It was a school. 20 children who probably still had all of their BABY teeth are dead.

This is honestly not the place to argue this and I am sorry, but please, a least for today, can we not say that the only thing that went wrong today was that there weren't enough guns?

Why oh why oh why can people not read the FACTS AND THE STATISTICS. Less guns=less gun violence. Not an opinion, it is a FACT.

Jumping in late but watched this unfold on TV along with social media.

I'm not seeing any other reports other than on here that there is a missing GF. Has this been confirmed and where did this come from? Sorry if I missed the link earlier, the thread went for clean up and it was moving far too fast for me to catch everything.

Was there anyone in the woods? And from how I'm understanding it, A had his brothers ID on him, and I'm guessing that is how they went to ID him based on the info that he had mortally shot himself in the head. Since "A" is 20, I'm wondering if his older brother allowed him to have an expired ID to get into bars or anything? That would explain why he had it to start with. (it could have been an old State ID and not a drivers license). Now when you get a renewed state ID or license, they mail it to you rather than taking the expired one and tossing it while giving your new one.

This tragic case is very involved and so much misinformation has been coming in up to this point. We've already had incorrect Facebook and Twitter or maybe they were correct? At this point, we just don't know.

So we'd like to ask that you all hold off on linking to social network links on this case, other than MSM's, at least for the time being. We'd also like to ask you to not sleuth the mom and dad and brother of the shooter.

So, until this case isn't so fluid, please show some restraint on posting anything not in the MSM and even then, it needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

No offence meant but how are you going to tell they are a weirdo before they do something like this? You can't just go around locking up anyone who is autistic/depressed/OCD...or any group of people for that matter. You don't know how each individual will act, nor do you know at what stage an individual who has not been diagnosed with a mental or neurological illness will behave. You can't tell who might snap.

Mark my words. He didn't wake up today and snap. There will be clues all along the way.

No but it's not the peaceful ones that do this either. There are always signs, it's just a matter of whether or not people are in denial about it or if they can even help. You can't do much with a mentally ill adult that doesn't want help.

We may have to agree to disagree on this. I think a huge problem is that there isn't enough help available. I'm not saying that this is the case in this situation as we don't know enough about it yet, but I think more support does need to be available. If more support is available then those who are displaying worrying behaviour would also probably be picked up earlier, controlled and perhaps bad circumstances like this being avoided.

I assumed that this was what your post (below) inferred. It is in the interest of all Americans that those who are mentally ill receive treatment.

I'm so sick of these weirdos. I know this didn't come out of nowhere. I'm now of the belief that we need to start institutionalizing all these "troubled" males and we as a country need to stop tolerating these nuts in the community, BEFORE they end up at this point.

You can bet I'm side-eyeing any potential nut when I'm out and about from now on.

I fault the media, and not these parents, for allowing these children to be interviewed. Even those parents whose children returned to their arms are likely in shock and an immense amount of grief. I can just see an opportunistic reporter cornering them with a story about how scared people at home are.

There is little any of those parents could do now I would find fault with. I live in another country now - still held my own children, crying - yet I cannot even begin to imagine the pain felt by those so close to such devastation. MOO

20 yoa is the shooter who is dead via self inflicted gunshot inside the Sandy Hook Elementary school.(per brother he is autistic or aspergers..per neighbors had shown signs of mental illness).. did not graduate, but rather quit school and received his GED.

24yoa is the older brother of the shooter, Adam. it has been reported that Adam actually had Ryan's identification on his person when found dead.Ryan was found at his Hoboken, NJ apt and taken in handcuffs for questioning by LE.

53yoa was INITIALLY reported to be a kindergarten teacher and the main target of the shooter.. NOW BEING REPORTED ^^THE ABOVE IS FALSE^^ and that mother, Nancy was found shot to death in her home. Son, Adam took mom's car and drove it to the elementary school. Reported by several that there IS NO TEACHER OR STAFF MEMBER NAMED NANCY LANZA AT SANDY HOOK ELEMEMTARY SCHOOL.

conflicting reports on his status as some assume he is the deceased male found in the home with the deceased mother, Nancy Lanza. but also reported that he and Nancy are divorced as of 2009, and that dad, Peter resides in Stamford. IMO unclear of his where abouts or if he is deceased or alive.

IMO its not dad in the home with mom, as they were divorced and didn't even live in the same city/town ..SO, I am very unclear on who was found deceased along with mom, Nancy in her residence??

and the entire issue of the mother initially stated as the main target at he school that she taught kindergarten at..WE THEN LEARN NOT ONLY WAS SHE KILLED AT HOME, BUT ALSO THAT SHE IS NOT EVEN A TEACHER AT THE SCHOOL??...WTF?

Also who is the male that was reported to have been found hiding in woods nearby the elementary school immmediqtely following the shooting rampage??...is this just completely false info?..or who is this person?..LE ARE STATING THERE WAS ONLY ONE, LONE GUNMAN AND THAT HE IS DECEASED INSIDE THE SCHOOL..
