I don't remember that particular case so I'm unable to address why it was lost, but there are LOTS of them out there that have been successfully prosecuted (example below).

While you've rested your case, all you've managed to prove is that it's now possibles for predators to enter restrooms under equal access and legally videotape.:clap::clap:

What a relief, I'm sure everyone feels much safer now.

Janitor gets probation, work release for videotaping bathroom

By Andrew L. Wang | Tribune reporter
10:29 PM CDT, May 23, 2008

A Highland Park man was ordered to serve 30 months of probation and 1 year in a work-release program for setting up a hidden camera in a synagogue bathroom and videotaping those who used the toilet, including young children.

Salome Zequeida pleaded guilty last month to 15 counts of unauthorized videotaping of a victim younger than 18 but was found not guilty of more serious child pornography charges for the recordings made in March and April 2007 in Congregation Solel, 1301 Clavey Rd., Highland Park.

Just another overreaction on this message board by you and others.

Yeah, well my grandmother was heckled for over-reacting with her claims regarding Hitler early in his career, so I guess it's genetic.

Paladin, this isn't like you. What's up????:confused::confused::confused:

I'm moving tomorrow into my first home. STRESSED OUT!

Besides, we won't know for sure what will occur as a result of this law.

All women need to do is just go into the mens bathrooms, because all of the perverts and pedophiles will be lurking in the women's. :)

edit: I apologize if I seem snarky or cranky. Going through a life transition that will be finished this weekend and I haven't eaten anything so I'm particularly cantankerous. I should avoid these forums when I don't eat!

Paladin, I'm so sorry you're stressed out.

It might have been more reasonable for the legislation to be scrutinized on this bill and it's effects before it was passed rather than just hoping it'll all work out. I'm really not against the majority of the bill, however, there's no specific definition of transgender. Perhaps if they had a licensing provision for those who would qualify I wouldn't be so taken aback.

What I imagine will happen (imagine? maybe hope) is that things will remain the same and some jerk won't use this law as an excuse to gain access to women or kids.

If someone claims they are transgendered, I can foresee alot of problems occurring, especially asking to see their "unit" to prove it. :)

You know the more I think about a qualifying board, the more I like the idea.

Right now, as part of this legislation they have a provision for a panel to review complaints on this issue on a case by case basis.

Wouldn't it make more sense to have some sort of qualifiers to permit those to use other gender restrooms? We license plumbers, doctors, real estate agents, HUD recipients, disability recipients ... etc etc

It wouldn't be so outlandish to consider pre-qualifying those who would be permitted to use other gender restrooms.

CONGRATS on the new home!

Don't know where you live, but if it's the South - put down bug killer all over BEFORE you move in furniture and fill cabinets. Just a tip!

I propose we rip out all bathrooms and make bathroom CLOSETS. Parents can have their kids (seeing eye dogs, infants, whatever) without risk of them crawling out from under one stall into another. No one can "peek" in the slots and if you send your kid in alone, it's OKAY.

Paladin, you were very snarky, but I will forgive you on the basis of not having eaten. I get cranky too if I am hungry.

Now go have an apple with some peanut butter on it or something right now young man!

Congratulations on your new home.

Been there and done that myself. I hope today is a better day for you.

I was actually mulling this over as well...maybe get them a card or something. I didn't mention it because I thought I would be laughed at hehe.

And that person lost their case, right?

I rest my case.

Rest your case somewhere else, Paladin! The guy WON. The judge (or a panel of judges IIRC) said he had the right to videotape in that case. I'll try to find it. We were all up in arms here, and even have pics of the judges on the thread. Wish me luck, this was before the wonderful "tag" system. LOL

If all bathrooms were one single private stall - that would be great. I never understood why a bathroom with one single private door that locks even had to have a male or female symbol on them, but always took advantage of it. When a line is 20 women deep at a stall and the men's room is empty - guess where I am headed? :-)

As long as you accidently can see in the little stall doors, I don't want my daughter to have to use a gender neutral bathroom.

I've heard that happened here at one of our sports arenas and the women got arrested for going into the mens room!

Good luck!

We're talking about specific case. It doesn't mean it will apply to this situation in all instances.

First Home (My definition)
A place you kick your feet up ON the couch, toss a ball up and down while you call your Mom and inform her that the refrigerator door is open, you're air conditioning the whole outdoors and that later, you'll run with scissors.

Your house, your rules, right?

Well, now she can claim she's a transsexual and get a free pass to the boys room.

I'm curious how it'll work on the high school level.

My daughter says she has "times" she can't go in the bathroom because there are students either
1. Before school - having sex.
2. At lunch - smoking pot

So you have to do a two second pee dash in between classes to avoid boys in the girls' room as it is in her high school.
