Is this correct tho. Or did it come from a Salida newspaper with extensive misinformation?
The Mountain Mail looked legitimate covering the PCs etc. What was that?

BM is clearly wearing a wedding band in the "Watusi" photos during the early days.
It could've been a calculated gesture, of course.
Maybe he had bought a cheap one somewhere to replace.

There can be many different tools that do the same job.
Yes. But if a defense lawyer brought a piece of evidence altered to be translated from English to Spanish and then asked a non-Spanish speaking witness for the prosecution to interpret it, would that not be similar? I'm no expert in law or courts but especially with a tight court timeline for the prelim, it's just ODD to me. They want to find any specious reason to run out the clock and the judge permitted it.

I think he shot or jabbed her with the dart and made sure she could not use that phone. And as soon as he could he picked her up and in the hot tub they went.:(
Then he had wet clothes (with a dart cap in his pocket) that needed to go in the dryer.
I'm guessing he wanted chlorine to clean the hot tub and whatever else?
IDK where she might be or if she is in one piece.
I'm suspicious of the tools.
As far as what he did in the hotel room..well maybe he slept cuz he certainly was busy all hours of the night.
They also mentioned his going down to the creek bind the house...I've always been suspicious of that for some reason.
Did they ever search or take soil samples from the creek area behind the house? Did they drain and get any forensics on the hot tub (i.e. filters etc).

Ahhhhh! Great movie!
Something happened that involved a tranquilizing dart. He admitted it. I highly doubt it was because of a chipmunk.
I don't think it matters where he got them and he knew how you use them.

Yes, although they don't have to prove that she's dead in the preliminary. They just have to show that she's probably dead. Here's how they did it:

  • She never touched her secret bank accounts
  • She didn't take her car
  • She stopped texting to anyone at all past the time when Barry came home on Saturday afternoon
  • She is never seen or heard from again after Barry comes home on that afternoon
  • Barry had been physically and emotionally abusive before
  • Barry had threatened suicide (and therefore, was unstable)
  • Barry had likely just found out about her affair
  • Barry likely knew she had reached out to her sister about the abuse
  • They were fighting over money
  • She didn't follow through on any plans with JL
  • Barry goes to a great deal of trouble to reset data on his truck, and to put his phone in airplane mode while he travels about in the middle of the night and in the afternoon when Suzanne ceases to give proof of life
They don't have to prove it to a jury at this point - that's different. This is for the judge who, by the way, has seen all of the evidence, not just what we're seeing. In particular he's got that A.A. to guide him. Judge gets to decide whether there's a reasonable suspicion that Suzanne is dead.

In short, a turbulent relationship with two motives for murder - and Suzanne turns up missing.
And she missed her life-saving treatment appointment...

If link doesn't work, it's thread 66 post #87
About 6minute 9sec mark, she feeding birds but a chipmunk runs onto her knee and another one running round

Eta - it worked!
Wow, that made the waterworks start. :( So very sad for Suzanne, she did not deserve this ending.

She beat cancer twice, only to end up being murdered by her dear, loving, christian husband of 27 years.

MOO

We haven’t gotten that far yet. I expect to hear about all the CSI stuff next week.

Anyone else think Barry tranquilized SM, then put her in the hot tub to drown? No blood. He claims she looked drunk in the last picture of her. I think he is trying to imply that she got so drunk that she passed out in the hot tub and died.... if so tho, why not call 911 when he found her? Oh that's right, she wasn't drunk, she had the tranquilizer drug in her... oops. And then he needs the hot tub repaired cuz that will put an unknown person's DNA/fingerprints on it and the chlorine would hopefully wash away any evidence that a dead body had been in the hot tub. He'll, maybe the hot tub repairs would have required the repairman to bring it to their shop and if that worked out (don't think it did), the hottub wouldn't even be at the house when SM was reported missing. All of this might also explain why he was at the spa store for an hour and a half. And he obviously at a bare minimum is narcissistic, tho I lean toward sociopath, which would explain why he was not emotional when he went there... jmo

They put house on hold, no one allowed in, on 5/11 and got a SW by 5/15. Stayed 10 days and left on 5/25. Returned 7/9 for a second SW.
SWs are sealed.

Just now hearing that he melted down her wedding ring, I am interested to learn when that happened!
Moo.
Can you cite the source for that. I don't believe there was anything ever disclosed about items other than her helmet.

And then he could leave said shovel (and a rake) in the lobby of HIE Broomsfield.

Whatever happened to all of those tools, anyway?
Did he wash those off first, so no trace of area soil sample?

jmoo

Funny you should ask about those tools!
I just found this from January, had never seen it.
LS says that MG had still been in touch with her as recently as October 2020 and MG said hey I still have some tools he never came back for.
LS told her to let LE know!

At 10:43

The affair with JL sounds more like a person dreaming of starting over, this time picking the right boy in high school.

I know nothing about how the prosecution will connect the dots. But just given what he was doing on Mother’s Day, I could easily sentence BM to life. He has already proven to be a liar about what he was doing and why. He couldn’t even think up something he was throwing away. I’m pretty sure he knows the investigators have found something. When more information is presented I have no doubt the jury will vote for LWOP one hundred percent.
Agree. To me the most disconcerting information is just how premeditated this all appears to be. This is a well thought out and planned assassination.

Not sure the theory lines up with the timeline and known facts... but coulda been a contender on a planning theory.

Unless having 8 kids was an unfulfilled fantasy!

As crazy as this sounds I am glad that the affair came to light (except for her girls hearing about it). It speaks directly to motive and in my opinion strengthens the prosecutors case.

Thank you. I am going to strongly assume that the daughters are either in total denial or that they are totally brainwashed into thinking he is innocent, but I would love to know if either have asked where he put Suzanne. Also wondering if after yesterday they want answers. All JMO
I think it’s likely that the girls were briefed ahead of time about “the lies they’d hear in court” and what the “truth” is. The bad bad men are trying to put poor ol dad away just because he was shooting chipmunks. I think that’s why we see the smiles. They’re hearing only what they’ve been told.

I always thought it was the boyfriends father - and we never really knew if BM put up "his" $100,000 so that it could even be matched - I wonder if the other $100,000 is now being used for his defense because I do think the "matching" funds were delivered.
JMO

The demographics of Salida are probably the best reference for fact versus fiction. Locals were quick to state how improbable (and inappropriate) the thought of the high school boyfriend family ponying up $100K matching reward. Any reward match by the boyfriend's family chalked up as one of many rumors that originated on social media. I do recall the same father compelled to make a public post to FB after another rumor that MM lived with his family.

I also don't see any locals contributing to BM's defense fund! Why would BM ever put up his $100K in escrow? The reward was nothing more than a husband's promise to pay if SM was returned alive and well. But I think it's probable BM and his bobcat collected some cash when he visited the family friend in Indiana last fall. MOO
