This is the latest update of the timeline for the dates surrounding the disappearance and murder of Suzanne Morphew. @oviedo and I have compiled this information based on the preliminary hearing testimony, LE information, and verified msm reports. Thanks to all the WSers who submitted Tweet information for us to pour through and to @NoSI for her eyewitness accounts.
We would like to add this to the Media, Maps, and Timeline thread, but first we would like to ask if anyone has anything to add, or if there are any errors that you can point out. The more folks who contribute, the more accurate this timeline will be.
We will update as new information becomes available and hope to be able to fill in some blanks after the next 2 hearing dates.

ETU BM goes to wall and works 11-15 minutes, removed blocks from wall.

11:20 am BM calls SM. No answer

12:06 pm BM calls MM1

12:27 pm BM throws away 2 bags, with camo coat, tree container, (tranquilizer material?), in dumpster at HIE. He walks across lot rather than parking near dumpster. BM walks back to hotel with hands in pocket and head down. Trash Dump #5

12:42-5:55 pm BM in room at HIE

3:39 pm texts SM, asks her to call him

5:15 pm PP neighbor Ritter calls

5:55 pm BM changed shirts again and left hotel room.

6:00 pm BM makes multiple trips in and out of hotel entrance bringing in hand tools including a shovel and rake. Asks front desk if he can leave them for his workers.

FBI Investigator on stand confirms Suzanne would track Barry through his phone and find my phone app. At times, she would tell her lover Barry was coming home so that they could stop talking. Barry would sometimes put his phone on airplane mode so she couldn't track him #9News

FBI Agent Harris testifies Barry said he and Suzanne had a “perfect night” day before he left for Broomfield and she disappeared. <sbm>

This evidence is gold. Suzanne has told people (or a person) this fact before her disappearance - this is knowledge about his M.O., not stated to influence LE or a jury in her own disappearance and murder. It's not LE having tunnel vision - assigning an inculpatory explanation for his phone being in airplane mode for 7 hours while he is having the "perfect" evening at home hiding his location from Suzanne, it's straight from the mouth of the person who lived with it and knew him and his thinking better than anyone else. He just moved his sights from trying to outwit Suzanne to trying to outwit LE. There's no one else with an interest in tracking Barry Morphew.

It's not a great excuse. The theory being that when you go through a zone that has no reception, put your phone in Airplane mode to save the battery. I have never put my phone
on airplane mode, even in the Airplane. If you have to put your phone in AP mode to save your battery for that time frame ? You need a new phone. Do you have a charging cord? In the truck? IMO

RSBM. Great time line. I'm confused about the location/movement data they got from BM's truck. They know the truck moved backwards approx 95 feet Saturday at 9:25 pm. Other than that, it doesn't seem like we know where the truck was during the night and early morning hours of Sat/Sun. All we know is that the State says that BM's cell was moving from his home to near the bike area at 3:58 am.

So, I’m convinced there’s another vehicle here.

Barry’s truck moved once, but just a ways down the driveway. We haven’t heard any evidence that Barry traveled anywhere until the early morning hours of the 10th.

Defense now recounting the movement of #BarryMorphew truck. Recall-- it was parked in the Morphew driveway from the afternoon of May 9th to early morning May 10th. @KKTV11News

He just has to have dumped Suzanne’s body before heading to Broomfield, but it doesn’t look like he used his truck. Then I remembered this Tweet from Lauren:

On May 7, #BarryMorphew texted a person about getting a new truck. Attempted to call #SuzanneMorphew dad Gene. Also texted George Davis. Mallory was sending pictures of their trip to Utah and also a text that said, "Finally got the job!"

I don’t think he did get a new one, obviously, but I do wonder if he borrowed one to dispose of Suzanne. The reset of his truck doesn’t wipe out the data in the future, yet there’s nothing there.

I think there’s a bombshell coming.

I'm willing to go down this road with you, but how and when did he get this borrowed truck? No way he had a buddy bring it over while his wife is dead in the backyard. I think we would have heard already if he swapped cars with someone. I know if I loaned my huntin' truck to someone and then he got arrested for killing his wife that day, I'd be on the phone to the sheriff.

Do we know if he had a mule or some other utility truck? I don't know that one could manage a body on a four wheeler, but you can accomplish anything with enough duct tape and bungee cords.

The way I see it, it played out along these lines (I'm going to use military time because it's easier):

From 14:47 to 16:44pm he kills Suzanne. (1 h 57 min)

At 16:44 he goes and gets something out of his truck.

He has from 16:44 - 21:25 to do whatever he does to the body and clean the DNA in/around the house. (4 h 41 min) It's still daylight and I don't think he would risk having her outside in the daylight where someone could come along and catch him loading a corpse into his tool box.

At 21:25 he moved his truck out of the way (or maybe to a better position to load the evidence) and it stays active until 21:52. At 22:17 his phone comes out of airplane mode and is presumably sitting inside the house undisturbed for the next few hours. (52 min)

He had from 22:17 to 03:26 (Barry opened the truck door) to dispose of her body, wash any DNA evidence away, get his bloody clothes run through the washer and dryer (with that pesky dart cap in the pocket), and get everything that might link him to her death gathered and moved out to the truck. (4 h 43 min)

That's a pretty tight window to get all of that accomplished, particularly if you want to get her hidden well enough that she won't be found. Even if he only needed an hour to get everything else cleaned up, he can't have taken her body further away than he could get in maybe an hour and forty-five minutes, he would still need time to get her hidden and get back to the house and get whatever vehicle he used cleaned up (I personally don't think she's on or near the Puma Path property.).

At 03:58 his flight of the bumblebee run to dispose of the evidence began. He has from 03:58 to 05:37 to plant the bike and get to Buena Vista, CO where he takes his phone out of airplane mode. ( 1 h 39 min) Google Maps says it takes 36 of those minutes to get from the trail head near Puma Path to Buena Vista, CO.

We could probably shift each set of events from May 9 at 16:44 until May 10 at 03:58 into different time blocks, but this seems most likely to me.

This leads to another timeline question, I can't find a confirmation on what time the noise woke Mary Branson that night. I think I recall that he was outside MGs early that morning, too.



BTW, Does anyone know how many (if any) search warrants were executed in Broomfield?

It was probably at about veggie stew time that BM decided that SM was giving him no choice but to carry out his afternoon plan. BM made sure to carry out his 2 pm (alleged) appointment at DSi to change the bobcat blade and return home by 2:43 pm. I'm unsure whether or not BM also stopped at Kim's Gym (and Tailwind) which I don't think is significant.

I personally can't track and have no concept of where the court proceeding are in relation to witness testimony without the reporter's tweet timestamp!

I believe the following tweet string by LS illustrates my point. When the court returned from break, the third witness (FBI Agent Grusing) was called to the stand. After speaking to his credentials, he begins by telling the court what BM told investigators and compares BM's account to a 625- page report of data pulled from BM's truck. Grusing's testimony switches to SM's activity beginning at LS tweet stamped 9:56 AM.

Take note that Agent Grusing does not ever account for BM going to the DSi shop at 2 pm to change the bobcat blade because BM omitted this information when interviewed by LE.

Any information about DSi and the bobcat blade is first introduced to the court by Defense Attorney Neilsen, but not until several hours later when examining Grusing.

Given the prosecution's position to rule out the bobcat in SM's death, I don't think the prosecution considers this maintenance of any importance other than BM omitting information from his timeline when first meeting with investigators.

There was definitely a different skid steer on that job site. What actually caught my attention was the trackhoe. It has a bucket like a backhoe. It can dig deep down and fast. So I've wonder ever since if LE examined it.

You have a good eye for spotting equipment @TexieLouWho21! I think it's very possible that BM "borrowed" a piece of equipment from the job -- creating the late- night noise heard by witness Branson.

The defense has a lot of ammo up their sleeves about this 'airplane mode' definition. The state better get their ducks in a row or it could get destroyed by those defense ladies on this subject.

The Defense will ask a lot of technical questions trying to show that agent Grusing isn't an expert in this area. So the state better get someone else up there to battle wits technologically with them to get this point across to the jury.

I am hoping that this is exactly what they are anticipating, and are well prepared.
I really really hope.
As I recall Grusing seemed rather unperturbed when they brought it up, and he said, (paraphrasing) I don't know, you're teaching me. . .
almost as if he's luring them, or giving them enough rope, as it were.
Either that, or there's something even better to share, and that particular tech info really isn't all too important.

6:56 am BM texts SM “You up? Happy Mother’s Day. I love you.”

8:10 am Car door opened at RTD bus stop in Broomfield off Hwy 36 - Trash Drop #1

8:20 am BM parks on south side of HIE away from cameras, throws things in trash. Trash Drop #2

8:25 am BM enters hotel carrying clothes, (teal and black colored), hiking boots, light blue plastic bag

8:38 am BM goes to room, changes into blk v neck, hiking boots, carrying different bag

8:41 am BM texts SM that he arrived

9:12 BM leaves hotel, drives by wall, goes to MacDonald’s. Throws things in trash. Trash Drop #3

BM then goes to a car wash

BM then goes to Men’s Wearhouse parking lot, spends 40 minutes. Driver & pass doors open and close multiple times. Trash Drop #4

ETU Goes back to room with large notebook with messy papers

ETU Leaves room in a different shirt, gray t shirt, with large notebook and neat papers, 20 minutes later

ETU BM goes to wall and works 11-15 minutes, removed blocks from wall.

11:20 am BM calls SM. No answer

12:06 pm BM calls MM1

12:27 pm BM throws away 2 bags, with camo coat, tree container, (tranquilizer material?), in dumpster at HIE. He walks across lot rather than parking near dumpster. BM walks back to hotel with hands in pocket and head down. Trash Dump #5

12:42-5:55 pm BM in room at HIE

3:39 pm texts SM, asks her to call him

5:15 pm PP neighbor Ritter calls

5:55 pm BM changed shirts again and left hotel room.

6:00 pm BM makes multiple trips in and out of hotel entrance bringing in hand tools including a shovel and rake. Asks front desk if he can leave them for his workers.

I am hoping that this is exactly what they are anticipating, and are well prepared.
I really really hope.
As I recall Grusing seemed rather unperturbed when they brought it up, and he said, (paraphrasing) I don't know, you're teaching me. . .
almost as if he's luring them, or giving them enough rope, as it were.
Either that, or there's something even better to share, and that particular tech info really isn't all too important.

The software (Cellebrite) report the defense was referring to is a staple used by the majority of investigators for cellphone forensics, and I think the defense intentionally muddied the waters by trying to add "precision values" to the report cited in the affidavit. I believe the precision value is similar to a quality control function to periodically validate the software data output. Smoke and mirrors tactic by the defense. My advice is to save this for the expert witness at trial.
