Grusing confirms that Morphew said he searched for Suzanne for three to five months after she went missing. He testified that when he asked Morphew when it would be OK to stop searching, Morphew said "Never."

Points being made in court by defense include Barry’s search for Suzanne- he said he covered 200 sq miles. When investigators asked where she was he said “I think she left”. He said telling their daughters about Suzanne’s affair was hardest thing he had to do.

So the affair was not the reason for the AA to be sealed. The girls were told.

I am making a list of all tweets, but they won't be posted until lunch time and the end of the day, so even if no one is available to post in real-time, I will have a full chronological list of tweets at break times.

Thank you for this, @kshultz06082 !

We have such a marvelous group of folks here who have great compassion and kindness, sharing their time and effort to post up-to-the-minute Court reporting and facts!

You are all so wonderful and genuinely appreciated!:)

#BarryMorphewtold his daughters about #SuzanneMorphews affair. He allegedly told the girls that Suzanne was a good mother. Told them that her sin was no worse than any sins we do every day. One of the daughters wiped both of her eyes as she cried when this was said.

so if they knew in advance of the affair - that can't be the reason to seal the AA - the defense is stalling for a reason IMO - do we have a list of the sequence of the 8 witnesses? as mentioned upthread - it looks like they are stalling to run out the clock. all of this is a rehash - why isn't the Judge stopping this ?

Agent Grusing is back on stand this morning. Cross-examination is picking back up. #BarryMorphew #SuzanneMorphew @KKTV11News

According to defense #BarryMorphew told investigators he believes #SuzanneMorphew left and he would be wrongly accused if the DA Office thought he made the county Sheriff's Office look bad. @KKTV11News

#BarryMorphew told his daughters about their mother's alleged affair saying it was the hardest thing he had to do. Barry just wiped his eyes. I'm sitting behind him but it sounded like he was a bit emotional during that @KKTV11News

Many of us will be disappointed today if we don't learn a fair justification for Judge Patrick Murphy's order to keep AA sealed. I have high hopes, but low expectations

Really? The hardest?

Oh ok.

#BarryMorphew told Agent Grusing that it took him a few weeks to get over the affair and to get over the anger. "We are all sinners, I got on my knees and forgave her. I still love her."

I don't know about Ford trucks specifically, but odometer fiddling is notoriously a problem (and illegal in some jurisdictions) and is discouraged by manufacturers -- suggests to me that a simple dash or other fuse disconnection would not manage it but perhaps someone here would know better. Posters on Ford enthusiast forums don't seen sure and the subject seems to be a taboo one:

Disabling Odometer? - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums

I asked a friend who is something of a vehicle expert and he can't think if a way that gps and odometer would get out of sync - especially to the tune of 18 miles. My thought is that the computer had to complete a "drive cycle," after the battery was disconnected, before it started logging data again. I just went through this with a vehicle for emissions - if you clear the diagnostic codes, the vehicle has to drive for 10 to 20 miles before it logs data again. I'll bet we will find out that the missing 18 miles were after the battery was disconnected.

I don't think they are stalling at all. They have a right to cross-examine each witness. If the state is withholding important evidence to the end, that's the state's problem. They could have opened Day 1 with their most important evidence. No one told the state how to present their evidence. There's no such thing as running out the clock when the state presents first.

The problem is with Colorado's system IMO. Most states have a grand jury system where the defense does not appear. The state just runs through its case and the grand jurors vote to indict or not. But once you invite the defense in, they have a duty to challenge the evidence.

I seriously think it was for JL and his family.
