I don't know if i am MORE angry or sad right now....

Little ones like our Destiny-should be able to go SWIMMING in the summer, and get home safely...her life should NEVER have been taken by a monster who had been arrested MANY times for driving under the influence and drugs! A life sentence doesn't help, and all the money in the world can't bring her back.

Little ones should be able to go to school without being afraid that they will be MURDERED-or that their classmates may die, at the hands of a COWARD -who instead of facing the parents of the little ones he murdered and EXPLAIN the need to kill their children -and ruin their lives forever.

I can't help but feel that I have failed. I once considered myself a "leader" to my peers. It should NOT take events like this to speak out. I am ashamed of myself. :(

Just logging in today. Is there a timeline of some sort? Something that starts with mom quitting? Seems like everything has changed since yesterday. I'm so lost.

This makes the most sense to me at the moment. Mom tried to go back to work (whether son wanted her to or not) and was either refused a position in some way or was going back to work. Son shows up at the school to get into a verbal altercation with staff members (for whatever reason; though it seems to be related to mom in some way). Goes home. Gets into an altercation with mom. Kills mom. Then goes back to the school, blaming them for his killing his mom, and going on a rampage.

Why he turned on the children, I don't know? He obviously came armed to do maximum damage. What I can not understand is what the children/mom connection is? If there was even one?

Here is my theorie:

AL was pahologicaly attached to his mother.
AL was always jalous of the school children that got his mothers attention
AL's mother stoped working as a teacher becasuse of that.
Recently AL's mother tells AL that the school has asked her to come back.
AL get horrified by this possibility and ask mother not to do that, but she refuse.
AL goes to school the day before the shooting to tell them not to ask his mother to come back, they refuse.
The day of the shooting he again begg his mother not to go back to school, he want her attention solitary, but the mother refuse again and possibly say somthing he feel is encredible hurtfull, an uncontrolaby jalousy and rage emerge in AL, he shoot his mother in the face and goes to the school and shoot the children whom he feel was steeling his mother from him and whom he felt was more important to his mother than he was.

Just my theorie, time will tell the true answer to what his motive was and how it all happened...

I still can't believe this happen. Its so sad. Neighbors are taking down their Christmas decorations.

Heard one teacher hid her class in the closets etc and told the gunman her class was in the gym. Then he shot her. Omg

I wonder if he liked one of the teachers or someone that works there because I think he went there for some reason.

Notice that he said there was not report"filed" of an altercation. He didn't say there wasn't one. I also heard him say again that the superintendent says Nancy did not work at the school. Like someone else mentioned, maybe she was a parent volunteer. I used to do that for all three of my kids in elementary school. I still want to know what her profession is.There seems to be no confirmation that she was a teacher.

He did first say something to the effect that they had no information about altercation. Not just that there was no report.

Police shed no light on the motive for the second-deadliest school shooting in U.S. history, though state police Lt. Paul Vance said investigators had found "very good evidence ... that our investigators will be able to use in painting the complete picture, the how and, more importantly, the why." He would not elaborate.

However, another law enforcement official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said investigators have found no note or manifesto of the sort they have come to expect after murderous rampages such as the Virginia Tech bloodbath in 2007 that left 33 people dead.

"You had yourself a very scared young boy, who was very nervous around people," said Richard Novia, who was the district's head of security and adviser to the school's Tech Club, of which Lanza was a member. He added: "He was a loner."

Novia said Lanza had extreme difficulties relating to fellow students and teachers, as well as a strange bodily condition: "If that boy would've burned himself, he would not have known it or felt it physically."

Lanza would also go through crises that would require his mother to come to school to deal with. Such episodes might involve "total withdrawal from whatever he was supposed to be doing, be it a class, be it sitting and read a book," Novia said.

When people approached Lanza in the hallways, he would press himself against the wall or walk in a different direction, clutching his black case "like an 8-year-old who refuses to give up his teddy bear," said Novia, who now lives in Tennessee.

Even so, Novia said his primary concern about Lanza was that he might become a target for teasing or abuse by his fellow students, not that he might become a threat.

Having a first grader of my own, born in 2006, and the thought of someone shooting her to death is making me ill. I'm going to step away for a bit.
