Or LE recovered video that showed Barry alone with Suzanne’s bike in the area where her bike was “discovered.” This type of evidence, and those that you mentioned above, would be a reasonable explanation for why the abduction scenario never gained traction.

True. If even one of these things captured him in the act of harming Suzanne, or like you wrote in the area where her bike was, why did it take so long for an arrest? These are things that puzzle me.

Could be they didn't have any of these smart things, except a computer and Suzanne's Kindle which could have a wealth of information on them. I just don't know.

Funny. I grew up in the south, Bible Belt, and I now live in the North. No difference.
People are people.

In no way would any man from the “Bible belt” fraudulently vote for his wife. Excuse me...dead wife. BM is a heinous person and he is from the North, where I live now.

A gentleman is a gentleman. A murderer is a murderer. Period.

I wasn't referring to Barry. People in the North can be brutal, too. I'll admit to that. It was a culture shock moving here. There are things here I never expected. Maybe I'm naive, but I don't think so.

I don't think Barry was ever a gentleman. At least not from anything I've read about him. He's a murderer and should be in a concrete cage behind a steel door for the rest of his life. Suzanne deserves justice.

These are strange times with Covid, and this will allow for more people to attend.

So I imagine there will be a computer there that is signed into the WebEx broadcast, and it will be displayed on a large screen.

I don’t think they actually have Barry on video dumping the bike, but even if they did, that probably wouldn’t be enough.

It would of course be enough for lesser charges, but they wanted him for murder.

That scenario would prove that he was involved, but it wouldn’t by itself prove that he killed her.

To me it would, but the prosecution would need a hell of a lot more to feel comfortable.

You're right and they're going to try this case without a body so they needed all the evidence they could get. Why didn't I think of that?

I believe they have enough evidence to send this monster to prison for the rest of his natural life. I just hope the jury convicts him.

Question..Can the judge issue a gag order at this point? That would be awful after waiting this long.

Thanks @MassGuy

I learned about, "Bless your heart" while shopping in lovely boutiques in MS.
I thought the ladies were so sweet.
My daughter clued me in on the REAL meaning of acid-tongued, nice meanness....sounding proper, while being awful.

So BM, "Bless your heart!"
You had no right to take SM's life!
How dare you!

MOO

Few years ago my sister and female cousin and I were talking about how everyone these days say that Bless your Heart has always been mean spirited and an insult. We never used it that way growing up in Texas and Oklahoma. We still say it to (and about )anyone who’s having a rough time or got bad news, etc. Bless her heart. Still use it like that.
I bet ( hope) those MS ladies meant it sincerely with you.
I do know that today it’s used as a veiled insult. JMO

I believe he could, but I don’t see a reason to. The defense isn’t causing problems by speaking to the media, and the DA’s office is behaving according to policy.

In the UK, and many other countries, a judge can put a gag order on the media. That cannot happen here, as it would be Unconstitutional.

The media is free to report everything that occurs at that hearing, and everything that occurs going forward.

Getting them in early so all is good. Plus, we are not set to engage in services until September at the earliest. Without getting into identifiable details of my job, I would never jeopardize a family's needs for true crime. But that doesn't mean that I cannot offer up alternative days and times when there is not an urgent need for a certain date or ASAP.
Oh no! I meant giving up your Sunday to help them so that Monday you could 'watch' this hearing! It was absolutely not my intention to criticize you but now I see how it could've been taken two ways.

I see folks talking about taking time off for BM’s hearing.
I had a jury summons for 8/10 so I went online and asked for a postponement. Got an email today that my request was granted and I will now have to report on 9/9.
Y’all , I’m going to be in the same courthouse as Letecia on the first day of her Prelim. Lol.
Better be there extra early because I think parking might be hard to find.

Most likely already mentioned, but I think there will be CCTV of BM on the Sunday driving to Denver with a big Cooler in the back of the truck. CCTV will likely show the return trip, minus the big cooler. IMO.

Same page here Cindizzi. Thanks for your post. I think chances are just as likely they may have been sincere.

No. This is a public hearing and is on the record. All transcripts of testimony should be made available. Unless anything is ordered under seal I don’t think a gag order could apply here. JMO though.

Unlike in the Jennifer Dulos case, the gag order was fought by the defense attornies from the day it was issued.

Thank you!

Where are you Suzanne and Jennifer?

I was curious what the setup will look like for the WebEx viewing at the Chaffee County Fairgrounds. (I was picturing bleachers and an inflatable Jumbotron!)

But the KKTV article says the court will livestream the proceedings into the main hall at the fairgrounds. The Fairground website has links for event layouts in the hall.

Here is a link to the theater setup, and it shows a pull-down projection screen. https://www.chaffeecounty.org/EndUserFiles/63506.pdf

Bless your heart and I mean that in a very sincere way.

This world has turned very ugly.

Where are you Suzanne and Jennifer?

Yup, they only seem to be necessary when private attorneys are defending the accused. Many times they are hoping to cash in on the publicity, like our boy Norm.

When the public defender’s office is utilized, there’s no need for a gag order, as they have a policy that restricts them from commenting on the case outside of normal protocols.

The same is true for the prosecution as well.

Just in time for the AA to be released. Can you ask for another postponement?
