There is a really nice memorial for Tim tomorrow in Palmer Lake at the library at 9am. They are dedicating a couple custom bike racks in his honor, and the mayor will speak. The Gazette will be covering this event. One bike rack will be at the library. The other will be at Rock House Ice Cream, where he once lived. I believe that was before it was an ice cream place.

There isn’t much outrage in the community. Every once in a while, someone says something. But not too often. It would be interesting to see what the mayor says. I doubt it will be me mentioned that Tim’s murder hasn’t been solved, not that a Memorial is the appropriate time.

*Review Hearing (@ 10am CT) - for Teller County - CO – Daniel James Nations (31) – re child custody. Next hearing 6/8.
For Indiana: **In custody in Indiana**
5/2/18 Plead guilty to Warrant/Writ issued 9/29/17 (6/1/17) Johnson County: Failure to register as a sex offender. Level 6 Felony: It carries a penalty upon conviction of a fixed term between six (6) months and two and one half (2 1/2) years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.00. Cash bail of $200 & surety of $1000. And 9-24-19-2/MA: Driving While Suspended requires a knowing violation and a prior conviction of Sec. 1, 35-48-4-8.3(b)(1)/MC: Possession of Paraphernalia; 35-48-4-11(a)(1)/MB: Possession of Marijuana. Warrant issued-$1,000 CASH only. Will not serve any additional jail time as a result. Officials say he was sentenced to time served for the marijuana charge, no jail time for the driving while suspended charge, and 702 days of probation for the failing to register charge. (DN is considered a NON compliant Sex Offender.) Compliance hearing 10/29 @ 9am
Plus in Indiana these are 2 separate cases:
*Marion County: Warrant/Writ issued 5/25/17 (11/16/16): Drug possession, paraphernalia, and driving without a license. This case is still pending (active).
Now in Bartholomew county faces these charges: (after these he’ll go to Marion County)
*Bartholomew Superior Court: 7/14/15: Public Indecency- Fondle The Genitals Of The Def. Or Another Person In A Public Place; Warrant issued (6/5/17), bond set at $5000 or 10% cash. Pending (active). Now in custody in Bartholomew County, and then will be transfer to Marion County after this one. 5/21/18: DL got 90 days in Bartholomew Co jail with credit for 19 days served, and a compliance hearing 7/20/18 @ 8:15am.

Depends on whether Marion Co gives him jail time or not. I think he could be out and in Co by August, yes.

In the US, it is not necessary for the parties to be in court for an uncontested divorce.

While we don't know for sure, I would imagine that due to his incarceration , DN does not have financial ability or access to a divorce attorney in order to contest a divorce.

It doesn’t really matter if it is contested. A judge can grant a divorce for any reason (s)he sees fit. Documented abuse alone is enough of a reason, and his ongoing incarceration is another reason. DN could contest it if he chose, but IMO there isn’t a judge out there who wouldn’t grant the divorce to her. She has clearly stated she’s aftraid of him, and there is documented abuse as well as his new menacing charges. Imagine the implications for a court system that didn’t grant KN a divorce, and then DN was later released and harmed her.

I wonder what the visitation and contact requirements are for DN and if KN feels safe enough and more free to talk publicly now about what she "actually" knows.

I wonder if she can have the children, or if she is still in a shelter? Is she alienated from her family? can she recieve protective identity change and go underground?

really, if she knows anything at all, she is always going to have to watch her back because this guy has a vindictive nature as you can see in his car keying video.

even without the delphi murders, this story stands on it's own as a terrifying, careening nightmare of a ride across the country with little kids in the car.

I hope she knows at any time she can still go to the police if she is truly afraid.
