It was hinted at awfully strong in the CM interview last night. Apparently infidelity issues in Indiana, continuing after the move to CO, is what I took away from the conversation. MOO

That is also what I picked up from MM's comments. If anyone has not listened to the interview,it is well worth spending the time to listen to it. I am going to listen to it again as I might have missed a few things.

^^^^ Great, great post!
Awww thanks @Error505 and might I say that I always enjoy reading your posts! Yours is one of the names I always look for and get excited to read. And also @fcavanaugh posts too while I’m throwing out compliments. Well there’s many others especially from the original crew but I can’t list everyone right now off the top of my head. There are so many great minds and wonderful writers here and I always feel like my posts are not as good but I still want to contribute to the conversation even though my posts are too long and not enough paragraphs because my brain just works that way when I get excited about something. :p I will try very hard to control myself better when the AA comes out. I can’t wait to read all the posts later tonight after the hearing. But thank you, much appreciated coming from you! :D

I am glad to know BM was being unfaithful in Indiana! IMO Suzanne placed her faith that they could make a new start in Salida. I would be curious to know if the lady he was skirting around with followed , or perhaps arrived first in the area. What A jerk ! There could possibly be more arrests at a later date IMO unless the other woman rolled on him. Sure hope we do not encounter another KK !
Or if she is driving Suzanne's Land Rover in Indiana?

JMO, MOO

I wonder why it’s at 4:00 I believe that’s close to the end of the working day at 4:30 or 5:00. I would have thought it would be in the morning so therefore I anticipate this hearing will be brief with continuance of the AA or that’s the only hour defense attorneys were available. JMO

The glass is in hand already here :)
Thank goodness I can decide what days I'm working, naturally, tomorrow is supposed to be a day off - it probably won't be :D (I get bored easily and there is just never enough time!), this is important - I want Suzanne and all those who knew and loved her to see her getting justice.

The sister is so careful with her words, she pretty much confirmed what you say, just by edging out of her normal reticence. But I didn't hear any overtones of it being with the same person as in Indiana, and I didn't hear any indication that it was just one person in either/both places.

Hey, she wanted out and he murdered her, IMO. Ever had a boyfriend when you were younger, you didn't really care a lot about him until you noticed he was dumping you? Human nature, but not usually ending in murder thank goodness.

I’m pretty sure she’s married to Barry’s friend who’s a sheriff/chief? Someone help me out here lol
I believe Barry's friend is the brother of a sheriff.

With financial shenanigans thrown in, I think it really is this simple and straightforward.

Accused killer Barry Morphew expected back in court, faces two new charges - KRDO
SALIDA, Colo. (KRDO) -- Barry Morphew, the man accused of killing his wife Suzanne Morphew, is back in court Thursday for the second time since his arrest on May 5th.

According to documents posted to the Colorado Courts website, Morphew now faces two additional charges; tampering with a human body and possession of a dangerous weapon.

These are all the charges Morphew now currently faces:

  • Murder in the first degree
  • Tampering with a deceased human body
  • Tampering with physical evidence
  • Possession of a dangerous weapon
  • Attempt to influence a public servant
A legal analyst told our partners at 9News that the new charge of tampering with a human body, which documents say Morphew did between May 9th and 10th of 2020, could just be a suspicion by investigators. It could also mean they found a location where the body may have been at some point, and has been either hidden somewhere else or destroyed.

If Morphew is found guilty of tampering with a human body, he could face up to 32 years in prison for that charge alone.

The possession of a dangerous weapon charge means Morphew had to have a firearm silencer, machine gun, short shotgun, short rifle, or ballistic knife.

Morphew was also charged with forgery of a public record and election ballot defense for allegedly using his wife’s ballot to cast a vote for President Donald Trump in the 2020 election.

The arrest affidavit for the murder charge that Morphew faces is still sealed, and opposing parties have until May 27th to submit documents in response.

His virtual hearing starts at 4 p.m. Thursday in Chaffee County.

I agree. It also blows my mind. Do we even know if there was a mortgage lender on the Colorado house? Or on the Indiana home? My experience in purchasing five homes in my lifetime has been exactly the same as yours when it comes to mortgage lenders.

Based on what Suzanne's sister said in the interview, it sounds like BM was pretty slick in getting his hands on $100,000 of her elderly father's money. Money her elderly father needed to support himself. Suzanne's siblings are clearly suspicious of BM and perhaps they have been "onto" him for a very long time and that there was more to BM than what meets the eye. JMO. JMO, he may have borrowed money from other individuals as well to get into the Colorado home.

In what world does it makes any sense whatsoever to pick up roots when you are 50 years old AND self-employed and move across the country, with no guaranteed income, and build a mansion? Poor Suzanne. I so wish she would have been able to see it for what it was. It was a huge red flag that things were really spinning out of control with BM, JMO.

BM managed to cause division in separating Suzanne from her siblings, due to the $100,000 loan and perhaps things that had happened in the past with him. It is just so incredibly sad.

I do not dispute the out of the ordinary nature of this, however, it's not as uncommon as you think.

They had no mortgage on either property.
I owned a bakery on the east coast, sold it and moved across the country where I began working on my commercial pilot's license at the age of 50. I'm no con or grifter, i'm just a person full of wanderlust and an insatiable appetite for adventure. I think the move was spun to be something of a savior and she once again wanted to believe....

I think the telling part of this move was SM's desire for a "new start". I also found MM's advice to be sage. "If there are problems in Indiana, moving to Colorado will not solve them. The same problems will be there in Colorado".

I think that shame makes us keep secrets that ultimately cost SM her life. I believe in some way she felt as if she was failing. Why wasn't she enough? Maybe the bigger home in an area they both loved would help him be satisfied? Maybe living closer to the oldest again would help him recommit? I think she was full of hope and then while simultaneously fighting for her life became tired of the same lies and issues that had begun spinning BM out of control and causing strife in the relationship. I also think that despite her work with Al-Anon to cope with issues from her dad, she resented BM for pulling one of his schemes with Gene.

Whatever the text to MM read, it seems clear that again, SM was accepting responsibility for something. As if, admitting what BM had been doing was a poor reflection on her, some kind of failing on her part as a wife. How sad is that? My heart broke for SM as I listened last night.

Ok I think I'm ready but when I add my access code and click join it says

Judge Murphy

Thanks for waiting. We'll start the meeting when the host joins....

Y'all getting this or did I miss a step (this wouldn't be uncommon for me, hence the reason my husband doesn't let me cook - not that I want to :D)

Good post! That’s awesome that you made such an adventurous move at that age!

I was just wondering if maybe Suzanne had a diary that she wrote in frequently and chronicled the deterioration of her marriage? Wouldn’t that be something if her own words came back to bite Barry in the a@#!!! One could only hope!

You shouldn't have to purchase an app.

I use my windows work laptop and do not download the software for various trials I watch across the country. I can view only using my browser (no sign in), and just select "join meeting." This method works unless Court determines a court provided password required. MOO
