Planning a crime and then being faced with the reality that comes with the aftermath, are two very different things.

I just think he got sloppy at times, because his mind was probably racing.

He may have gone through periods where he was thinking clearly, and then wasn’t.

I believe this is the common denominator of narcissistic men like Barry who kill their wives. They are sure they've thought everything through logically to fool the dummies in LE.

It all seems to be going as planned and their genius prevails until the moment when they've killed and they go bat-poop crazy. Then the mistakes begin.....all the things they have to explain away as LE discovers evidence.

I can't wait to see all the details on charts in a courtroom as Barry slinks in his chair.

285 again... Quality of pics not great as i have to compress them so much to get them to upload.
I forget how truly beautiful CO is because I relate it to murdered spouses these days. But that picture is breathtaking.

Yes it was Tyson Draper.
Someone linked Tyson's Draper video for me the other day because I wanted to find the interview with BM's Mama ---she spoke to Tyson briefly at the end, while she was waiting in the truck.

But the video that was linked was an edited version---and the end with Mama was cut off. That video said that Tyson took his original version offline---so if anyone has that original one, that we saw back at the start, let me know.

I am pretty sure that she made a verbal accusation that SM was messing around on her son.

So BM uses any random device, and enters Suzanne’s email. He clicks “forgot my password,” and has a code sent to her phone. Perhaps she has my phone set like I do, where certain things pop up on my screen, even if my phone is locked. He enters that code on the device he is using, and voila.

We’re almost certain to hear a heck of a lot more about this in two weeks.
That is how I used to spy on my teen daughters phone when she was a little too on the dangerous edge of the wild side....

I went down this road before and it was explained to me-he supposedly shot chipmunks with the 22, not with tranquilizer darts. Still though that’s over 80 shots if you’re perfect. Neighbors would have heard the mad chipmunk killer.
I don't think he shot any chipmunks. Maybe one or two if they were chewing hot tub wires or something....but not 80 of them. That was just his bizarre mind trying come up with an explanation for what he was doing at the time. JMO

The part of the timeline that gets Barry:
5/10
2:53 am Outgoing call on SM’s phone
3:26 am BM car door opened and closed
3:58 am BM cell moves from home to near 225/50 where bike found

Barry’s statement is that he set his alarm for 4:30 am, and left a sleeping Suzanne around 5 am. How did his door open and close, and why was his cell phone moving to where the bike was found, when he was asleep in bed?
The only thing that worries me is something Lauren tweeted----I can't find it now but I did see it---

She said something like 'that phone pinging by the bike location isn't that helpful a clue, because that street is the only way out of the neighborhood. '

So in other words, all it really does is prove he lied about what time he left that morning. But it doesn't necessarily mean he dumped the bike because he had to use that road to leave anyway.

I hope they have more to add to it---to make it more incriminating.

One issue I have with the strangulation or drowning possibility: why the need to dispose of the camo coat and hiking boots?

If SM's DNA were on either (and it was not indicative of copious amounts of blood), it wouldn't be unusual that a wife's DNA might be on her husband's boots or coat, so no need to dispose of them. It seems to me that BM threw away the coat and boots because he feared they might have some substance on them that clearly indicated SM had died and he was around when it happened. That could be blood, or some bodily substances she might lose while dying, or cadaverine.
Or maybe he was afraid he left bootprints somewhere, and wanted to get rid of them so they couldn't be checked?

Or maybe he was afraid they'd find some dirt or something that could identify where he had hiked?

I would presume the bedsheets were stripped when Holly and the girls went on the camping trip. Also if they don’t clean the lint trap every load it could be the cap was in a shorts pocket just as easily the sheets and went through the wash and got caught during the dry cycle prior to the 9th.

BBM

Who's Holly?

I just had a thought…

What if BM came home to find the money gone (alleged 70k in safe)and flipped? He was circling the house trying to find it? That’s a big”what if”.
I am not convinced there was ever 70k in that safe. Who leaves that much cash in their GARAGE safe? That makes no sense that a greedy miser like him would do that. JMO

I am wondering how they are going to prove that the tranquiliser was used in the murder - if they intend to use that as part of their evidence, which I presume they will as they have introduced it in the Prelim.

Do they have statements from the daughter(s) saying "mum always cleaned the lint trap/vent/whatever after using the dryer"? (Perhaps not knowing what evidence they were helping with.)
And even then, could mum have missed a little tranq cap when doing that type of cleaning?
She wouldn't have missed it from the lint trap on the dryer door. But the wall vent? I never clear mine---I get my husband to do it when I randomly think of it , but rarely...

There’s so much to unpack from the last two days.

I don’t recall what device of SM this happened from, but the FB requests of SM to guys in IN late Sat or early Sun- I’m having a hard time believing BM has the password to this device, especially if it was her cell. She’s going to great lengths to conceal her conversations with JL, I can’t imagine BM had access that easily. Thoughts on this one? IMO

MOO and my speculation:

I think BM was so controlling, the only way SM was allowed to have FB or any social media was if he had all her passwords.Remember how her posting seemed to drop off in the last couple years before she disappeared? I think that's how she ended up messaging on LinkedIn (who even knew that was a thing?) and the other hidden apps. Like when you see couples who share a FB account, sure, most times it's just overly cutesy, but sometimes, you look at it and think, "Okay, who cheated?"

I don't think BM allowed Suzanne free access to his social media, though, which would dovetail with her being unhappy about the number of women he was FB friends with. And I would bet some of those "friendships" were inappropriate in one way or another.

On a side note, I had no idea there was a celebrity jihad site. And the Ashley Madison thing that caused Barry to shoot up straight in his chair is so predictable. I think every single case that involves an awful husband, Ashley Madison comes up at some point.

The late Ann Rule. This would have been right up her alley.

I agree- if he shot her with the dart there would be screaming and she would have time to text something if she had the phone. Perhaps more plausible is that he physically subdued her while injecting her because he thought that was more "humane" for what was coming next.
There is a reason that Barry is facing the short rifle charge....I think its tied to the dart....otherwise...why that charge?

  • #619
Sure, but even a vaccine injection can bleed. I think the velocity of a propelled dart on human skin would be traumatic. Plus the eventual fall, if there was this running around period the prosecutors suggested.

I’m mostly questioning the running around/chasing scenario. That alone sounds like it could easily end up bloody.

MOO
She was wearing a bathing suit if I recall correctly....so the likelihood that the dart hit bare skin is greater, imo. There is a reason that dart cap made its way into the dryer vent. Either Barry wrapped Suzanne while he moved her or he had the cap in his pocket and forgot it...either way he washed clothing and maybe other articles to cover up evidence and that item got away from him. I see the cap in the dryer as directly connected to cover up cleaning.

I don't think Barry said he was shooting chipmunks with darts. He just said he was shooting them (probably w/.22) - to explain his movements around the house, rather than explaining the darts/tranquilizer.

jmoo
was the .22 the short rifle?
