SURE AL could have been diagnosed wit Aspergers....

And I bet that he WAS. (it didn't come from the left field after all....) ... Can wait for official report .. maybe they will expand some more on it there...

BOTTOM LINE:

People without Aspergers (say the ones in 100% health) ... just don't go around shooting people ... GENERALLY .. but then all it takes is "one bad appple" ...

People with Aspergers and similar mental health conditions ... just don't go around shooting people ... GENERALLY .. but then all it takes is "one bad appple" ...

Still ... people with mental heath existing conditions - autistic, with Aspergers etc ... are known to have violent episodes, often have to be taking medication to calm down etc etc..

Please don't "bury your heads in the sand" as far as mental health is concerned .....

Check it out here again, for example: Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community - View Single Post - Connecticut school district on lockdown after shooting report at a Newtown elemen #11

After the Newtown shooting even White House spoken "on that"......

Following the shootings in Newtown and other recent mass shootings, the White House issued the following announcement: “The Administration is proposing steps to identify mental health issues early and help individuals get the treatment they need before these dangerous situations develop.”

--------

There is VERY GOOD chance here that Adam Lanza had "mental health issues" ... and it would have been very important if somehow someone like him could have been "identified / calmed down etc" (STOPPED basically) ... before "dangerous situations (would) develop".

Ya .. His mom was off the rocker, possibly ........ and, possibly, had more weapons at home than I had toys, when I was a toddler......

BUT if Adam Lanza's mind was setup on doing something like ... I am sure he could have found some ways to get enough weapons to "do the same damage", ... He would have just found some ways to purchase those weapons illegally.

She same thing could be said about bullying as well, basically:

People who were (severely) bullied at one point of their live or another, just don't go around shooting people ... GENERALLY .. but then all it takes is "one bad appple" ...

BUT ... would it be so bad if more attention was paid to bullying problem, more effort was made to try and prevent bullying in general?

That's all I was trying to say before .... and, still, trying to say now ;)

Some parents of the victims of Sandy Hook who appeared on 60 Minutes on Sunday said they believe that something was badly amiss in the Lanza household.

""It was like a set of dominoes, in many ways, just waiting for the first one to tick over," said David Wheeler, whose 6-year-old son Ben was among the victims. "I think it is pretty obvious to anyone who looks that something was very, very wrong in there."

Wheeler also blamed a "community vacuum" that allowed Adam's condition to go unaddressed. "This didn't happen by itself," he said. "This didn't happen in a bubble. She had a life, she had friends. People knew. They had to know."

Jimmy Greene, whose 7-year-old daughter Ana Marquez-Green was also a victim, says he believes "there was a huge, gaping hole in the way that that child was parented."

Maybe Adam Lanza somehow discovered that Nancy Lanza found out about him having those pictures... pictures of dead bodies etc ... and thought that she was going to do something about it ... do something FOR SURE ...

So it triggered him off to put his "plan", his "dream" into action ASAP ...

... Nancy then was his first victim (understandably so, if going with what I wrote above) .. and the rest was history .... :(

... something like that ... :(

Just a speculation ONLY, of course

Ryan Kraft attended Sandy Hook elementary school, the scene of mass shooting which left twenty children and six adults dead.

He now lives in LA and has set up a relief fund for victims and their families.

He spoke to the BBC about what he remembers about the Lanza family.

He was their neighbour and used to babysit for 20 year old Adam Lanza, who has been named by US media as the gunman.

^^^again, I don't see how AL could have had Asperger's or any other form of autism.

All of those signs indicate a person who is oriented to the feelings of others or is even aware that others are perceiving them in a particular way.

My experience with a high-functioning autistic person is, even when younger, he was oriented to his own feelings and his own needs. The only time others figured in was if they somehow interfered with his schedule or some other need he had.

Example - He takes a shower at 7 a.m. no matter what. If someone was in the bathroom at that time he would be extremely uncomfortable and irritable because his schedule was off. If someone was doing plumbing work on the house and there was no water available that day, he would end up having a meltdown by afternoon because he was unable to have his shower that day.

BBM: I agree....IMHO, AL had a schizoeffective disorder combined with Avoidant Personality Disorder. He was *not* Aspergers or Autistic.

My :twocents:

I can print off pictures of dead people all day and night from a gore site, him having those pictures makes no difference unless they were pictures he took himself of someone he killed (which I don't think they were).

A lot of the problem here is the dramatics used when writing articles about this horrible event. NL and her "ticking time bomb", AL with pictures of dead people, the supposed bullying that he endured, etc.

They both were so secretive it's almost impossible to tell what was going on in that house from the information that's printed day after day.

Maybe we'll get a definitive answer in the final report if experts try to piece together what was happening at the end between mother and son, but I'm also prepared to never really get any answers on why other than he was mentally ill.

I agree with Gardenlady that it's likely NL found the label "Asperger's" far more palatable than any type of serious mental illness.

She might have even told AL that's what he had because it certainly looks like she ditched any kind of medical intervention early in his life. She just moved him from educational situation to educational situation - IMO because the recommendations she was getting were for drug therapy or some other treatment she found unacceptable.

That's a disgusting site simply because they are profiting from exploiting others misfortune who were bullied and demonizing people who haven't been convicted or charged with anything in their "alleged bullies" section. What a vile group of people that must run that site.

There used to be across the board ethics in even the most tabloid outlets that purported to be news/journalism. For example, in the journalistic code of ethics the rules for reporting suicides are clearly defined: the basic details that a police report provides are ok to publish but, especially with minors, it is inappropriate to sensationalized a suicide because that has been proven to increase suicides because it provides the deceased with a "I'll show them" moment in the spotlight and further motivates an irrational person considering taking their own life to do so.

This bullyvile site is rubbish and those behind it profiting off of it truly disgust me.

You've posted these photos previously. I don't come here to see the same pictures of the Lanza's continuously posted. Not a fan of murder 🤬🤬🤬🤬.

Pat Robertson: Mass shooters ‘usually under the influence of psychedelic drugs’

By David Edwards
Tuesday, April 9, 2013 15:03 EDT

Televangelist Pat Robertson says that he opposes President Barack Obama’s efforts to limit high-capacity magazines and require universal background checks because most perpetrators of mass shootings are “usually under the influence of psychedelic drugs.”

On Tuesday’s edition of The 700 Club, Robertson noted that the president had traveled to Connecticut a day earlier to make the case for new gun control laws.

“Why don’t you guys do something important?” the TV preacher asked.

Investigation shows security in local schools varies

By Matt Porter

Updated Apr 9, 2013 at 7:55 PM EDT

Windsor, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Levels of school security vary in the Southern Tier depending on the district, an Action News investigation finds.

Some districts employ high-tech measures, like computerized card readers and classroom doors that lock automatically. Others use a combination of cameras, intercom systems and common sense.

Newtown inspires new approach to defending students

By Melissa Treolo | April 9, 2013, 10:55 a.m. | Updated: April 10, 2013, 12:00 a.m

“Any time there’s an incident involving schools anywhere in the country, we obviously start talking about what we can do about it here,” said John Douglass, chief of police for the Overland Park Police Department.

But what happened at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn., has inspired a reaction never before seen in this area, Douglass said. Virtually every public safety department, school district, community college and private school in Johnson and Miami counties have formed a task force, totaling nearly 250 people, called the Defense of our Schools Project. The idea behind it, Douglass said, is that bringing many people with their unique perspectives together will create a “synergy and a power” strong enough to prevent such an incident from happening locally.

“The truth of the matter is, there is no one solution” to preventing a school shooting, Douglass said. “And so what we’re trying to do is to come up with as many different options and ideas as we can, which tailor-make opportunities to reduce the risk.”
