I rarely post, but this is EXCELLENT!! I really hope that someone from the DA's team reads here at WS. You would make a fabulous addition to their team, FWIW...
Yes @10ofRods I agree this was excellent! I think you could give IE a run for her money!

Yes and I also suspect he found out how to read her texts in real time. If they share an account he could read her texts in the Cloud and he might have installed some type of spyware on her phone where he can see everything she is doing even on Linked In or What’s App.

One thing that is really bugging me is the trip to the Spa & Stove store (might have name wrong) after the last communication from Suzanne to JL. If Barry killed her around 2:50 pm then why go to that store right afterwards? To cover his butt for the “get hot tub stuff” text? But yet he didn’t purchase anything? Just inquired about getting the hot tub fixed? Makes no sense. But if he had just committed the murder of his wife and was in a high adrenaline state because he had all kinds of things to take care of then why take the time to go there? And then try and reset his truck data after he got back home? Somehow this is an important clue.
Agree since Agent Grusing said the people at the Spa Store were "mistaken" about a 5/9 4:30-6pm visit by BM.
What will Barry say was the reason he disconnected his truck battery?

I assume BM either claimed to not have done that or maybe it's 1 of the 95 I don't remembers. Who knows?

I see a camo jacket in one of the photos. I wonder if it was “the” camo jacket. I’m sure Barry has many. I did read something about camouflage clothing-it’s the equivalent of a snowflake. Every article is different, as the location of the pattern and individual component piece cut factors in.
Yes, good point. I had mentioned this jacket a couple of threads ago when I first posted the photo. Still, if it hasn’t been recovered he’ll just say it was old and he wanted to get rid of it, just like his work boots. Wonder if MG could tell us if BM was wearing that jacket and those boots early Saturday on a cool spring morning in Salida? Or, he just might have put them on later that day when he was out and about on a chilly Colorado evening.

Apparently he lives in a world without details.

Yes, SM sent text messages to BM with a Salida property for sale and BM brings up moving to AZ?? He'd been love bombing SM since May 6 and the difference this time was that nothing was working. SM was standing firm -- her mind was made up. Seriously, BM, moving to AZ was going to work as great as moving to Colorado did! He should have let her go... he's a savage. MOO

On May 8, #BarryMorphew allegedly brought up moving to Arizona. Grusing said this was the first time this was ever mentioned and Suzanne thought it was strange. She was looking at homes for sale in Salida, CO according to text messages.

So odd that she and JL had talked about Arizona. It's just so hard for me to believe that Barry wasn't tracking some of her online communication.

Also odd that she would share with him her details about a house in Salida - apparently for herself to live in, right? How did she think that they could remain so amicable? Or that she could move so quickly to the property split portion of divorce. I guess both of them had/have aversions to legal advice.

If Barry did know about the affair, and then Suzanne was talking about moving out ASAP (which it sounds like she was), I can imagine his mental state. At the same time, "meek" Suzanne was showing her own anger (at Barry) for years of control and abuse. He never thought she'd leave him.

If the text was sent whilst she was with Gene Ritter, did Gene encourage Suzanne to send it?

I think it's possible that SM compiled the text and hit 'send' before she left PP but with the dead zone in their neighborhood, maybe the text didn't successfully transmit until she arrived at or near the Ritters.

I think the defense is really reaching here - it's all to discount the most important communication by SM to BM in her life. This communication cost SM her life!

That could be interesting. How much will she legally be allowed to discuss about the preliminary and what she thinks the judge will decide?

Oh I am setting a reminder for this one.
Absolutely me too. She is in the hot seat but I am sure Mike will handle cautiously. It will be interesting to see if she walks back her comments to Lauren. I was abit taken aback she would say some of the things she did.

I am confused about this, too. I don't really know much about vehicles, and I didn't even know you could reset your truck? Never heard of it. It did lead me to believe that he was trying to reset where he had been at. My first thought was he was making it appear that he came home at 5:30pm. He didn't want to make it appear that his truck was not at PP when SM phone when silent.

I guess that isn't the case because we do know his truck activity prior to 5:30 pm, but did he know that? JMO

edited because I forgot BBM

I think BM quickly disconnected/reconnected his truck battery around 5:30 pm believing the "reset" would clear all electronics from his Ford when the reset only erased his blue tooth, directions, and communication history in the dash and not the full functioning GPS/telematics module.

That's a separate computer module installed in the truck that LE was able to remove and download. There are several Ford blogs devoted to how to stop, jam, and/or erase the functions of this module!

Unfortunately for the cellular forensic junkies like myself, I think that Chaffee County's known history of poor, interrupted, cellular connectivity will prove to cripple some crucial evidence we've come to depend on-- especially in no recovered body/remains homicides.

The prosecutor will have to rely on the maturity and experience of the (retired) investigators on this case that still remembered how to conduct a homicide investigation before towers, pings, and modules. I think this will be a good example where experience comes before beauty, brains, and youth (i.e., BM's new age defense team). MOO

if the calls did happen maybe SM was busy or otherwise did not want to talk to BM. but it seems to me it's just another example of BM stalking/controlling like behavior towards Suzanne. MOO.
These calls were happening just after she sent her last photo to JL and after he commented on wanting to get naked. I believe he previously said his wife was at costco and his daughter went for a run so he was alone or could be alone. I am thinking she went inside after sending the sun bathing photo and maybe they were going to video and have some adult time. This could explain why her bathing suit would be in the closet and if Barry then was trying to call 11 times, she didn't answer because she was on a video call with JL or was preparing to video call him with an app. From the time of all those calls to his arrival at home was right around 20 minutes.

I am positive they were watching each other. SM to gather evidence to support her divorce. BM as a method to control SM. I suspect BM knewSM was having an extra marital relationship.

What if SM knew he was doing illegal activity with his work or financially with how he was operating. I have always wondered because money was such a big deal for him and she had so much tied up in the marriage. Maybe she put that pen in his truck to record any fishy calls he had with others about his business or illegal activity. Maybe this is also in the AA and why it's not being released just yet.

I wonder where the master bedroom is located. If it’s on the main level, I wonder if Barry crept around the house and peered in the window to spy on her (that’s a creepy image). If she was doing adult things with JL, she would’ve locked the door, and most likely the windows shades would be down.. maybe he listened from behind the bedroom door, and once she hung up he busted down the door and shot her with tranq dart…
Who knows. Nobody would be able to sneak up on me because my security system makes a loud noise every time an exterior door or window is opened, but we don’t know if they had a similar system.

Outstanding post, @10ofRods! What you have outlined here is what some of the most experienced WSers here can visualize as we develop our theories and put together our timelines.
Others with less organized minds and/or less experience have many of the same facts available to them, but are not able to grasp all the data to lay it out in an understandable pattern which reveals the true picture to them. This is why so many people had a hard time with the Prelim. It was just floating facts, but little story.
This is also why a prosecutor’s ability to tell the story in a simple, clear, and concise manner is so important at trial. Of course they must insert the data to back up the story, but not do so in such a way that the storyline is lost. The defense will try to muddy the picture by throwing out all kinds of “what ifs” most of which have nothing to do with the case. The prosecutor must be on his toes; he must be able to reel the jury back in as they start floating away on irrelevant data rafts.
@10ofRods , your example is the way this case must be presented, especially as it is a circumstantial case, a cumulation of factoids. It takes that big box of puzzle pieces, (the one that has no picture on the cover for the jury to see), and lays them all out, interlocking every piece to form the most beautiful, complete, picture.

I echo these thoughts.
@10ofRods - You did a great job laying out your perspective and thoughts with a bog box of circumstantial puzzle pieces.
I look forward to seeing what route the state takes with the added insight and evidence they have.

She could be one that is being protected too. She is older and maybe she witnessed things. Maybe she is someone Suzanne looked up to for advice and she could share freely because it wasn't like one of her BFs that knew Barry personally for years and years. She could get an unbiased opinion from Gene. I bet she was suspicious as soon as Barry called her.
