One of the best things and the most fun things to do after summiting Mt Antero, was to go to
one of the hot springs near Salida. In the Summer, that area was packed with hikers,
climbers, vacationers, fisherman. The hot springs were the hub. IMO

Quoting myself because I’m wondering if this is plausible. So yeah they had an image of last proof of life but what if there is video they couldn’t prove unless someone actually saw it. I think she did tell JL to get on Whats app and she was reliable. I think she was on with him when Barry came hone. I wonder if he’s just been too scared to tell the truth of what he knows all this time. Boy do I hope he redeems himself and this is why the AA was sealed.

Wow! Brilliant! I hope you are right. That would be a good reason to seal the warrant ‘to protect the victims and witnesses’ and if that evidence is in the AA there was no need to bring it to the PH. All my rambling opinion.

I have to disagree because any information JL would have told the FBI such as him witnessing BM catching SM on the phone would be part of the evidence that the State already shared with the defense. Don't forget that the FBI gave JL protection -- he had no reason to hold back! He's also trying to save his marriage & his job!

It's not illegal to keep quiet and not come forward but it is a crime to lie to FBI after they contact you.

The defense has already attacked the prosecution for failing to investigate JL and all his family members, etc. as possible suspects in SM's disappearance.

You can't believe that the defense would just sit on this evidence of their client going mock 4! And the prosecutor would have opened with this!

If JL heard or witnessed BM blowing through the MB door, that may be in the AA.
That potential testimony of JL may be one of the reasons the State is so certain of their case against BM.
Please let JL ultimately "save the day."

In the meantime he is a mouse...not a man...IMO.

If there was any recording or witness (visual or audio) to the actual attack, we would have heard about it in the preliminary hearing IMO. It would be legal malpractice not to include it, especially in a case as circumstantial as this.

I don't think JL could let his mind go there. It was that simple. He could not and did not want to envision SM living with evil.

Personally I think it was a self-serving thought. If BM wasn't responsible for SM's disappearance, then the affair wasn't relevant and JL could tell himself that he had no responsibility to contact LE.

does it get it's power from the alternator? Because, he could have gone
more than 18 miles, because I have started my car and taken the battery
out, it it still runs. IMO

How about removing the battery from the fob and using a key, does that change what information gets sent to the cloud? Just wondering.

Not sure. I have a 2009 black Mazda 6. <modsnip> . My key fob has not worked for years. They wanted 400$ to reset it.
But when I do remove the battery, everything gets reset. But after a week, It goes back to normal.? Go figure. IMO

I watched Lauren's video from day 3 and the timeline and noted some interesting things.

2:06: JL texts about getting naked (this makes me wonder if they were going to do something and therefore she went inside at this point)
2:11 SM last communication with JL saying she was getting on WOAH (Lauren says maybe this is what's app, but I don't know that WOAH is an abbreviation for that?? Is there another app that people can maybe video call on called WOAH?

2:26 Barry calls Suzanne 11 times

2:44 Barry home (so at this point I now believe Suzanne is inside and not outside sunbathing)

I don't recall seeing a tweet about the communication saying JL wanted to get naked nor do I recall seeing the one about WOAH. These were both in the video where Lauren went over notes from day 3.


4:10 it is noted her phone is pinging at the house
4:23 her phone is pinging on Poncha (sp?) tower.

This makes me think they are not at the same place at 410 and 423 so even if there isn't a closer tower to her house, it is noted her phone is at the house?? Then at 423 it was another location.

Another thing I noted was Barry said he was looking for the Turkey his daughter had killed, but I assumed it was around the property at their house. Listening to Lauren's video and she said it was near the RV park and that is Monarch Spur RV Park. She said there isn't a road directly there, you have to go on a different road from the main road to get to this RV park. So I am not sure if that means he went to that location in his truck or if he walked from his property through the woods to this location. It didn't sound like it was right on his property though. This RV park is the same one he told LE to look into.

Another incidence where he is putting himself at a location that he later tells LE to look at. Almost as if he is giving himself a legit reason to be at a location they might find evidence. I think they need to look there more.

It’s really obvious to me. The guy hid for a freaking year from fbi. He was pissing his pants scared of BM. He was the last known person to have contact with SM. Now the question is did he hear any of what went down if he was on a video call with her when she was attacked? I’m thinking it’s a strong possibility

My boys and husband pull the laces when tossing work boots if the laces are in good shape.

When hubby and I need new work boots, the laces are in just as bad of shape as the boots are so we've never felt it necessary to try and save the laces! Plus, new boots/shoes come with laces included so what's the point and/or purpose of saving the old ones? Enlighten me please. Maybe I'm missing out on something?

Because the color of the laces, laced up to a different shoe, would really tie his

questions for someone who's been following this case for a while and paying more attention than I have...
A post here within the past few days directed me to the Adventures with Purpose youtube channel that did some searching back in October of 2020. Anyway, they show photos of a small blue cycling shirt found along a creek near where the helmet was found. The shirt had several stab wounds and shotgun holes along with fecal matter (this seems like a big deal). This brings up many many questions, the best I could come up with are:

1. they mention in the video the shirt was turned over to LE... so have we ever seen if dna matched Suzanne? Was it brought up in the hearing? If it was, I missed that tweet.
2. they mentioned that much of the area they were trying/wanting to search was frozen, did anyone ever return after it thawed to search any of these places with sonar?
3. They also mentioned clear creek res as a place someone travelling from Salida to Broomfield could easily dump a body, has that place ever been searched and do we know any results?

Hi @macjohn - although I've been following this case since the beginning, I'm afraid there's not much information on WS about any "private searches" (land or water) other than Police River and Dive Team May 2020, the volunteer search last September by SM's brother Andy that was facilitated by youtube group Profiling Evil (PE), and AWP MSN link dated October 2020. PE is a WS-approved youtube channel for discussion here so there were many posts on the thread during Andy's search. To my knowledge, there was nothing during the preliminary about recovered clothing related to SM including a blue cycling shirt.

I believe somebody such as a classmate sent him a news link that SM was missing. Alexandria, IN is a small town and their graduating class was only about 100 students. I'm sure this spread like wildfire on FB. MOO

I believe it was a classmate from their school.

The news coverage here in Indiana was intense. TV news, newspapers, social media, etc.

I was working in a clinic in Alexandria for several days a month or so after her disappearance, and there were faded yellow ribbons tied around trees and telephone poles and weather-worn flyers and posters taped to windows and doors of businesses.

We know he stayed quiet to cover his own butt and save his marriage and pretend the affair didn’t happen. He probably thought they would never find him.

But what I want to know is what did he think happened to Suzanne? Did he think she ran away? Did he think she just decided to stay with Barry? Did he think she was dead?

Once the news came out he must have suspected that Barry murdered her. Maybe he figured he was next. Out of sight out of mind.

Or possibly he told his wife, and she told him to say nothing.

Exactly, plus he didn't know that Suzanne had saved 5 hours of conversation on the spy pen. IMO, Suzanne kept that to possibly have proof to show to JL's wife after she left Barry. There really wouldn't be any other reason to save the conversations. Is it nice? No but it happens everyday, everywhere. If JL knew that Suzanne was terrified of Barry, he shouldn't have encouraged her down a very dangerous path and helped put her in very, very risky situation. I have no sympathy for JL. These are not young kids, both knew better and used poor judgement.

If JL actually did hear or see something just before communication stopped....then he's not only a coward, but a pretty stupid one as well. After all, he had no way of knowing whether or not Barry had identified him....he must have been scared to death of Barry coming after him....why then wouldn't he report what he knew to protect himself and his family? Coward on so many levels. Exactly the wrong guy for Suzanne to confide in. What a shame. If he had consequential information that never would have come to light had LE not found him.....he would be viewed as an accessory in my untrained mind.
