Morphew Gets More Charges

Please see the first 3 minutes for screenshots of court filing where BM formerly dismissed his public defenders and notified court of his new legal team.
Indeed we see the dismissal of the public defender and the public defender’s office.

I’m pretty sure Dru Nielsen was the attorney who negotiated the all too lenient deal for Krystal K, Patrick Frazee’s clean up queen, in the Kelsey Berreth murder case. She is an excellent lawyer and I’m sure her partner is also.
This is good for BM, and not great for the prosecution. But they may convince BM to make a deal, hopefully not a ridiculous deal (like KK, who’s already out of prison). MOO

Correct on the too lenient sentence for KK, Frazee’s case. They’re both accomplished attorneys. I’m sure BM has been looking around @ who to hire just in case. FBI met with him in April, he’s had to feel them breathing down his neck (I hope!).
EBM clarification

@Seattle1 Question please
Mike King @ProfilingEvil stated BM hired 2 new attorneys and terminated his relationship w/PD However, the document MK shows on screen includes the name Daniel Zettler, who is listed as the Office Manager of Colorado Public Defenders Salida Office. Did Zettler resign from PD, and join the law office of

Doesn't that just mean that all 3 attorneys have signed to acknowledge that they agree that Eytan and Nielsen are taking over?

These men! These self-obsessed, abusive, controlling, selfish . . . words fail me . . . men! Nobody is safe if they are hindered in any way. Anyone who does that deserves what they get! PS my apologies to all the decent men out there ;)
I feel you! I move from angry to very sad for SM several times a day. Husbands who dispose of wives/partners like trash seems to be happening more. On @ProfilingEvil, SMs step-brother asked for those wanting to honor SM to watch out for each other, pay closer attention to what friends, family members, neighbors might be going through. Don’t be afraid to ask the hard questions. Abuse is still a taboo topic thats swept under the rug, the abused are embarrassed & feel responsible for the situation. There has to be a better way to reach out to those who need help.

Yes, I edited my post. The first part of my post I didn’t intend to include, as it had been answered.

Yes MOO Here is visual of layout showing the TWO attys that are new in the box on left from @ 1:47 in the video. At 13:10 he speaks of 3 new attys, but there are TWO within the new firm shown in the box, and referenced below that area.

Right?? Did you understand it that way?
So glad this was misunderstood because of CM. Sure would have hated to think CO tax payers were footing the bill.

I'm wondering what the connection is between counts 3 & 4 and the dates spanning May 10, 2020 to March 4, 2021.

COUNT 3-TAMPERING WITH PHYSICAL EVIDENCE (F6) Between and including May 9, 2020 and March 4, 2021, Barry Lee Morphew, believing that an official proceeding was pending or about to be instituted, and acting without legal right or authority, unlawfully and feloniously destroyed, mutilated, concealed, removed, or altered physical evidence with intent to impair its verity or availability in the pending or prospective official proceeding; in violation of section 18-8-610(1)(a), C.R.S.

COUNT 4-POSSESSION OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON (F5) Between and including May 9, 2020 and March 4, 2021, Barry Lee Morphew unlawfully, feloniously, and knowingly possessed a dangerous weapon, namely: short rifle; in violation of section 18-12-102(3), C.R.S.

We know the PP home was sold on March 3, 2021. Is it possible that LE moved in on the home directly after it sold (March 4) , and found some type of evidence? Did they find the gun hidden or buried at PP? Could that be the physical evidence he concealed/tried to destroy? Is it the murder weapon they found?

Was this that one final piece of evidence LE needed to "seal the envelope" and present it to the DA?

It has to be related to the home sale. It’s too coincidental with how the dates line up for it not to be.

I wonder if more information and evidence about the case was found after the second PP search warrant but LE didn’t have enough for a judge to grant a 3rd search warrant. However, maybe the new owners consented to a search right after they closed on the home and LE went right to what the needed to find on that property on March 4th.

It can happen.
I just wanted to make sure, because if I heard it correctly even Mike said 3 lawyers when the third is clearly their LLC.

Or, for herself - divorce. Liberation. Finding someone who’d really appreciate her, be loyal, not controlling. Be happy.
I imagine Barry wouldn't have been happy about that idea. He had the most beautiful wife in the county and wasn't going to allow that to happen.

I haven't listened to the interview where he said "any bad guy" would take Suzanne, but just from reading the summary, it sounded as if he was talking about his most prized possession.

I can't picture anyone talking about the possibility of their loved one being abducted by a bad man and not being terrified or breaking down in tears.

He knew Suzanne was still young and beautiful and would likely have no problem finding another man who would treat her better.

He didn't think a bad guy got her, he was afraid a good guy would find her and he would lose her forever. Imo

Yes, LE must have known somehow that he had the gun in his possession at least until the house was sold. Maybe he sold it to someone and that person told police?

It seems likely (highly coincidental enough) that since this particular gun charge is included with the murder charges that this is the suspected murder weapon. If that is true, I doubt BM would sell an illegal fire arm that he used to murder his wife. Attempting to hide that weapon seems more likely.

I just want to say that if BM’s own greed in selling that PP home so quickly, lead to LE getting a 3rd search that lead to his arrest, it will be absolutely delicious irony.

Yes, if he used it in the crime I think he'd get rid of it so it would never be found. Aren't short rifles especially loud, though? I would think someone would have heard something.

Maybe this accounts for some of BM's million bucks?

These are good attorneys. They got the awful KK a sweet deal. They successfully defended Tom Fallis. If you read about that case, and what came out during the trial, I believe his wife did commit suicide. They're clearly very competent. So, no ineffective counsel claims down the road, right?

But those cases are oranges, and BM's case is an apple. Remember, the DA handed over a USB with all the discovery. That's a lot of information. And it's going to be damning. There's going to be so much forensic evidence. So much. The cell phone data, the internet searches, the GPS info, the EVI, whatever physical evidence was recovered from the search warrants and the accounting. Oh, the forensic accounting, a literal treasure chest of evidence, I bet.

And science doesn't lie. Numbers don't lie.

Barry's going to the big house.

All MOO

If BM did shoot Suzanne, and that is the gun used and he kept it, or buried it somewhere, a hundred better ways to dispose of it so that it never turns up, he's a bigger idiot than I ever could have guessed.

And of course it would be an illegal gun. BM does what BM wants. No rules need apply. If this was the gun he was waving around during Andy's search? Could he be that arrogant or is just that dumb?

Laws on firearms vary widely from state to state. There are actually online companies who will help Gun owners navigate the various laws. The firearm described in the charging document is legal in Indiana. BM may have owned it while living there and never got the required permit to legally have it in Colorado. It’s NOT a hunter’s weapon of choice, but the kind of firearm clearly a self-defense. MOO
