Pure speculation that it is the case of Jill Behrman, an Indiana case of a woman that went missing while on a bike ride. This link contains a podcast (but not Forensic Files.)

EP46: The Murder of Jill Behrman

Mickey Shunick is another bike ride case that plays on FF constantly. It's definitely in one of the 9 seasons that Netflix has available.

Side note for Forensic Files watchers: If you are sick of the 9 seasons on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video has 21 seasons.

Anyone else hoping that they showed MG the boots and camo coat that BM binned in Broomfield? Perhaps he was wearing them at worksite Saturday?
This is where mind goes in to overdrive, the camera on my phone is used A LOT and some of the time for work related stuff, perhaps MG did this Saturday morning for some reason? Maybe thats why BM allegedly sent some friends to give a not so friendly reminder that she didn't need to hand over her phone - BM's boots and camo coat could be seen on it?

Really unlikely but just as plausible as some of BM's theories as to what happened o_O

Although BM was quick to malign his crew (MG, CC) as "methheads," I think his initial draw to hire them would be their age and that they were both natives of the area.

If you look at the demographics, it stands to reason that this age group remains in the area either because of family ties or because they can't afford to leave. CC and MG probably knew every local property owner where BM had jobs, and BM did not want to spend any time training. BM and his new money had to be equally attractive to the crew. I think CC wanted to be BM.

LS recently provided that JP immediately instructed MG to begin compiling a list of everything she could think of regarding her observation and interactions with BM in the week prior to May 10.

Personally, I think both MG and CC spent more time with investigators than we will ever know. Especially the FBI behavioralist. MOO

Salida, Colorado - Wikipedia

ETA: I'm currently following the quadruple murder trial (Chad Isaak) in ND. No motive why this man allegedly killed four co-workers, and nobody knows the guy. That's difficult.

Well, honestly, that was my impression. Again, looking through this with my own lense... It was mentioned with the other meds, so it was my impression that he was talking about hydrocodone. It was not confirmed. So take with grain (or block) of salt... :)

I think it's hydrocodone as well. All the medications you listed can have mood altering effects and would be referred to as medications as was quoted from SMs grievances list. Nobody calls weed "medication". I have a medical card and have never referred to it as such, if anything, I make it sound worse because I refer to the weed pharmacist as my dealer. Lol Granted, I have a very dark sense of humor (trauma will do that) and I doubt SM was a dark and sailor like as I am, but regardless, I doubt she called weed a medication or hydro. Back to my point, BM was complaining that he didn't want her on these meds because he didn't like change of mood side effects. Weed changes your mood, usually for the better, all the others have a potential side effect of causing suicidal thoughts. I have been on all the things listed at one time or another. I was quite crabby when on hydrocodone... maybe SM was too. Jmo

I know there has been post about BM and SM's daughters supporting him at court.
Now this is called jumping down the white rabbit hole.
He could have possibly told them that , Sorry girls, she had been drinking that day and we had been fighting.
And then she started taking her pain meds, the next thing I knew she was passed out , drowned in the hot tub?
I couldn't tell anyone because no one would possibly believe this? IMO

Well he would be correct. IMO

This is important to me. I was born in Dallas but moved to El Paso when I was five with my brother. My father worked for Oldsmobile. On the
surface their life looked like a fairytale. My mother died just before my 7th birthday. The last things I remember are my father carrying my
mother out of the bedroom , down the hallway and laying her on the couch. Almost immediately, the ambulance and paramedics were there.
The neighbor lady quickly took me and my brother next door. But we looked out the window. That was the last time I saw my mother, being
wheeled out of the house and being put into the ambulance and driving away.

So who do you think has had to grow up wondering whether your father killed your mother or not ??

I has there and I still love my father dearly.
IMO

Not that I’m aware. I’d be shocked if it’s missing though, as Barry wasn’t staging a “Gone Girl” scenario. That’s merely an argument his attorneys are making after the fact.
Unless Eguardo borrowed it...

Mod Note:
Rumors or negative speculation of journalists and approved sources is not to be brought to WS Threads.

Thanks

That makes a lot of sense. I should change that in doc. If i could only figure out how to change it without the link changing...

Not to worry @NoSI-- I think it's good to present your observation. However, you can always add a disclaimer by the author at the end of your notes to add that the witness may have used the abbreviated term "Hydro" and this could have a second meaning other than hydrocodone. :)

I agree. There could be two hydros here. If it was referred to as hydro in one place, and hydrocodone in another, we are not positive that they are the same. A good assumption, but not fact.

I'm not 100% clear, but if you question whether your father killed your mother, you are allowed to request her autopsy report and death certificate. Those will answer alot of your questions. They did for me with my mother's suicide. Hopefully an autopsy was done and you can clear your mind completely. Most men don't kill their spouses, so your dad most likely didn't have a hand in your mom's death, but seeing those reports can definitely help with healing. And in case it is a worry of yours, they don't send pictures or anything, just the clinical notes. Jmo

Special Agent Ken Harris is on the stand now. He has been trained in the Behavioral Analysis Unit which lead him to being involved in this case. He was looking into #SuzanneMorphew behaviors to help put pieces together. @KKTV11News

Agent Harris listened to the recordings from the spy pen that was apparently placed in #BarryMorphew truck. He says the recording plays several podcasts from forensic files episodes that they believe Barry was listening to during drives. @KKTV11News #SuzanneMorphew

He says one of the Forensic File episodes was about someone going missing on a bike ride.

Tables then turn to several more recordings about some of the conversations Barry and Suzanne had.
@KKTV11News #BarryMorphew #SuzanneMorphew
SA Harris is continuing to detail the texts between #SuzanneMorphew and her best friend Sheila. Suzanne made a comment that she can't "handle the unstableness"

Texts say sometimes small things would just "set Barry off" and he would leave and come back and be fine. There was another time when #BarryMorphew allegedly brought their daughters into their arguments to pick sides. #SuzanneMorphew @KKTV11News

Harris says Sheila told them #SuzanneMorphew said she was possibly being physically abused by #BarryMorphew. She allegedly told Sheila he pushed her into a closet door and held a gun to her head, on a different occasion he allegedly would pin her on a bed.@KKTV11News

Sheila told investigators that #BarryMorphew would say things like "I'm going to tell the girls you don't love me." SA Harris says that is a control mechanism to try to put the girls against #SuzanneMorphew.@KKTV11News

Sheila allegedly began to ask #SuzanneMorphew to make a sort of "what if" list about what she would do after her and #BarryMorphew seperated. Texts show Suzanne told Sheila, Barry wanted her to be the bad guy and he wanted to look good. @KKTV11News

SuzanneMorphew allegedly continued to tell #BarryMorphew that she needed peace and wanted out. Says she wanted to wait until their daughter Macy was out of the house. @KKTV11News

Sheila and #SuzanneMorphew talked about a time when Suzanne would talk about leaving #BarryMorphew would ask her who would pay for her medical bills from her cancer treatments. @KKTV11News

Sheila told SA Harris that #SuzanneMorphew was in the middle of her chemo treatments while she and #BarryMorphew were fighting. @KKTV11News

Sheila and #SuzanneMorphew talked about how Suzanne's youngest, Macy, encouraged her to get a divorce and said that Suzanne should get a restraining order against #BarryMorphew if she needed. @KKTV11News

BarryMorphew would allegedly not talk to #SuzanneMorphew about divorce. In a text to her friend she said he begged for another chance, she was torn but said "in my heart I know who he is."

I am starting to feel uneasy about the write-up. That's how rumors are created and that is definitely not my intention and I don't want to be responsible for something like that. I also saw that the tweets from the courtroom said someone going missing while riding bike; i made that someone female in my write-up. I don't know... I was worried about this happening. It was hard to follow and keep up with...

I really wonder if I should take it down. That's how rumors are created and that is definitely not my intention and I don't want to be responsible for something like that. You are doing amazing! Please don't take your work down. Journalists have all worded things differently and confusingly. Your notes are the clearest of all I have seen. You are just getting alot of questions because you are easier to get ahold of than most of the Journalists and we trust you. I know I do. Jmo

Hi, this is the write-up for Day 1 of BMs preliminary hearing on August 9, 2021. @MassGuy had a great idea to try this via Good Doc as the document is a bit long. I hope this works. If not, I will keep working on it. You should just be able to copy the below link in your browser and this should take you to the document.

Please note that I cannot vouch that everything on this write up is 100% correct as I had a very difficult time keeping up with the information by hand. I am especially concerned about dates etc. If you see any glaring errors, please let me know.

I will start working on Day 2, but it will take me a few days.

Thanks for doing this!

I am way behind on the thread so I apologize if this has already been asked and answered...all I get is an error message?

It's probably an operator malfunction, meaning I am not doing it correctly on my iPad!

TIA to anyone who can help me with this!

ETA - please disregard the above as I was able to click on another link that was provided and I was able to read it. Thanks!

Very plausible, and not necessarily unlikely!
Good thoughts there.
Really looking forward to her testimony.

I’m sure you got the vast majority of the details right, and any errors don’t diminish the benefit of us being able to refer to such comprehensive notes.

Hell, several journalists got crucial facts wrong in some of their Tweets.

Does the specific medication/substance that Barry took issue with, have any bearing on our understanding of this case?

No.

If anyone is reading what you wrote and treating all of it as fact, that’s on them.

You aren’t the only one. I considered it, a bit differently. I pictured Suzanne, radiant, excited and titillated by her conversation with JL. In a “love the one you’re with” moment of spontaneity, she was willing (perhaps eager) to participate with Barry upon his arrival. But.. he.. uh-hum.. couldn’t perform. His embarrassment, and rage at realizing she wasn’t turned on by him, but by another man, escalated into an argument, and ultimately, Suzanne’s demise.
Or BM couldn’t get her to comply. Another poster stated that some drugs in tranquilizers are used as a date rape drug. My imagination is just running wild I think. But perhaps BM couldn’t get what he wanted by asking so he just takes it.. jmo

You are great and you did great! You don’t have to change anything. These are your impressions from your notes. I am glad we can ask you questions, but we aren’t holding you to it like you are on trial here. Don’t overthink it. You did a fabulous job, just like you did when you searched for Suzanne. Just like Oviedo & OldCop work on the timeline, you give us the courtroom.

Thank you, trust me, I have sleuthed this for your years.

Oh, I have sleuthed this one your years. There was most definitely that accusation. A 30 year old does not just die in the middle of the night. My dad traveled
5 days a week and was only home on the weekends. But I do remember she had depression problems. She missed her family in Duncan. My father was never there.
Do I think he killed her? 98.2% says no . It doesn't bother me now but it did. Like going to grade school etc. My father's estranged son tried to dig into it.
But he's a total Asshat. IMO

I agree about this. NoSi was doing us a service.
I’m shocked at how journalists get things wrong and that is even when they have time to fact check their articles. Most can’t write or spell. The least they could do is report the facts and be truthful. It’s sad really.

@NoSI - You are a rock star!

Seriously, I think I speak for all in that we truly appreciate you providing us what you observed during the preliminary. There were zero expectations for you to act as a professional courtroom reporter, and respectfully, you shouldn't have those expectations of yourself! :) Please don't downgrade your brilliant efforts.
