I wonder where the master bedroom is located. If it’s on the main level, I wonder if Barry crept around the house and peered in the window to spy on her (that’s a creepy image). If she was doing adult things with JL, she would’ve locked the door, and most likely the windows shades would be down.. maybe he listened from behind the bedroom door, and once she hung up he busted down the door and shot her with tranq dart…
Who knows. Nobody would be able to sneak up on me because my security system makes a loud noise every time an exterior door or window is opened, but we don’t know if they had a similar system.

This is something that would make him so enraged to bust down the door. I really wish we knew if they did in fact have a video call. The texts just prior showed discussing it. He mentioned family was out and she was alone and he said something about getting naked. I really think she went inside after that last photo was sent and possibly was waiting to video call or was on a voice call maybe saying adult type things and Barry arrived home. She didn't answer all those calls he made and it isn't stated that she called him back during that time either. That would certainly make him mad I'm sure.

The master bedroom is on the ground level.
Sounds like the home security was disabled.

Surveillance system was not operating the day that #SuzanneMorphew went missing. Investigators say the people living in the house before installed the system and it was not operating for several years. @KKTV11News

I trust Mike King not to ask DA Stanley about this case on Monday. We don't need anything to go sideways!

There was a case in WA State where the DA talked to NG during the Skylar Nemetz case and this only added to his problems where similar to DA Stanley, he was already under a cloud of politically motivated complaints.

State bar recommends disciplinary hearing for Lindquist over murder-trial TV appearance

Yes interviews like this make me as nervous as juror interviews following a trial when I agree with a verdict. They are just fraught with danger.

Absolutely me too. She is in the hot seat but I am sure Mike will handle cautiously. It will be interesting to see if she walks back her comments to Lauren. I was abit taken aback she would say some of the things she did.

Sorry for the brain fog but, which comments to Lauren are you referring to, and which things has she said that caused you to feel a bit taken aback?

I understand where @RIPRM is coming from. Many people don’t “recognize” domestic violence unless it’s proven with “Nicole Brown Simpson” photos w/black, swollen eyes & lots of bruises. Imo, that’s one of the reasons it continues to be tolerated, lack of awareness of what DV entails. The day to day “subtle” abuses are overlooked or explained away as “all couples have problems or differences.” I think it’s a pretty common problem. Unless the Prosecution starts out with an expert to educate the jury, in my opinion, I’m not sure the domestic violence claims will be fully understood by the jury. MOO

I am STUNNED by the number of people who are taking Barry's "clipped her" comment at face value.

Clearly they have been blessed to never have been a victim of domestic abuse or had a close friend or family member who was/is.

If he openly admitted to clipping her on one occasion, he beat the hell out of her on others. Abusers only admit to little things, to try to deflect the big things. From the state of the MBR door frame, he physically assaulted her on more than one occasion.

Controlled abusers are the worst, they're experts at not leaving marks and deflecting.

Barry is VERY controlled.

We have to start talking about domestic abuse openly. It's not always about violence. Honestly, the gaslighting and mental abuse are way more damaging than physical abuse.

MOO there is no upside for Stanley giving a YT interview, only risk.
A portion of a small audience may understand the case better as a result of the interview, but the criticism of the prosecution can only be met by better preparation of prosecution witness for court.
Offense also has to run effective defense, not doing that loses games.

E&N have divided all the evidence into categories of who is responsible, found the overlapping areas and unfiinished inquiries. They will continue to pound those areas until they meet a wall.

So odd that she and JL had talked about Arizona. It's just so hard for me to believe that Barry wasn't tracking some of her online communication.

He was tracking all of it. Phone calls, texts, Linkedin, WhatsAp. He knew where she was at all times and he knew she was having an affair. I so wish she could have gotten away from him and kept him out of her life. MM2 knew what was going on and wanted Suzanne to leave him, was willing to live with her. I can't imagine how that poor girl feels now that her mother is dead at the hands of her father. JMO

I still wonder if it was a hotel pillow or one from home.

Me too, the pillow bothers me. What was the purpose? Was he attempting to plant evidence, because he clearly wasn't trying to get rid of it. Trying to imply that she was suffocated so they wouldn't look for another method? He went out of his way to plant other evidence as a redirect.

On a side note, is anybody else really looking forward to the trial just so we can finally SEE all of the pictures that we've read Tweets about?

we know the surveillance was not working, but we don’t know if they had a separate alarm system for exterior windows and doors that alerted the residents when one was opened and closed. I don’t think that type of system (which I have) is high tech enough as to where LE could pull data to see when exterior windows and doors open, but I could be wrong.

Unfortunately the description says “ Join us for a recap of the PH of BM.
DA LS will go over her thoughts on the case and where it will go from here. “
I don’t think this is a good idea. JMO

I think it's possible that SM compiled the text and hit 'send' before she left PP but with the dead zone in their neighborhood, maybe the text didn't successfully transmit until she arrived at or near the Ritters.

Ah, that's a very good point.

Now I'm wondering if SM drove to the Ritters', which would mean going out to the freeway and east to the next access road before connecting with the neighbor's driveway, or whether she walked straight across the creek (I seem to recall there is a bridge? but even if not, there's probably a spot with big rocks to hop across without getting wet).

@OldCop are you the one who recently posted a map with the Ritter home labelled? I can't seem to find it but I remember it.

The neighbor's house is close to theirs but also closer to the freeway and quite possibly has better connectivity. Or good wifi which she could have used.

MOO

Edit -- found it! map credit @OldCop

Did anyone else catch this? With all of their many many complaints about Discovery, don’t the same rules apply to the Defense?
@Alethea Does this video qualify as work product and that’s why they didn’t have to disclose it prior to the Preliminary Hearing?

A video on Google Maps made by the defense team is shown of where the helmet was found. The state says they haven't seen this and wished to see it in private before showing it to the courtroom but the judge said we don't have time.

Surely she would have wanted her camel back in the house so she could fill it with fresh water before she went out.

When we used to do more hiking and kept the camelback in the car, I refilled it from plastic water jugs we kept in the garage and in the car to refill various reusable containers. My daughter has a 5 gallon water dispenser in the breezeway between her garage and her house, and refills her athletic bottle there (but leaves it in the car - her garage is really well insulated and doesn't get hot - our cars sit in the driveway and there's no way one could leave a used camelback in the car...)

Perhaps she went to a park where they had a fill-up station? We have those now in many parks in California (and on our college campuses - filtered, cool water for bottle/camel fill-up).

It sounds to me as if those bike rides in Salida were a safety valve for Suzanne - she was ready to go biking at any time, to get away if needed. This would also have given her some privacy to send messages or talk on the phone outside of Barry's hearing/camera view. I know it sounds like a crazy way to live, but I kept the car ready to go when I was in my first marriage. I wonder when Suzanne actually got her card from that company she had transferred funds to (good for her!)

I do think that discussing buying a second house in Salida (for her to live in) with Barry was truly "too soon" after declaring her intention to leave. She was trying to make it very, very clear to Barry that this time, she was going to leave - but she truly needed protection during this phase. Getting an R/O never helps in these cases, IMO, especially when LE response time is based out of a town 20 minutes away.

Here are 4 photos of BM with different with 2 different types of footwear. The first shows BM in an undated photo at Monarch River Estates, (where PP is). The second is a close up of this photo showing his footwear. It appears he is wearing a type of work boot with laces.
The third photo was taken at PP. I believe it was Tuesday the 12th, right after SM disappeared. These look to be hiking boots. The fourth photo was taken at the same time. Gee, he is having trouble with those pesky laces.

Well done! I bet it was the hiking boots that got trashed (and he saved the laces for the work boots? An eternal optimist, that Barry Morphew).

BM Disconnecting Battery?
Agree since Agent Grusing said the people at the Spa Store were "mistaken" about a 5/9 4:30-6pm visit by BM.
What will Barry say was the reason he disconnected his truck battery?
@Boxer bbm
I'm wondering what BM told - past tense - LE or anyone else about disconnecting truck battery.
If LE asked BM about this, he may have given a :rolleyes:Barry-reason:rolleyes: or "I don't recall."
Imo at trial, that's all we'll hear about the reason.
Well, unless BM takes the stand.

About 7 minutes in…Ms. Stanley speaking…felt a tad odd to be saying now that the preliminary is over. It is the news broadcast from Fox TV the night after the preliminary.

I would think resetting the truck data would require more than just disconnecting the battery?

Because otherwise a vehicle would lose data every time an owner replaces a battery or it goes dead. No?

IMO

I just had my battery replaced and I had to reprogram everything including my seat settings! I think newer vehicles may have a backup that reloads but not my experience. Also, we have no idea how BM accomplished the "reboot" and I'm just speculating it was by disconnecting the battery. I should have made that clear in my post and I apologize.

Agent Harris said Mallory was spoken to early on into the investigation but after that not able to speak with. But she said that they never spoke of divorce. Texts go on to say that Suzanne morning before she went missing--she allegedly messages Jeff Libler telling him she had a fine night & looked at houses for sale. She follows that with "Still talk about Arizona."

Brought this from media thread and RSBM and RBBM

Suzanne's talking about BM here, right? Isn't she kinda saying 'he's still talking about Arizona' or 'there's still talk about Arizona' in reference to BM?

Just cos originally I thought she was referring to her and JL, but didn't BM say they could move there - or have I imagined this?
