Following drugged prey outside as it runs then stumbles around, keeping the prey from going inside the house to pull stuff down. MOO that wouldn't leave struggle evidence or bruises etc.

Didn’t the prosecution use the word “chased”, and talk about how fast the movements were in those minutes?

It’s really stuck out to me as an odd conclusion. It’s why he said he was shooting chipmunks, isn’t it?

“Later during Tuesday’s testimony, defense attorney Dru Nielsen questioned Grusing about phone data which prosecutors showed in court and said made it appear that Barry Morphew was running around their home right after arriving. Nielsen said the affidavit states that there is an opinion that he was “most likely chasing Suzanne around” and had Grusing point out that neighbors heard no unusual noises around that time.”

How many meth heads did this guy employ? Is it possible one of them went to his house on Mother's day and caused Suzanne's demise?
What did they have for dinner?
MOO I think the final course of their downward spiral.
MOO Suzanne still trusted BM to be just difficult.

Following drugged prey outside as it runs then stumbles around, just intervening enough to keep the prey from going inside the house to pull stuff down. MOO that wouldn't leave struggle evidence or bruises etc.
I know we are all just spitballing here, but I really feel like as a hunter, he would not want to risk the possibility that she would make it back into the house or dial a phone or scream. If he was moving about, I’m not so sure that he was chasing. He would want to immobilize his prey with the first shot. Hunters don’t scramble about chasing an animal (except chipmunks). How did he kill Suzanne and leave no trace? Were the chaise lounges in the exact position that they always were? Was Suzanne lying on a towel that cannot be found? My brain won’t stop.

But when BM went into Salida just two hours later (and before SM’s last proof of life, before she went digitally silent), he asked JP to do the job in Broomfield. And he’d made the company he was subcontracted to in Indiana aware of his Broomfield plans on Thurs, May 7 (according to one of their employees).

There had to be a particular reason he didn’t want MG to know about the Broomfield job until the very last minute.

MG stated in earlier interviews that she was well aware of the Broomfield wall repair, and the plan was for only BM and MG to do the work at a later date. She did not expect BM to call on Sunday with the change of plans for Broomfield.

I also don't think BM asked JP if he was available to work the next day (Sunday) in Broomfield when they met Saturday. JP stated that after MG called him for Broomfield, he was somewhat surprised and personally phoned BM on Sunday to confirm the job request in Broomfield.

I think JP was known to MG, and it was MG that had mentioned to BM in passing that he should introduce himself to JP before they would get too busy given construction season was about to gear up. Broomfield was the first time JP ever worked for BM. MOO

I keep thinking about Barry's hour by the river 5/9. And that he ran into TD a few days later soaking wet in street clothes. That river must have been really cold at that time of year, so he must have felt there was something very important in that water.

Maybe there was a final fight before her death and she took off her wedding ring and threw it at Barry. Might have landed in the river.

Just a thought. I'll be curious to find out if that ring was ever found.

Can anyone describe the river? How wide or deep is it? Lazy flow or good current?

I looked up the water flow for the weekend and then the week where Suzanne went missing. It was moderate, and at one point I found a youtube drone shot of the river not too far away - I'd say that it was percolating along nicely, but in no way swift.

Not too far downstream, the river is dammed, I believe. The reservoir behind the dam was searched early on, as was the river itself.

Was being facetious about shooting them with darts. I guess I live in an urban bubble because I've NEVER heard of shooting chipmunks or squirrels, especially for target practice - as someone mentioned.
I bottle fed/loved three baby squirrels that were abandoned in the attic of our garage as a kid. They came back all the time for peanuts. Romeo, Juliet and Cleopatra. Still feed birds and squirrels to this day.
I just can't imagine killing little creatures for sport or trophies. CM made a point of how BM is 'a hunter'/'enjoys the hunt' [paraphrasing]. Still pondering that premise and what it infers.
Hunting for food one actually eats is another story, I suppose... I don't mean to disparage anyone where it's part of their regional demographic.
*going back to my happy place now*
:)

After reading the threads, I think it was Mass Guy who provided the link that Barry shot the chipmunks with a .22. Not poison darts.

Yes, it is normal to kill the little critters with .22 or pellet guns, traps left in the sun, and regular steel traps because they carry vermin and will destroy your vehicles, garden, and house. Plus if you have livestock/horses their burrows cause injury. And coyotes are an all-around fast-breeding menace so you shoot them.

You don’t ever ever ever ever want to use poison due to it affecting other creatures. It’s a travesty poison is still allowed on BLM lands. It’s just best to shoot the varmints. But that is time-consuming.

So I give Barry credit for just engaging in chit chat about shooting chipmunks.

But it’s really not what he did upon immediately coming home on 5/9/20 is it? Pretty lame excuse.

MOO "Chased" not right word for it. Contained more like it.
But I don't think the defense made a point about the Cellubrite and walls.
Obviously BM was there, and between 2:44 and 2:47 he says he was running around after chipmunks.
Those that have used FMIP know the tracking makes triangular patterns when someone is running around.

Thank you, this was exactly what I was looking for. It looks like the river is normally shallow enough for someone to wade around in.
Except May is a snow runoff month. Creeks and rivers can swell many times their normal flow for 2-3 weeks. I'm sure there is nearby hydrology info if anyone wants to research it.

Does anyone think that when Barry put the truck in reverse for 75 or so feet that he initially parked at the end of the driveway blocking any vehicles from arriving/leaving and to sneak up on Suzanne to shoot her with the tranquilizer dart?

Then, two hours later, after he cleaned up and put her in a cooler or whatever he did with her, he then backed the truck towards the garage to load up all of the evidence?

This could also account for the reason that Suzanne didn't hear him arrive.

JMO.

IIRC (I can't find the tweet) the defense challenged that BM could not have been moving around the house chasing SM like LE claimed. I believe they said he would have been moving over 30 mph and that's impossible. Does anyone remember this? IMO

Can someone delete? Like I said, I'm new to this posting thing.

Hi and Welcome to Websleuths.

You can’t delete a post, but for maybe 15 - 30 minutes after posting, you can hit the “Edit” link and type over your post. Just type DBM (deleted by me) and hit “Save”.

Alternatively, you can hit the “Report” button and request a mod to completely delete a post, but that’s usually only needed after its no longer able to be edited and you REALLY need it to be entirely deleted.

BM also accused LE of stealing the $70k. (According to FBI Grusling) How could LE have stolen the money, if BM accused SM of stealing it. LE didn’t have access to the safe until SM was reported missing.
BM’s gaslighting and lying again. I guarantee there was no $70k. He was trying to convince people she had ran off with it. That didn’t work so he accuses LE of stealing it. Probably hoping to pull a homeowners insurance scam. He’s a lying crook, moo

Well, BM can't pull an insurance scam for the 'missing' cash because insurance companies do not insure cash. Ever.

I did see one interview this week with a guy waiting to get into the preliminary hearing. He said he had worked for Barry at one time. I can’t come up with nine, but if I were a reporter, I would have gotten that guy’s contact info and tried to get an interview.
Weren't they contractors though and not employees? It seems they worked when he had a job too big for himself and needed help. Such as with MG. But what about JP who said he had never worked for Barry? He wouldn't be an employee I don't think. He might have been paid in cash. Who knows.

I think that pretty much everybody did work “for” Barry. I doubt that he had 9 employees on his payroll, I see him 1099ing everyone. Did he hold workers comp insurance for these people? I would love to be a forensic accountant that reviewed the Broomfield wall documentation. That’s government stuff and I wonder about the level of subcontracting and the proper certificates for this.

Thats gaslighting.
Gun to head threatening suicide, to "want to go on a hike?"

Exactly!! Classic BM to invite SM to go hiking and the minute she responded, asking if he wanted her to meet him (i.e., a mutual plan), BM pivoted with I'm headed home, end of discussion. I wonder how many times before did poor SM fall for this ploy only to have the rug pulled out beneath her? Gaslighting indeed. BM was testing the waters --attempting to gauge if SM was softening from her position. MOO

BBM The vermin they carry sometimes carry plague. Beware.

So let’s say the Salida Stove & Spa employee is incorrect, as the prosecution said. Please tell me when Barry could have been there. Any ideas? I can’t find any time that makes sense to me.

I am curious if he was there on Friday and not Saturday. Maybe they are correct on time and incorrect on date? That might make sense if he stopped in on Friday and I believe I saw he called them on Saturday to ask about when a good time was.. so maybe he discussed what needed done when he went in and the phone call Saturday was a follow up to see about when they could come out?

Not too far downstream, the river is dammed, I believe. The reservoir behind the dam was searched early on, as was the river itself.

Photos of the river, from the Zillow listing, show a pretty fast moving river. This was probably during different time of year, of course.
Also, do you recall how many reservoirs were searched? I wasn't following early on and was curious. I think I recall the search of a reservoir near where they found the bike. I am also curious about the size of the creek nearby their property.
