I want someone to ask Jeff, “Did you intend to leave your wife and marry Suzanne?”
I think we got our answer: JL wanted to support SM being on her own whether they would be together or not.

Libler said the affair made him nervous and he didn't want to lose his job or his family. He said he didn't want Suzanne's legacy to be that she had an affair "with that guy."

So this far, it appears they’re laying the foundation for what comes next, I imagine? I mean if Barry didn’t know about the affair, what does it have to do with anything? Are they getting to a point where she toldBarry it’s over so he killed her?
They are definitely laying the groundwork for something, MOO.

I don’t buy that JL thinks BM didn’t know (or at least suspect.) Then why did Suzanne have to switch to LinkedIn? There was a tweet today that said BM was snooping at her texts.

He was using his phone to send her messages, so goes to reason that he was where is phone was
Unless he was using a Google Voice number. Your phone doesn't have to be with you to text & call even though your phone is linked to a GV account and can also be used with the same number.

i don’t drink (yet....between this and the summer wells case it might drive me to it) but I did pick up some comfort food for dinner because today was A LOT.

I can’t believe there’s 3 more days of this. And by this I mean probably the defense holding onto different aspects and dragging things out.

Besides the affair, any important highlights I missed? I saw Lauren Scarf’s tweets. I didn’t read anything else that jumped out at me. Looks like SM was seeking a valid, biblical reason to divorce. But aside from that, anything?

I am feeling the same. And I want to throw my phone against the wall. I desperately want to hear this guy say he also loved Suzanne and it was real. I want to believe she had some genuine happiness before she was gone.
I think she did have some genuine happiness with this guy - she was so needy she overlooked
all the improbabilites - IMO the two of them were never going to Ecuador but she needed sometihng to hold onto and he was it at that moment in time. Would it last? Who cares at this point ? She had been so beaten down by Barry that she needed that feeling of hope - I am glad she thought she had found her soul mate -. On th eother hand altho it makes for good drama for the media, it is all just a distraction away from the main event - Barry killing Suzanne. Along with others I am glad the affair is out in the open and now lets, for the love of whatever, move on - IMO only :)

I’ve had 3 beers and I WISH I had a lasagna to drown my sorrows in.
I’m almost glad that the second half isn’t until the 23/24th. So much to try and comprehend. Still want to see that AA though.

Agreed. They could try to even pin it onLiebler. The state has to have some juicy stuff. But the fact that they’re bringing up the affair stuff indicates to me that it plays a part in her murder.
@gitana1 good to see you! As an attorney, how much of this is getting in do you think?

We'll never know; however, I think that he might have been serious. They were seeing each other every few months.

JMO.
We don't know squat about how JL felt or why he didn't not come forward earlier in the investigation.
For that matter, we don't know the status of his marriage now or when they began corresponding OR if his wife knew about Suzanne or not. Supposedly, two of his kids did know and that makes me think there's more to it than meets the eye.
We may find out if he's called as a witness but I'm not taking bets.
All I see is a ton of mudslinging. If he's not called by the defense or the prosecution then that's all this was, convenient mudslinging to tarnish Suzanne - the victim.

Thank goodness, I'm mentally drained from it all. Pouring myself a stiff drink.
Same. Mentally whipped and eyes stinging & dry from being online all day. I feel kind of sick to my stomach about all of this. Or maybe just upset and hungry but I’m having a big ‘ole glass of wine before I cook dinner. Hopefully tomorrow we will hear more evidence against Barry! I need to process everything we learned today. My heart aches for Suzanne who just wanted to be loved.

Just a random inconsequential thought:

Remember the upcoming wedding SM was helping her friend with? I think it was in Indiana. I wonder if former classmate JL was invited.

I wonder if either of the girls now realises how their father used them to belittle and hurt their mother.

I am not a psychologist nor psychiatrist, the following statement is based upon my learnings/research and more importantly, my own experience.:( Unfortunately, as I have seen in my own personal situation with my sister's passing, the daughters are typically manipulated and brainwashed (slow and insidious process) by the father. Furthermore, they already lost one parent, so psychologically, their brain cannot process another potential loss ( father going to prison or simply that another truth exists). Protective mechanism. JMHO
On lunch til 1:30 pm. Same thing. First come, first serve... I should be able to make it in again. In line with nobody else here...

Intense... i took ton of notes... i am a bit floored with what we have already learned...

NoSi, we all appreciate you being the boots on the ground!! Very grateful :)

Besides the affair, any important highlights I missed? I saw Lauren Scarf’s tweets. I didn’t read anything else that jumped out at me. Looks like SM was seeking a valid, biblical reason to divorce. But aside from that, anything?

Two friends of Suzanne’s, SO and HW, wore wires when meeting with Barry. We don’t know yet what they got, though.

i jumped into this late but also the no blood found in home or cars, Suzanne’s last message around 2:15pm on may 9 while BM’s movements started roughly a half hour later...

I may be missing 1-2 things so hopefully someone else can respond too. My brain is mush from the affair info along with the fact that the whole day was spent on it. I think Lauren’s tweets covered the day though

6 kids and a wife...and does not contact LE when Suzanne's disappearance is all of the national news. t
Not impressed.
What! This is so wrong on his part and Suzanne's.

Hi gitana1, do you think the defense will call JL as a witness or is this an opportunistic, veiled attempt to cause a reasonable doubt?

Warning: Some, or all, of this will likely be unpopular but here it is..

1. I will NOT give SM and JL a "pass" for having an affair. I do not think it's ok because she maybe didn't feel so lonely, had someone who really loved her, or any of the other carp being thrown around here. If they were both married with children, they should have left their marriages first and THEN been together.

That said, it also doesn't provide any excuse at all for her murder and has really nothing to do with the case that I can see except fodder for the defense and social media trolls. Judgement of JL and his actions has already started. I, for one, think the affair was wrong but I will wait for more info before deciding about anything else re: JL. I do know this: BM's actions impacted more lives than we even thought possible.

2. I certainly hope the prosecution has ALOT more than we've seen so far. Because as it stands right now, they have nada. I know everyone keeps saying to wait, we have more days, etc. But honestly I'm concerned. This doesn't seem to be a solid case at this point.

I can just imagine how devastated Suzanne would be to hear all this testimony today. Makes me even sadder. She pinned hope on someone that didn't even have the guts to call LE when they were pleading for any information that would help them. And we don't even know exactly what happened other than her husband was the one that last saw her and reportedly spent many hours in cover up mode. I hope tomorrow we get to BM and his doings, not Suzanne and hers.

If the Secret Pen was discovered in Suzanne's closet any hope that it caught recordings of the last moments she was together with BM in the house?
