Is the Monument Police and Council Chiefs both still on paid leave for undisclosed matters? Any idea what that may be about?

Must be good being paid to do nothing.
Just wondering if it has any connection to TW's murder investigation or tourism?

TW is not their jurisdiction so highly doubtful. Monument and Palmer Lake have a history of corruption and cronyism. It's just small town politics.

"Lowe was placed on paid leave February 5th after Police Chief Jacob Shirk sent a memo to the Board of Trustees questioning his Lowe's professionalism and ability to run the city and police department.
All but three members of the Monument Police Department are represented by an attorney and according to Shirk, most fear for their jobs if they speak out against Lowe."

Looks like Nations doesn't have anything left on the Clear Creek County docket. Wonder what happened on the yesterday's hearing? Dismissed?
Still on in Teller County re children on March 1st.

El Paso County
I know it was the county of El Paso but which town's jurisdiction? - Monument or Palmer Lake? Eg Co Springs is in EPC but he wasn't murdered there. Which town will have the murder recorded under their crime figures?

Moo...TW's murder investigation might have been better served had he been shot to death in Teller County's Woodland Park.

Woodland Park has two very savvy police officers who were not only doing a good job of patrolling their territory when spotting a little red car, but were alert to what was happening in adjoining El Paso County as well.

They were putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 4 !! Great detectives imo...

He was killed in unincorporated El Paso County. Police only have jurisdiction to their own incorporated city limits. County Sherrif's have everything else. Just like Delphi. So TW will show up in El Paso County crime statistics.

That doesn't make sense to me based on the data I shared some time ago which had the crimes by town/city name. E.g. Monument and Palmer Lake had no murders now they have 1.

How many murders in total were committed in unincorporated EPC last year?

You have a good point there.

The MSM reports on the previous hearing were that the CCC judge was going to release him on his own recognisance. Then they noticed there was an out of state warrant so they held him for that reason. So it does seem that maybe the case was settled at that earlier stage.

He was given time served. The same will happen in indiana. I can't find him on vinelink so wouldn't be surprised to learn he is already out.

I'm sure you saw the articles about the high number of homicides in El Paso Co in 2017. This one shows the total for 2017 was 38 and 31 of those were in CO Springs. That leaves 7 in other areas of the county. Perhaps as you said there is one in Palmer or another town.

FYI. DN is still in custody @ JoCo IN.
It is a call in automated system. I just called he is there, you can go through the prompts charges, bonds and release date. There is NO release date scheduled.

He still has two other warrants as well in Bartholomew and Marion so would have to be dealt with by those counties after his trial in May for the Jo Co ones.

Thanks OC. I've given up trying to find out exactly where he was murdered.

These are maps of Palmer Lake and Monument city limits. TW was found to the west of Monument on the Mt Herman/Limbaugh Canyon Trail in the Pikes Peak national forest area. So it may explain why those police jurisdictions don't know anything but it sure isn't helpful for those wanting to use the trails. Do the National Forests have LE officers?

He was found near here, the top of the Limbaugh Canyon Trail before it descends into the canyon.

There are only 2 armed USFS Rangers for all of Pike National Forest.

TY. Looks closer to Monument than Palmer Lake. Is there any way of knowing where the homeless camps are/were at the time?
