GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — A man was arrested for allegedly killing a 9-year-old girl by poisoning her with chloroform as he attempted to sexually assault her, an arrest affidavit from the Grand Junction Police Department says.

Jeffrey Beagley, 34, was arrested Dec. 14 and is facing multiple charges related to the girl's death as well as multiple child sex charges after police found thousands of pornographic images and videos during their investigation.

Does anyone know why this child was in this house? Why she was in his care? Or if he kidnapped her somehow? Maybe others lived in the house, or her family was staying there, but if so, is he family or a family friend?

None of the articles I've seen so far say how he had access to this little girl. I can't help but wonder where her parents were exactly.

The girl died November 9. Emergency personnel received a call about an unresponsive child in the 1000 block of Hill Avenue that day. They found the girl unconscious and not breathing. She was pronounced (dead) at the scene.

According to those same online court records, Beagley’s alleged offenses against the girl began in mid-June.

There is mention of adult female - wonder "what" she knows??!!

Detectives found video that was taken from a hidden camera that was attached to a Bluetooth device, showing an adult female and a young female, which was believed to be the victim, in a bathroom that was in the house on Hill Avenue.

Investigators also found headless dolls, a “Witch’s Bible,” posters depicting death and other disturbing items in the house, police said. The victim’s mother and sister also live there, but police did not release details of the man’s relationship with them.
