wondered if that was because he knows a heck of a lot more about BM and his hunting hobby than what has been released into the MSM. I know I've seen lots of pics and things here and there that have never been part of MSM, so there IS a lot of info out there about "Barry the Hunter".

That's a little like the farmer who names his pigs or cows or has "favorites." Eventually they all go off to the slaughter house. Imo

There has been speculation as to who exactly was living in the PP home. It seems that the younger daughter was living at her boyfriend's house. If Suzanne's bike(s) were at the PP home and her car, she likely was living there. Barry claims to have seen her sleeping on Mother's Day so I assume he was living there. Did the neighbor go inside the home when she checked on Suzanne? Did Barry give her an access code? Did she smell bleach? Lots of questions.
Another question, MOO BM apparently does not have a good sense of smell. Why?

Saying "Yeah, I smelled it too" (of the HI room) offers no new info, only restates what his workman said.

I just listened to Melinda’s latest interview. So Barry and Suzanne’s relationship had been “deteriorating” for years. Melinda provided council-pretty sure there was a divorce in the past few years, and Melinda said something about commonality in that area. She also went just a wee bit further into stating that Suzanne had indeed shared information on Friday (as opposed to being ready to share in the future). And when she said she was scared, it didn’t feel like being scared because of finances.

Being as both family members and LE have been tight-lipped since day 1 (kudos for that) I'm wondering if after their talk on Friday they made arrangements to text/call at a designated time to show Suzanne was ok and when that didn't happen Melinda notified LE and it was around the same time as the 911 call. That might explain why LE acted so quickly and with such certainty that a crime had taken place?

I've always thought she would have loved living there. On her FB she listed her hobbies as mountain biking and hiking. She was in the perfect place to enjoy the peace and beauty of the outdoors.

And then her husband took it all away from her.

This is not on track with the current discussion now but I was wondering, do we know if sheriff spezze was there when BM was arrested? I can’t remember if that was mentioned, but when I just searched it online it only states that BM was arrested by CCSO deputies.

just a random thought..

Agreed completely. And if she told Spezze right away, what she's telling the media now (and I believe she did) then it sure makes sense that the CCSO were looking directly at Barry all along.
According to Melinda, Suzanne made it perfectly clear she was afraid for her safety (just about the 3 minute mark in the interview, right before she says their marriage had been deteriorating for the last few years). 48 hours later, she's missing without a trace.

Ugh. I just wish Barry would confess and tell LE where she is. Just end this wretched charade and let his family and her family have some closure.

Did Suzanne’s sister say what or who caused the relationship to deteriorate?

CM explained re: Barry & the pet raccoon: raccoon was a pet which became unruly, BM killed his pet raccoon & skinned it, selling its hide for $30. I couldn’t do that to a “pet”. That’s the point CM was making. “Lost Dreams”. EBM to add MOO

Not sure if Spezze was there, but there were 7 LE vehicles. Slow the playback down to .25 you can see them easier.

I’m not @swedeheart, but did listen to sisters interview. She did not mention what caused the deterioration in this interview, but in earlier interview mentioned money problems in the marriage, people living above their means. MOO

IMO, it was never determined as fact that it was TN who approached Morgan with the other guy, I think it was just assumed it was TN.
Iirc, Morgan said ‘someone’ related to Barry and one of his friends approached her when she got back from Broomfield, but it was never confirmed who that someone was which is why in past posts I’ve always put a question mark next to TN when discussing the topic.

Reportedly, in the immediate days following SM “missing”, several friends and relatives of Barry came from IN to support him and help search. So, it could’ve been one of his other buddies or relatives that BM asked/manipulated to approach Morgan, not necessarily TN.

I think BM did a lot of manipulating of TN in the beginning- help search, speak to the media, set up the ********, possibly helped BM produce his pathetic 26 second FB “plea”.
I think possibly TN caught on to what really must have happened. He was likely interviewed by LE and then dropped out of sight and has been silent ever since while LE moved forward with their investigation. It very well could have been TN that approached Morgan, it’s just that it hasn’t been confirmed yet to have been him IMO.

I don’t have the link handy for Morgan’s statement about being approached when she got back to Broomfield. It was mentioned in her interview with LS I believe. I haven’t been able to find if it was ever verified as fact that TN was one of the dudes who approached Morgan. If I missed it, maybe someone could find and post the info.
