This post lands at random.

Please review The Rules: Social Media - Facebook, Twitter, etc as to what is and is not allowed.

Under the heading of "Public Pages", it specifies those belonging to MSM, LE, etc. It does NOT mean pages belonging to the general public.

Do we know if her vehicle was impounded and investigated for prints and DNA? Sounds like they're suspecting her car was driven there, not by her.

My fear is that they're not considering comeone else leaving the car there. One of the few articles I've seen on LM states she was suffering from depression. I'm wondering if perhaps a suicide note was found, given that her friends held a Celebration of Life for her one month after the search/rescue of the trail where her car was found was called off.

I'm hoping LE is still actively searching for her. I think we all know about cases where the victim's car gets moved to a place at a distance from where murder occured. So, I want to assume that LE did impound her car and go over every inch of it for evidence.

There are victims in this but we don't know who they are because the warrants are sealed. I certainly do not consider someone accused of 6 felonies a victim but do consider his victims are the ones deserving our sympathies. He is going to plead guilty to some of them. Will his victims be satisfied with that? That is what matters. Also, there's certainly no rabbit hole as he prepares to plead. (presumably). It all depends whether the DP and the victims will be content to accept the bargain. I cannot see them dropping any of the violent or sex offences TBH.

What is the DP?

What sex offenses?

My understanding is that he was charged with chasing people while holding a hatchet - not known how many - driving without a license and being in possession of 2 weapons - hatchet and rifle. I am not aware that there are sex offenses in CO too.

Do we know what his actual charges are?

And no matter how poor one's opinion is of this man, he is a victim of 2 murders committed against his closest blood relatives. That doesn't change because he has committed some crimes.

It is my opinion that DN is a low level criminal that has made some really stupid decisions but is not a serial killer and was not involved in the 3 murders that people are trying so hard to pin on him.

Ty for finding the link I've spent the last 45 minutes searching for... and failing to find... in order to add it to my post where I mentioned depression! Ty.

Micah has a thread - see link at the top that I provided. The depression and other stuff is on that thread.

Does anybody know if there have been any new hatchet threats made against hikers/bikers since DN's arrest?

http://www.jconline.com/story/news/...s-five-felonies-colorado-1-indiana/754663001/

This article explains DN faces 6 felony charges altogether as well as still being a Poi in In (cannot rule him out but not enough evidence to make him a suspect).

One thing I notice is the article says the arrest warrants are sealed so that seems strange. Anyone know why that would be? Also with the unknown plea deal - why all the secrecy?

See above link that I have already posted on the last page which explains all the 5 Co and 1 In felony . The sex offences are FTR. DP is District Prosecutor/Director of Prosecutions - should have probably used PP (Public Prosecutor).

Not that I am aware of. There couldn't be more running about I hope. Pretty terrifying having a maniac come at you with an axe IMO.

Thanks Shires. I did see where you had posted a link to ML's thread. Still, I had wanted mention of her case to appear here on TW's thread due to proximity of time and place of both cases. (I guess in case someone in the future wonders about ML's case and if any possible connection exists.)

Mission accomplished, imo. In the future, if I want to comment on ML, I'll go to her link you provided. (:

For foxbluff, DN's docket as of today. They added an "Appearance of Counsel" on 1/10/18, that was not on the last docket I saw. Clear Creek Co is where he gave the officer false ID.

"The alleged menacing happened in the same area where a well-known cyclist was found shot to death earlier this month. Nations also faces a felony weapons possession charge in Teller County, and was charged earlier this summer with presenting a false ID to an officer in Georgetown."

No probs. I thought you may not have seen it as it came close to the bottom of the page. I do agree with you - she disappeared the day before DN's arrest so it cannot be known for sure what happened unless she is found.

Thanks for starting this thread, I was reading that this area is known for people shooting randomly and illegal activities.

“I don’t want to cast aspersions on Monument and Palmer Lake,” he says, “but ... it’s not like all of a sudden this totally pristine place had one bad incident.”

Yes it is known for that. Hopefully ballistics will help to find the culprit. Any idea how many murders normally?

"Presenting a false id" - we briefly discussed that on the A & L thread. Could that be presenting a false drivers licence? (Hiding his identity because he knows he hasn't registered as required)

Ty Kizzy !! You are so great w/providing these "easy to open" and "easy to print" thumbnail images for the rest of us. And always with the latest court updates.

This helps get the first day of TW's Thread off to a good start. (:

http://recordspedia.com/Colorado/Palmer-Lake/Crime-Statistics#top

Crime Stats for Monument and Palmer Lake. 2002-2008. Bit out of date - no murders but several arsons. This site is excellent. You can click by county or by city or town. I'll see if there are more recent stats. This helps to explain why TW's murder shocked everyone.

Actually, being local, I disagree. That one quote has been put out there several times, and it represents the opinion of one person who doesn't live there.

Never heard of anyone being chased or shot at until August of 2017.
